Acting as his chauffeur and then stalker every day has become a daily routine. I yawn as I sit in the car, waiting for him to come. Maybe it's because I am menstruating but I am feeling really tired even though I slept so much.
Tapping the steering wheel until he finally opens the door and sits in the back seat. I pull my sunglasses over my eyes as I start driving.
He has been cold towards me recently for a reason I don't know. I sigh as we travel in silence. I'd rather he be rude and tease me like usual than stay silent like this.
As I move onto the next lane, I glance into the side mirror. They have definitely been following us.
"Pan, I'll have to speed up. Make sure you have your seatbelt on." I say as I watch the two motorbikes following us in hot pursuit.
"What's going on?" He says, confused.
"There are two motorbikes following us. I'll have to drive faster to get rid of them." I explain quickly as I step harder on the accelerator.
As I change directions and drive randomly, swerving from lane to lane, the motorbikes don't look like they are giving up.
I turn down corners and side streets, trying to lose them but they are still hot on our tail. Glancing around, there's a forest on the left. The only way to hide from them is to leave the car.
"I'll count to three and we will jump out." I say as I drive along the border of the forest.
"What?! We will definitely die! Are you crazy?!" Pan exclaims.
"If they catch up, we will definitely die but if we escape into the forest, there's a chance of survival. I bet they even have guns on them." I say hurriedly.
"One." I start counting as the motorbikes approach.
"Two." With the helmets on, I can't see the drivers.
"Three!" I shout and fling my door open and jump out of the moving car.
I sigh in relief as Panda jumps out too but the relief is short-lived when we hear the sound of gun shots being fired. I hate being correct sometimes.
"Come on." I say quietly as I grab Pan's hand tightly and pull him inside the forest. I have a gun too but it will be best to use it in close range.
As we walk deeper inside, I glance back to check on Pan. He looks tired but we can't stop for long. "Let's find somewhere to rest." I say.
He nods, "O-Okay."
We find a small opening which is surrounded by bushes. "Let's stop here for a bit."
Pan seems relieved as he sits on the big rock.
"So who have you angered recently?" I ask casually as I drink some water. I only brought one water bottle. "Here." I pass the bottle to him. Pan must be really thirsty because he drinks from it without hesitating.
"No one." He says.
I raise an eyebrow. "They wouldn't be chasing you with guns like this for no reason."
"Maybe it's those guys from our competitors. They weren't happy when we won the bid last time." He thinks aloud.
"I have a gun in case things get out of hand but we will have to lie low for now." I say. When I jumped, I completely forgot about my stomach pain but as I sit on the rock, I bend over as it hits me.
"Tin, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Pan seems worried as he walks towards me.
I smile with my teeth gritted, "I-I'm fine."
"You're sweating a lot. Are you not well?" Pan asks and he places a hand on my forehead.
Quickly, I move away from his hand. "I said I am fine." I say stubbornly.
"You're burning up though." Pan says.
I glare at him as the pain increases, "Stop caring about me like you usually do! You're always so cold to me so be like that now. I'm fine!" I feel bad about shouting at him but I can't let him find out that I am a woman.
Suddenly, we hear heavy footsteps nearby and without a thought, I fling myself onto Panda, covering him in case of any danger. As I lie over him, I slide out my gun from the holster around my waist.
"Tin"
I quickly cover his mouth with my hand as a person approaches the area we had just been in.
"I'm sure they must be somewhere nearby." The man says confidently as we hear another set of footsteps.
They don't seem to be leaving anytime soon.
"Pan, do as I say." I whisper as the men walk around. "Run away now. I'll confront them." This is the only way to guarantee his safety right now.
"B-but what about you?" He whispers.
I cover his mouth again, "There's no time for you to worry about me. Just go whilst I distract them."
He reluctantly nods and as I jump onto my feet, I give him a push. Pan runs away just as the men's eyes simultaneously turn to me.
Now that I can see them clearly, there are two men, both armed with guns and they have their faces covered in a full black mask. Fortunately, I already have my gun in my hand.
"Why are you chasing me?" I ask as I walk towards them with my gun in front of me.
They both hold out their guns too, aiming at me from each side. "Not you. Where is Panda King?"
Smirking, I answer, "He's obviously not here. You followed the wrong person."
"Don't make us do this the hard way. We were hired to get rid of Panda King, not you. We will let you go unharmed if you tell us where Panda King is." One of the men say.
"If you want Panda, you have to get through me first buddy." I retort. A cowardly enemy actually hired these hitmen to kill Pan? What has he been getting up to?
One of them suddenly runs and punches me, right in my stomach. The stomach pain is still there and it stings where he punched me. My anger flares as I kick him hard in his private part. He yells and rolls onto the ground in pain.
Glancing around, I can't see the other man anywhere. Did he run away? I walk around carefully, surveying the area.
Just as expected, he is still here. He shoots at me from behind a tree but I manage to dodge in time.
I shoot back and run deeper into the forest. I can only get him if he comes into close range. As I predicted, he chases after me, shooting.
The trees make a great shield as I hide and shoot back. Once he is only a meter away, I shoot at him. It hits him squarely in the back and he groans loudly in pain.
Just as I get ready to run and find Pan, I feel a sudden sting in my upper arm and pain floods through me. I stare at the blood suddenly erupting from my arm. The man had enough strength left to shoot me, even after getting shot himself.
Damn it!
