Chapter 3 - That Time of The Month?

Riley's POV:

"So what'd you think of the movie?" Logan asks.

"Meh it was okay." I reply, standing and stretching my body. All four boys just looked at me with pointed expressions, more so, Mr-star-of-the-movie.

"What now?" I ask.

"Nothing." They all say in unison.

"Alrighty then, would you look at the time?" I say clapping my hands to get their attention "it's getting late, Sly and I need to go."

"What? Already?" Nate's blue orbs darken with his sadness. "But that was the first movie."

"I know," I pout, feigning sadness "but I have rehearsals in the morning."

"Can't you skip rehearsals?" Logan suggests.

What the fuck did he just say?

"I have never skipped a rehearsal in my life." I voiced, feeling very insulted that he would even suggest such a thing.

He tried it.

"You're so uptight." Mr-I-am-going-to-figure-you-out mumbled under his breath.

"Excuse me, do you have something to say?" I challenge.

"Nope, nothing. Nada."

"No,no, I could've sworn I heard something from you." I press, taking a step in his direction.

Mr-I'll-just-say-stuff-under-my-breath-and-not-have-the-balls-to-say-it-outloud just smiles brightly at me.

"Why can't you guys just stay here?" Logan questions. "There is more than enough space. You can go sleep while we watch more movies."

"No." I say at the same time Sly says "we'd love to." I give him my best glare but he just sticks his tongue out at me.

Motherfuc-

Breathe Riley.

In-in-out.

Good. Now use your words.

I don't want to stay here! I want to go back home, to the comfort of my bed. I want to wake up in my pajamas and shower in my bathroom. I want to have a choice in regards to what makeup I want to wear and what clothesI want to wear!

Ugh this sucks!!

"If you're tired I can show you the room you'll be sleeping in." Logan stands up and gestures for me to follow. "I hate you all" I mutter under my breath. Before following him, I grab my bag that had my dance clothes. At least there was extra spandex shorts and a sports bra in there.

That made me feel so much better.

Logan led me up the stairs of his gorgeous home and down a hall to the left of the stairs and into a room, that was the third door on the right. The room itself was gorgeous - just like the rest of his home - there was a queen sized bed, a mini walk in - empty - closet and an ensuite bathroom. I was in awe.

"You can sleep in here." He spoke as he stood in the middle of the room. "I have extra clothes if you have nothing to sleep in."

"Please." I nodded.

Logan left the room in a haste then returned seconds later with an oversized shirt and a pair of boxer shorts. I grabbed the clothes gingerly. "Thanks."

"Oh it's no problem." He assured "but if you need anything else , just let me know. My room is the last one down the hall."

"I'll be fine thanks."

"Well then good night." He made his way out the door.

"Night." I whispered.

After Logan left I decided to make use of the ensuite bathroom. I ran the water in the bath and poured some bubbles. The bubbles were strawberry and vanilla scented and as I stripped out of my clothes and got into the bath, I was completely relaxed and at ease.

Oh this felt good! This felt really good.

Spending what must have been and hour in my little pool of serenity, I got out and jumped into my spandex and the clothes Logan had given me. I had to suppress the urge to smell the shirt because it smelled just like Logan's intoxicating musk.

My dark hair was wet but I honestly couldn't be bothered to dry it so I just tied it up in a messy ponytail and went to sleep. It must've been around three in the morning when I woke up. There was a muffled sound that irritated me and kept me from sleeping. I've always been a light sleeper, even as a kid, which made me love my sleep even more - I got really angry when people didn't let me have my beauty sleep.

Pushing the covers off my body, I got out of the comfortable bed. The muffled noises kept getting a little louder and I must admit, I was curious to see what was going on. I got out of the room and made my way to the noise. As I walked the halls, I could hear snoring coming from the rooms further down the hall from me.

"What do you want me to do? I don't have time!" Nathan was yelling into his phone. "I don't know make a plan!" A woman's voice spoke from the speaker "seriously Nathan I haven't seen you in a week. How are we supposed to be in a functioning relationship if we don't see each other?"

"I'll make a plan! But you know I have 'The Witch-hunt appearances all month." He respond, seeming frustrated.

"You better! I miss you!" The girl on the other end whined.

"I know." Nathan sighed defeatedly. "I miss you too"

"Okay I have to go, they're calling me on set." She told him. "We'll talk later."

"Alright bye babe." Nathan replied.

"Bye. Love you." Then the line went dead.

Nathan hunched his shoulders and hung his head.

"Trouble in paradise, Sir Nathan Park?" The words tumbled out of my mouth before I could register that I was talking. Nathan snapped his head up at the sound of my voice and turned in his seat to look at me. His eyes were tired with sleep and I felt a pang in my chest. "Shit, are you okay?"Why was I feeling sorry for Mr-my-smile-is-infectious-but-my-frown-is-heartbreaking.

"What are you doing up?" He asked. His voice was gruff and husky. If I wasn't feeling sorry for him, I'd be relishing at the sound of his sexy voice.

Sexy voice?

Ew!

Riley stop. Bring yourself towards yourself.

"I'm a light sleeper." I shrugged, walking over to where he was sitting and pulling a chair right next to him.

"Go figures." He mumbled.

"What does that mean?"

"It means you're weird." He shot back.

"I am not weird!" I yelled, forgetting where I was.

"Shhh!" Nathan covered my mouth with one of his veiny, colossal hands and held my head still with the other. He was touching me.

He.

Was.

Touching.

Me.

My heart stopped. My breath, it hitched and got caught in my throat. The areas where our bodies came in contact flamed and a low body wrecking shiver settled all over my body. I immediately avoided his gaze.

Don't look at him Riley. Don't do it!

Just keep your eyes on anything other than hi-

Damn it Riley!

I looked at him.

His eyes were a deep chocolate brown. The dim kitchen light made them a little brighter, the visible tiredness did nothing to hinder the intimate intensity he peered at me with.

His lips.

Oh my soul his plump lips!

They were a deep pink and I couldn't tear my eyes from them.

Riley stop being a pervert!

"People are sleeping." Nathan said after a moment of silence. I nodded and gestured to his hands - over my lips - with my eyes.

"Oh right I'm sorry." Nathan removed his hands swiftly.

"That was uh.." I couldn't find the words to complete my sentence.

"I was just trying to keep you quiet."

"Your methods are...unorthodox." I added.

"They're uh..I...uh...yeah, I guess so." I giggled at the way he stumbled over his words.

Giggled?

Oh gosh, someone kill me please.

"You know you didn't answer my question." My curiosity was getting the better of me.

"Which one?"

I gave him a point look "you know which one."

"I honestly don't remember." He chuckled at my frustration.

"Are you okay Nathan?"

"Why? Do you all of a sudden care?" He taunted. Did I care? I mean, I'm sure it's one of those curiosity bugs.

Nathan's eyes grew a fraction "you do, don't you?" He mused.

"I don't care, I'm just curious." I mumbled, getting up from my seat.

"Wait!" He grabbed my wrist and stopped me from moving.

"What?" I groaned, mostly because of the fire that had now settled in my wrist.

"I'm sorry. Please stay." Those eyes. Who could say no to those eyes? I sat back down and looked at him expectantly. Nathan didn't say anything for a moment and I was getting very impatient.

"Nathan ." I pressed, nudging his thigh with my knee.

"Have you ever had girlfriend issues." He asked.

"Nope." I replied in all honesty.

"Obviously not 'girlfriend' issues but you know, relationship issues." He clarified.

"No."

"No? You've never had relationship problems? What's your secret? Cause you know I really need tips on how to ma-"

"I've never been a relationship." I cut him off.

"You've never been in a relationship?" Nathan was shocked. His face said it all.

"No." I said for the third time.

"What? But how? Your gorgeous!" He blurted.

My face ran hot and my blush was here to stay.

"I am?" I asked.

Bitch of course you are!

"Uh...yeah...I..mean if your into that sort of stuff."

What?

"Forget I said anything." He quickly said.

"Uhm. Alright." We sat in an awkward silence for a couple of minutes. I wasn't liking it at all. Looking around the kitchen, I was contemplating my next move.

"I'm going to go back to bed."

"I should go to sleep as well." He stood up and waited for me to get up as well.

"Should I walk you to your room?"

How old are we?

"You don't have to." I mumbled, walking past him.

"Riley wait." Nathan called after me but I didn't want to be in this situation any longer.

"Riley!" He whisper shouted.

Instead of walking up the stairs, I stopped and turned to face him.

"You should go sleep. You look terrible."

"Wait." He insisted. "I'm so frustrated because I literally have the best girlfriend in the world" a lump made its home in my throat and a sickly feeling stirred in my stomach. My chest felt heavy and my heart fell. Why? I couldn't even tell you even if I knew "and we've been dating for quite a while but, like, things just aren't the same anymore. The more opportunities I get, the less time I have for a personal life. I try - God knows I try - so hard to make time to see her but it's too hard. She's filming a movie right now and I just finished filming a sequel and on top of that I'm in between projects. I have press conferences in like four different countries next week. Not to mention I'm still filming 'The Witch-hunt' and I have interviews for that as well. We made a rule to not see each other on set because, you know, it makes her uncomfortable and that's the last thing I want." He took in a well deserved breath "basically to answer your question, I'm not okay."

Wow,hectic.

The Nathan in front of me was completely different to the Mr-I-am-making-it-my-mission-to-figure-you-out Nathan. He was vulnerable, he wasn't hiding behind his undeniably heart stopping, panty dropping, mouth watering, knee buckling smile. He was being human.

Stop feeling sorry for him!

"Please say something." He spoke barely above a whisper.

"I don't know what you want me to say." I looked down at my feet "I have no idea how to put myself in your shoes. You work a lot and you are successful which is great for you. You're in a relationship with someone who just wants to spend time with you, which is also great for you. That's such a tough life." The last part came out a little bitter. "Your stresses or life problems aren't the same as normal people problems. I can't help you. I don't know what you want me to say."

"I'm just asking for advice. What does my success have to do with anything?" He questioned.

It was obvious he was confused and I was the source of his confusion.

Heck I was confusing myself.

"Advice from the rude alien girl?" Why was I being emotional?

Ugh I'm such a girl!

"That's ironic." With that I bounded up the stairs and ran to my temporary room. I don't know why I was acting like an idiot. I was the one who asked him if he was okay! Now I was saying things that didn't make sense and getting all emotional. Oh goodness was it that time of the month?
