Carol and I spent the day talking our hearts about everything that we missed from each other's lives since we last met. And the sudden changes in our lives were also worth talking about for hours. She kept on telling me one thing on repeat that getting Dylan to commit to a relationship that too this early was a miracle of its own. I laughed it off or tried to act cool whenever she brought it up.
Dylan checked on me every two-three hours either through texts or calls, so Carol had nothing to suspect about our relationship status. I felt fully rested as I was on a constant run since the day I arrived here. Carol helped me to shower and kept me fed and happy, as Dylan asked her. "Ah! It's almost time they must be coming home any minute now," Carol said, looking at her watch.
"They? Is Michael coming again?" I asked. "Oh yeah! We all are going to have dinner here tonight. And, maybe have a little our own house party!" Carol said, in her usual ecstatic tone! I sighed as I understood that today, I won't be able to talk to Dylan for sure. She was instructing Michael on the call about things to buy and food to order; I just wondered how these two are playing out. I wished if they turned out to be a couple somehow, at least one of us would have a real relationship.
It was around 7:30 PM now; when our doorbell rang. "It must be them!" Carol said as she ran to the door. "There you are!" She shouts, seeing Michael, and they break into a hug; he walks in after giving Carol a peck on her lips. "How is your leg now, Megan?" He asked, but my eyes were still on the door expectantly. Michael noticed and smiled at me understandingly, "Oh! Dylan didn't tell you? He will be arriving a little late. Don't worry!" he said, patting my shoulder.
I sting of pain runs through my chest, I didn't know why, but I was counting hours for him to return home. And seeing Michael and Carol together was making me miss him even more. Then I thought; we are a couple in front of them, so why not do "couple things" in front of them. I picked up my phone, dialing his number.
"Hey! You reached Dr. Dylan Hill. If you're hearing this, I am busy at the moment. Please leave a message, and I will get back to you." It felt good to hear his voice but I felt even more worried that he has switched his phone off. This was beyond expected from him; I was sad. Michael and Carol were preparing the plates, serving the food that Michael brought, getting glasses ready for our drinks in the kitchen. And I could hear their giggles and flirty exchanges.
"Hey, come sit at the table. We will have some drinks till Dylan comes." Michael says as he walks in from the kitchen with wine glasses followed by Carol, who had a bottle of champagne in her hand. "Oh shit, I forgot!" Michael cursed as he kept all the glasses quickly in position and sprint towards me. "Come, I will take you." He said, extending his hand to me.
I smiled at him as I took his hand, trying to stand up steadily. He walked me to the chair at the dining table, making me sit comfortably. Carol also sat down opposite to me as Michael opened the bottle and poured some into our glasses. I kept looking at my phone and then at the door holding the glass as I couldn't help but feel how the whole fun was missing without Dylan here.
"So, how are you two working out?" Michael asked me; as he sat down next to Carol. "Well, it's just been practically two days. And like you can see, I don't know where he is or when he is coming home." I said; Michael and Carol looked at each other. "He is new to all this; he will learn, babe!" Carol said. Michael lifted his glasses to that; Carol responds by raising her glass. I look at both of them and do the same, as I knew I had no real reason to worry about his whereabouts, considering he was my fake boyfriend.
My eyes dart to the door as we hear the doorbell. I look at the time, and it was 8:20 PM. Damn, where was this guy! I thought, as Michael sprints to the door. "Hey, man! Did you get it?" I turned my face away when I heard Dylan's voice. It was like a relief, but I had to act like an angry girlfriend who didn't know where her boyfriend was all this time. I wanted to see his face again, though!
"Yeah, man! You guys started without me? Hey Carol!" Dylan said. I felt even more angrier as he didn't even say or ask anything to me yet. Suddenly, I felt his fragrance coming and I knew he was standing very close to me. I didn't turn around or look up at him. He gently kissed the top of the head and placed a paper bag in my lap.
I was startled for a minute, "What is this?" I finally looked up at him. "Open it!" Dylan said, his smile as mesmerizing as ever. I fished out the content of the box, and my eyes were in shock for a minute. All I could see was a beautiful, see-through sequence fabric in blood-red color, I lift it, and I was breathless. Carol screamed and ran to my side to lift it in her hands. It was bodycon, designer gown, and I couldn't believe it, Dylan went missing all this to probably get that for me. And Michael knew as I did hear him ask Dylan if he got it.
"Did you like it?" Dylan asked me. I look up at him, almost in tears. He knew that I loved it, and I was just speechless. "You are gonna wear that for the charity event!" He said as I continued to smile, looking at the dress and him in complete disbelief. He came closer to hug me, and all of a sudden, I felt his lips brush mine. It was just a soft peck, but my lips parted in a desperate attempt to taste him. He pulled away before I could, and he proceeds to kiss my forehead.
"I am so happy for you, Dyl! You two look amazing together." Michael said as we notice they two were watching us sitting on the other side of the table as if this was some kind of a show. We both turn at them and smile nervously. I put the dress back into the bag, which Dylan puts in my bedroom to try out later.
Dylan sat down next to me after he and Michael served the food at the table. We had an amazing time; laughing, talking and, wheezing at weird jokes that these two boys were cracking about each other. I found out more deeply about Dylan like he met Michael in medical school and also that, he had always been very emotionally distant from women. I looked at him every time, they cracked jokes about that particular quality of his, and his eyes tell me every time that he hasn't changed.
We finished our dinner and moved our party to the living room. Dylan and I were sitting on the love seat whereas, Carol sat on the recliner and Michael on the rug just below Carol, reclining on her thigh. I threw a quilt on myself as I was in my lounge shorts, and I snuggled into Dylan's side with my hand resting on his thigh. We decided to play Truth or Dare as we drank our respective beers.
"I will start," Carol said; Michael intently looked at her. "Mike, truth or dare?" she asked. Michael thinks for a minute, and shouts "dare!" "Wow! That's bold, man!" Dylan teases. Our eyes meet as I look at him, laughing at his little tease at Michael. "Okay, you will have to give me a lap dance!" Carol says with her usual evil laughter. We laugh out loud, just thinking about the task Michael had to perform.
"I will help you out, Mike!" Dylan says, and picks up his phone to play a sexually suggestive song for him to groove on. Michael gets up, preparing himself for the humiliation that awaited him. He begins moving his hips, looking at Carol, to which she laughed hysterically. Dylan and I broke into our share of belly laughter, looking at how much fun they were having. Michael went on to give her a very suggestive lap dance, by which I was pretty sure made her turned on.
"Alright, so now it's your turn, Dyl!" Michael announced. "Truth or dare?" Dylan passes a look at me before answering, "I will take truth for now." Michael threw his hands in disappointment. "Oh! Come on, man! Alright, so what do you prefer, the foreplay, the sex, or maybe both? Why?" Michael asked.
"Umm... I love both. But, more inclined towards foreplay. I want to get my woman ready for me to almost an edge where she begs me for it. Well, respectfully, of course!" He says and turns to wink at me. "Ooohhh! That's sexy!" Carol cried out. I blushed, locking eyes with Dylan. I had been begging for it since day 1, but odds are just against us.
"Alright, now Dyl asks Meg!" Michael said as Carol cheered. Why was this so entertaining to these two! I looked at Dylan; his eyes were deeper for some reason and telling me something which I was not able to understand. "Truth or dare!" Dylan asked me. I smiled at him as I mouthed, "dare!" with a sexy wink. Michael raised his hands for a high five as though he was celebrating my victory over him already.
"Alright! Whisper into my ear what you will want to do to me if we were alone here!" Dylan said. "But, you will have to get me turned on!" I looked at him disbelievingly. "How would we know if you're turned on or not?" Carol asked, high five-ing Michael. Dylan looked at me, "Ah! Trust me, Carol, you don't want to know!" She laughs out in response.
I lean towards him, looking deeply into his eyes. His playful smile fades as he realizes; he has already lost the game to me. I catch his jaw with my left hand to turn it to the side, so I have his ears exposed to me, and I give him a moan accompanied by just one word, "Daddy!" in a very soft but sexy tone. He lets out a sigh, by which all of us knew, he was uncontrollably turned on. He sat there, trying to subside his heavy breathing, also trying to ignore Michael and Carol's laughter and teases.
I smile at him triumphantly; he shakes his head and bites his lip as though he was trying to control himself from doing anything to me. The party was more fun than I expected. Now, it was my turn to ask Carol, so I ask her, "Truth or dare?" Carol looks at Michael playfully and says "Truth! I am with Dylan; we ain't daring like you two!" She says; and gives Dylan a high five.
I felt Dylan's fingers touching my thigh, moving slowly up under the quilt; I look at him questioningly. He retracts and I go back to think of a good question for Carol. "How many sexual partners are considered too many?" I asked. I knew it wasn't as exciting as the ones we were asking yet. But I knew this would trigger Dylan. As expected, he eyes me, a bit confused.
Carol thought for her answer; as Dylan and I stared at each other as though we were having our conversation silently. I wish he could hear what my heart was crying out though.
