Chereads / His Beloved Bodyguard / Chapter 14 - Chapter 12

Chapter 14 - Chapter 12

It takes three days until I am fully recovered. Panda must have ordered his servants to look after me well because they kept checking up on me every hour whilst I was stuck in bed.

I still can't make heads or tails of Pan's real personality. Sometimes he seems cold and harsh whilst at times like these he is a soft, gentle and caring employer.

"Why are you here?" He asks as I wait for him outside the car. The police managed to track down and return our abandoned car after we had given our reports about the attack although I doubt it would have made any difference to Panda King since he would have a spare car ready from the hundreds he owns anyway.

"I'm doing my job." I say nonchalantly.

"Right." He mutters coldly.

What is wrong with him?

"I have a meeting later tonight with one of our clients so you'll have to accompany me." He says as he scrolls through his iPad.

"Sure." I say as I drive. My wound still hurts but it's not as bad as it was in the beginning.

"How's your arm?" Pan asks.

I glance at him through the rear view mirror. "It's fine."

The whole day is spent following Panda King like a stalker as usual. I have to pretend to be his personal assistant at work. I understand why my wage is £3000 now. Not only am I his bodyguard, but also his "girlfriend" and personal assistant.

"Make me some coffee." Pan says as he signs some documents.

I snort, "I'm your bodyguard."

"And my personal assistant so go and get me a cup of coffee." He says without looking up.

This man is seriously testing me.

I smirk as I head to the kitchen and make his coffee. I add the special ingredient and bring it to his office.

"Here." I say with a straight face.

He takes it without looking away from his documents and drinks.

I cover my mouth as I watch his reaction.

"AH! HOT! HOT! HOT!" He screams as he spits it out.

"It's coffee, what did you expect?" I smirk.

He glares at me, finally looking away from his work.

"Y-You!"

I shrug and wink. "It's definitely hot."

"TIN! HOW DARE YOU ADD CHILLI TO MY COFFEE!" He shouts angrily.

"You wanted to have coffee to wake you up, but the chilli worked better than I imagined." I smile.

He angrily walks over to me. I back away as he closes in. "You're really testing me." He says and imprisons me against the wall with both of his arms on each side.

I breathe nervously as he glares at me. I can hear his breathing. What is he doing?

"Um, what are you doing? Did the chilli affect your brain?" I say.

"You still have the mood to joke?" He says indignantly.

"What mood did you expect?" I say, wondering how I am going to escape from here.

"You're really something." He says with a sigh.

"What do you mean?" I ask curiously.

"Just don't do that ever again. I'm trying to work seriously. I don't have time for your nonsense." He says sternly.

I frown, "You shouldn't use me as you please. I was only assigned as your bodyguard, not your assistant."

"How much am I paying you?" He says.

"£3000. Why?" I say in confusion.

"Isn't that too much for a bodyguard? I think at most it would be £1000. So why can't I use you for the amount I am paying you?"

I sigh. Is there even a point arguing with him?

"Fine. Can I go now?" I ask.

He removes his arms and I breathe out in relief as I walk away. This guy has too many mood swings.

"Ow!" I groan as my wound hurts. I must have pressed against it when I was backed against the wall.

"Tin, your wound." Pan says as he glances at my arm.

"I know." I mutter, "I'll go sort it out."

"You're bleeding." He says as I walk to the door.

"I'm no–" My right hand which I touched my wound with is covered in blood. "Damn it!"

"Come here. I have a first aid kit in the office." Pan says, suddenly gentle.

"No. I'll go and clean it myself." I say stubbornly.

"I'm your boss and I order you to stay here or I will fire you right now." He says firmly.

My £3000 can't disappear just like that.

"Fine." I say and sit in his chair. This man is too unpredictable.

He brings the first aid kit and slowly unwraps the blood stained bandage. Dabbing at my wound with the antiseptic alcohol, he cleans the blood as I grit my teeth. Then he neatly wraps it up again in a new bandage.

"Excuse me Mr King..."

We both glance up at the woman standing behind the desk staring at us with her eyes wide and jaws hanging down.

"Don't you know to knock before entering?" Pan says in annoyance.

She looks at us again before she replies, "Um, I did sir but you didn't hear..."

"And you thought it would be fine to enter without my permission?" Pan says sternly.

The woman shakes her head quickly, "N-no. I'm sorry Mr King, I made a mistake."

"I'll be cutting off ten percent of your wage this month. Next time it happens, you will be fired."

"S-Sorry Sir. I won't do it again." She says in fright before leaving.

"Aren't you going overboard?" I say. She probably did knock but Pan was busy with my wound.

"That's none of your business. Just do your job right." He says angrily.

I forgot Panda King is difficult.

"Thank you anyway." I say, gesturing to my arm.
