Chapter 53 - The Black Sand

"This is bad!"

A figure could be seen inside the thick dust, it was running towards the ancient creature that was standing still without moving a muscle. It is unknown what the creature is thinking but Kino can sense dark and thick aura inside the Elder's body.

It wasn't there a moment ago but now, it was so thick that it produced this stench and rotten smell.

One thing for sure is that, the aura isn't coming from the Elder, it was something else. Something much more sinister and dangerous.

You see, any living being has an aura. So the fact that there is a dark aura inside the Elder's body, it's either a small and slicky creature made the Elder's body as its home or a curse taking the form of a living being.

Kino must act fast and help the Elder, cause if the Elder loses to the something inside its body, no doubt the Elder would die and in the worst case scenario, go berserk and kill any living being in the continent! Even strong players wouldn't do much when fought with this ancient!

Then, after the Elder massacres all living being in the continent, it is guaranteed that the Elder would die. This is due to the change of the world's essence. Again, when one is trying to destroy the world or try to imbalance it, the world essence would act and notice the other ancient creatures.

Back to Kino, she leaps forward like a grasshopper but before she does that, she slightly crouches then her body shoots upward and leaves spider web crack on the ground. She also had to half close her eyelids to prevent any dust entering her eyes and with her Aura Scan still activated, she would know what's in front of her. She's pretty much similar to bats but bats use sounds while Kino uses her aura, wonder what's the term for using aura as a sense of direction you may ask.

Bats use sound waves to navigate and its term is echolocation but a human uses aura to navigate? The heck? Well, joke aside, the term is called Aurolocation.

As she came out from the thick dust, she looked up and saw the gigantic body of the Elder. Her body flies in a straight line before ramming herself to the Elder's body, though, before that, she changes her posture to that of hugging.

So, at the time her body hit the Elder, she quickly hugged it as if hugging a huge bear doll. However, considering what she hugs right now is a half human centipede, and to make it more precise, what she hugs right now is the centipede part.

The scale is tough and hard, it was like metal armor that was made by using rare ores by the hands of professional blacksmith! In other words, the scale is so hard that it feels like she's hugging a statue after being thrown by a catapult.

It was a weird way to put it but it was like that, well anyway. After that, she climbed to the left and right, up and down, trying to find the most comfortable position to help the Elder.

Just to remind you, the Elder's upper body stands straight like a pillar. If she wants to help the Elder while four limbs are occupied, how can she help it? Well, that is her plan when arrived but now, what can she do? It seems she forgot the fact that the Elder is standing straight and facing the sky as if a pillar.

She then sighed when realized what was going on. She then thought to herself, it happened again! Why does my brain's thinking speed become very slow? Hmm?

She was frustrated when learning that her brain's thinking speed had slowed down but then, she noticed something. The black thing from the Elder's body actually releases this very small black dot. It was barely visible by the eyes and it was the size of a sand, yes, a sand and it was also much smaller.

Kino wasn't sure how she was able to detect such a small thing, especially in the night! Although the moon is exuding its calm light, it was a dim one. Heck, even if grandpa sun is here, Kino still couldn't detect such a small thing with her eyes.

So, there's only one conclusion, it was her body. It seems that her body gets tired already to this small black sand that keeps entering her body through the skin pores. Must be tough for those immune system cells, especially those platelets, protect those platelets!

Anywho, the fact that the body gives signals to the brain about something mischievous keeps entering through the pores and somehow affects her brain, is a way of telling her to do something and if not, it's going to get worse.

Thus, understanding her body's intention, she cloaks her entire body with one of her aura techniques, Aura's Light Protection. As the name implies, it protects her body with minimum defense that could prevent the small dark sand from entering her body.

Her aura energy is decreased by a small amount and adding she just uses it to form a barrier to protect from the Elder's sudden attack. As of now, her aura energy is eighty seven percent, it seems a lot but she can't be sure if it was enough to help the Elder.

You may ask, why would she do this much for the Elder despite both of them just met? It was more like a cat getting hurt and you just can't leave it alone, even cold people would help it!

Kino was like that, she just can't leave an ancient creature alone, especially when knowing one was attacked by some kind of ancient curse or illness. If she doesn't help the Elder, she would regret it, that's for sure!

If you think Kino helps the Elder for later benefits, well, that's true actually but still! She help the Elder because she doesn't want to have any regrets!

Her brain is back to normal after her aura protects her and after a few winks of thinking about how to help the Elder with four limbs occupied, she decides to help the Elder like this. She then opened her weapon inventory, and equipped herself with a sharp dagger. This dagger is called Zoro_the_dark, yeah it's a random name but she got this item from a player killer!

Although sharp, it wasn't the case for this tough scale. It was more like any ordinary blade, no, maybe any ordinary dull blade.
