A week has passed since Dad and Hans dropped the bombshell and Hans has told me to think about my decision carefully. He even went as far as listing the pros and cons of a marriage with him. I have never seen Hans so serious before. Thinking over it every day is a big headache but my brain is telling me that this is the best step to take in my situation. If I give birth without a father, my dad will suffer from worry and society will probably give my family a hard time.
Although I know Hans is doing this in my best interest, I am still miffed that he didn't discuss it with me before going to my dad. Hiding under my covers in case I get caught, I scroll down my phone.
Heir and Recent CEO of The King Company, Panda King Set To Marry Daughter of Lake Cosmetics Next Month.
Under the headline is an image of Panda King and Ciarra Lake standing together at a party. They look like a perfect couple but am I the only one who is worried about his phobia? I can't see any discomfort on his face and Ciarra looks beautiful in an elegant purple dress.
Get a grip Tina. This has nothing to do with you.
Why am I worrying about him when he looks so happy? Not to forget how cold and harsh he was to me last time.
Fine. I will forget about him. Before he gets married, I will erase him from my heart. Pushing the covers off me, I walk out of my room. I am now on the ground floor since Hans worries about me so much.
"Hans, I've made my decision." I say firmly.
He is watching football on TV. I switch it off to get his attention.
"Hey Tina!" He whines.
"I need to talk to you about my decision." I repeat.
His green eyes flicker to me and he nods and pats the sofa. "Sit down."
"I've decided." I take a deep breath, "I agree to your proposal."
Hans' forest eyes brighten in excitement, "For real?"
I nod, "I will marry you Hans." My voice is shaky but Hans looks so happy as he punches the air.
"You won't regret it right?" He asks after calming down. I know he won't force me into anything.
"I won't. I am already grateful that you are doing this for my best interest and to save me from this situation." I glance at my stomach.
"Tell me if you ever want to leave Tina." He says quietly, "I won't stop you."
I lean forward and hug him, "Thank you Hans."
"Let's look forward together Tina and forget the past." He says softly, hugging me back. His words hold more meaning for me. He wants me to forget that man. I agree with him. I need to forget everything which happened between us and start a new life with Hans.
As the month comes to an end, I seem to be thinking more about the famous wedding which will take place at the end of the coming month. Hans and I have decided to get married in two months without any ceremony and just our immediate families present.
Once we are married, I will still have a few months before I give birth and Hans has offered yet again to be my saviour and take the status of the baby's father. I know I am being selfish by accepting Hans but that is the only way to protect my child and move away from Panda King. More than anything I want to see my father happy.
Startled at my ringtone, I pull my phone out of my pocket and glance at the screen. It's a number I don't recognise. I decline the call and continue watching TV with Hans. After a few minutes, the same number calls again.
"Why don't you pick it up? It might be urgent." Hans says.
"It's an unknown number."
"Maybe one of your contacts have changed their number?"
"Fine, I'll check." I say and pick it up.
"Hello, is that Tin?" It's a female voice. Where have I heard it before?
"Yes it is." I answer unsurely.
"Tin! I miss you so much!" She says loudly.
"You are?" I ask.
"Oh sorry Tin. It's Liana King. Where did you disappear to? I miss you and so does my brother."
Liana! How did she get my number? We never exchanged our numbers before because Panda would always interrupt when she would ask.
I scoff at the mention of her brother. Why would he miss me?
"I decided to leave." I lie, "How did you get my number?"
"Your brother gave it to me." She says nonchalantly.
"Mint? How do you know each other?" I ask curiously.
"We don't. He gave it to me after I visited your house for five consecutive days. How is that guy your brother? He was so stubborn and wouldn't tell me where you were." She pauses, "Oops, sorry Tin."
I laugh. My brother is even more stubborn than me. "It's okay. I know how Mint is." I stop. Did she tell Panda anything? "Um... Liana, d-did you tell anyone else that you went to my house?"
"No, Panda has been busy with Ciarra."
I wince at her name. Why is it still effecting me?
"Are you alright Tin?" Liana asks in concern.
"I-I'm fine. How have you been?" I ask. As long as Panda isn't involved, I am happy with talking to Liana. She is someone whom I can sincerely call a friend.
"I've been fine but I was so worried when you suddenly vanished. Tin, did my brother do anything to you?" She asks seriously.
"N-nothing Liana. It has nothing to do with him." I say hesitantly.
"Then will you return Tin?"
"I don't think so. Sorry Liana." Feeling a little guilty I add, "We can meet up if you want to."
"Of course Tin! Let's meet soon." She sounds excited again. I smile. Liana is a really cute and kind girl. How is she related to that cold man?
