"What a clean cut!"
I praise myself after looking at the severed bull head.
with only one swing of my blade, I can cut his head perfectly without any damage to the body. I can cut the bull head cleanly because of my magic, maybe I can still cut his head with only my pure strength. my strength right now is so strong for a normal human, I can take down an elephant with one punch without any magic, that was what I feel. but to make sure if I can cut the bull head cleanly I use my magic, It is not funny if our hard work became useless because I failed when I decapitate his head. To kill the bull, I use a combination of speed magic and enhance the sharpness of the blade. if it's my pure power from 5000 years ago maybe it will be impossible for me to cut it cleanly. right now is a different case.
"What a nice cut! with this the money in the next 3 years already secured"
Jade praised me and told me the worth of selling this golden bull.
"even so my goal is not money, so I will still expect you to help me okay Jade?"
I remind her of my goal of this journey. I'm happy that I got so much money, but it is quite complicated. the village already gives me so much that's why I don't need the money for now. for me, money is the cursed item that brings back my trauma. even though it is cursed but I still need it, no matter what money is always a necessity in this world.
"I know I know, don't worry about it Len Len hyahaha"
Jade laughs happily while she cleans the blood of the bull with her water magic and closes the wound of my cut with ice magic so the remaining blood wouldn't pour down on her bag, she put the bull corpse into her bag. magic is really convenient. no matter how many times I see it, it's really impressive this parallel bag because of space magic this thing can even store stuff bigger than the bag. if magic is been found in the modern era, maybe it will make a good combination with science.
"are you already finish Jade?"
I asked jade, to know are she already done put the bull in her bag.
"yep, it's done"
"then let's continue our journey to the city"
"yep"
we then continue our journey, the city is already close. Jade said if I use magic to enhance my sight I will see the city from here, well, even if I don't use enhance magic I can see the silhouette of the city from here.
from what I see, there's a big wall in front of the city, the wall likely surrounding the city and make a city looks like a though fortress. the walls were very high, the height approximately 5 meters high. I can understand why the city have a high wall like that, maybe because the city place is close to the dangerous forest that's why they make a wall that high, it's to protect them from the monster flood.
"Wow! what a high wall"
I commented.
"Mmmmm after seeing this wall.., now I'm sure that the purpose of this city is to control the monster who comes from the forest!"
"you're really sharp aren't you Len?"
"from your explanation about the city, everyone can know about it too you know!"
"is that so?"
"yes, is really easy to understand the intent of all the country of this continent. they use this city to gather adventure and then control monster flood, while they're scraping from the crystal and the goods from the monster, to make a weapon, armor, medicine or maybe buying the monster meat for the food. but what I don't understand is why this city full of profit becomes a neutral city? why didn't one of the surrounding countries claim this city?"
I don't know why the real reason this city becomes a neutral city. but from what I think about this neutral city the possibilities it became neutral was because in the past may be one of the surrounding countries claim this region but because of the constant attack from the monster flood, the city is on the verge of destruction. the country that didn't want to lose this region to the monster then makes a proposal to the surrounding country, to make this region becomes neutral. The reason is there's so much a city in Nation border that need more attention than this city, the city from border nation is more important. The danger of another nation that attacks is more troublesome than losing this city. they can't use any more money to the city which is always near destroyed from the attack of the monster flood and this is the only way for the country to reduce the expense to fix the city. Because of the constant attack of the monster and to divert the hate from another country who jealous of their country who monopolize this city that have abundant crystal and the goods from the monster. thus this region is becoming neutral. another country that wants to make a profit from this region must join hands to protect this city and divide the expense to fix the city from the attack of the monster. all the nation then leave it to the governor to divide equally the profit of monster goods and crystal, the guild was the one who supervises the governor so that the governor equally give the profit to each nation.
well, that's was what I guess though.
little did I know, my guess about the city who become neutral was right on the spot. but that is story for another time.
"hmmmmm, well... maybe you're right I don't know too much about this city, what I know is this city is a neutral city that have under control from all this nation from this continent"

"ahaha, I just curious, I will stop thinking about it. for now, I want to enjoy my time in the city"
"yeah!"
finally, not long from our place, we can see the silhouette of the city clearly from here, and before we know it, we already arrive at the gate.
"look we finally arrive and it's really perfect timing before the day becomes dark"
in front of the gate, there is so much line of people who want to get into the city. we get in the line to get in the city, there's an inspection from the guard of the city gate, while we waiting for our turn we chatted a little bit.
"now I can get some rest with a nice bed and by the way, Jade, are we gonna come to guild place first? or booking our lodging first?"
I asked jade.
"Mmmmm, I guess you should go to guild place first. I want you to quickly register at the guild, oh and I forgot to tell you, the guild master in this city is one of our people from the village. keep it secret okay! there are not so many people who know about our village after all and maybe he will want to meet you if I introduce you to the guild"
I was surprised when Jade said that the guild master in here was one of our people from the village, which she mentioned from the first time we took our journey.
"heee, is that so? I hope that he/she didn't bow to me when seeing me haha"
it's really troublesome if someone who have a high rank like guild master is bowing to you, it will draw attention to other people and maybe bring another problem.
"hyahaha, don't worry about that, I will tell him first about you coming to the guild first, while you can register at the guild lobby"

not long after we chat, the line is already reduced and we are the last people in the line, this gonna be my first time, took a step at the city in this Era.
