An hour later.
It was now 11:00 pm. The doorbell rang and Leo opened the door immediately. Then he sat the boys down and told them everything he knew so far.
Now that they were filled in, it was time to meet Kellian. When they got to the door Leo knocked, as promised, before opening it.
Kellian was sitting on the bed staring blankly out the window. She was simply wearing shorts and an oversized T-shirt that covered them. Her damp blue hair draped off her shoulders and down her back. The soft moonlight bathed her entire body causing her damp hair to shimmer. Although she was obviously sad she was breathtakingly beautiful.
All three boys at that moment realized just how beautiful she was. All their hearts had just skipped a beat. Their minds all went black and they just stared.
Eventually, Leo went and tapped her on the shoulder, "Kelly.."
"Yes?" She turned to face Leo.
"The guys have arrived." He pointed to Ryder and Dexter.
"...Hi." She said with seemingly no emotions.
Ryder was shocked he had gotten accustomed to her cheerful and energetic greetings.
"Did you open the box?" Ryder asked.
She shook her head no then pointed to the box on the nightstand.
Leo picked it up and examined it. It was a medium sided royal blue box with intricate designs carved into it. It was sealed shut and had no keyhole. There was only an indentation in the centre of the top of the box which held the most intricate designs.
"How the hell is that supposed to open?" Ryder complained
"Jinx might know," Leo commented.
"How would she know?" Ryder questioned.
"Because I sense faint magic from it," Leo replied.
"Should I summon her?" Ryder asked.
"No. We've got bigger fish to fry. What happened wasn't an accident and we know who did it." Leo stated, sounding very serious.
"What?" Ryder was surprised.
"Heather?" Dexter asked.
"That's right. But there's more. There's a reason why Heather did this and it has to do with Ryder." Leo stated.
"Me?" Ryder questioned.
"She wanted Kelly to bring you to someplace behind the school," Leo stated.
"It's a trap," Kellian warned.
"That much is known but what is the trap? What does she want to do? Either way, we're going." Ryder stated.
"Why?" Kellian was confused.
Ryder smiled confidently, "Obviously because she'll be there. What she did was unforgivable. She needs to pay so we need to go to get our revenge."
"Why is it that the only time I see you smile is when you're scheming?" Leo asked.
"What can I say? Getting revenge for a friend is a great feeling."
"We need a plan," Dexter stated.
"Nope, we're going in fists and claws swinging," Ryder replied.
"Who are you?" Leo asked.
"I'm serious. That mongrel isn't worthy of a formulated plan. She just deserves to have her face punched in a nice brawl." Ryder explained.
"When?" Dexter asked Kellian.
"Tomorrow. After school... Are you sure you want to do this?" She asked with a saddened, worried expression.
"Yes." Ryder answered.
"Absolutely." Leo answered.
Dexter nodded.
"But... I'm bad luck... Everything around me either dies or gets hurt..." Tears started flowing down her cheeks.
"Kelly..." Leo didn't know what to do so he looked to Ryder for help.
Ryder sighed. "Kellian. I'm positive that's not true. More importantly, Stop degrading yourself! That's my job you idiotic Blueberry.
Kellian smiled slightly but she didn't stop crying. The deaths of her father and Kaila kept playing in her mind on repeat.
"Movie?" Dexter suggested.
"Yeah, that's a good idea. Do you want to watch a movie?" Leo asked softly.
Kellian nodded in response. She hoped a movie would distract her mind.
"Then let's go!" Leo said excitedly.
Kellian followed while continuously wiping her eyes and hoping the tears would stop.
Dexter noticed and got her a box of tissues, "It is bad to rub your eyes."
"...Thanks."
Dexter nodded with a smile.
"What should we watch?" Leo asked.
"Comedy." Ryder replied.
"Comedy? ...I'm surprised. You hate doing things for the sake of others if it inconveniences you." Leo commented.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Ryder denied Leo's words.
"You prefer horror movies. If you have a choice in movie it'll always be horror, thriller or mystery." Leo stated.
"Shut up. I just feel like watching a comedy today." Ryder stated.
"Suuuurrrreeee." Leo rolled his eyes. "Anyway, I'll go make popcorn. Don't start the movie without me!" Leo ran off to the kitchen.
Ryder sat in the middle of the large grey U shaped sofa that just happened to be directly across from the middle of the massive 105" TV. Kellian was on his right and Dexter was on his left. When Leo arrived with popcorn he placed the two bowls on the table and sat next to Kellian.
Leo then started the movie and they enjoyed watching it. Halfway through Kellian fell asleep and her head fell on Ryder's shoulder. Ryder looked away from the screen to see her sleeping peacefully.
He then put her head in his lap knowing she'd probably wake up with neck pain if he didn't. Leo noticed put the rest of her on him with her feet resting on the sofa to the right of him so she could be more comfortable.
The boys watched the movie to the end. Then Ryder carried Kellian to Leo's bedroom and rested her gently on Leo's bed. He stared at her for a while.
'Her eyes are puffy she must have cried a lot. She also looks exhausted so it makes sense she fell asleep. I'm going to break every bone in Heather's body... How dare she put my Blueberry through this!... My? Ha! It looks like I'm tired too. I should go to sleep.' Just as Ryder was about to leave Kellian grabbed onto his arm.
"... Please... Don't leave ...don't..leave.. me.....again.." Kelly muttered in her sleep.
Ryder knew she probably wasn't talking to him specifically but he wanted to stay anyway so he went to the guest room where the guys should be sleeping took his sleeping bag and told them where he was going.
"What?" Leo asked.
"Why?" Dexter asked.
"Because I feel like it," Ryder replied.
In the end, they all slept in Leo's room all the boys on the floor in sleeping bags and Kellian in Leo's bed.
Kellian awoke in a strange place. It was a field of flowers. It was a nice sunny day perfect for a picnic. As Kellan looked around her eyes landed on a woman that seemed to outshine even the sun. She was so beautiful that Kellian's heart skipped a beat and she couldn't help but blush.
The woman had white hair so long it reached her ankles. It was flowing gracefully in the light breeze. She wore a large light blue sun hat and a beautiful white dress with blue floral patterns. Kellian found it all quite familiar.
"My diamond!" The woman ran over excitedly and grabbed Kellian's hands. She wore a dazzling smile as her silver eyes glittered.
"Do I know you?" Kellian asked confused.
"It pains my heart to even hear those words! Alas, I must compose myself." She said in an overdramatized way. "My name is Lillian. Lillian Heart!" She introduced herself.
"!" Kellian was sure that was her mother's name.
"Ohhh! Look how shiny your silver eyes are! So pretty~!!! And your diamond hair is so long now! It's all they down your back! Of course, this is expected of MY Diamond! Hehe~" She said proudly.
She cupped Kellian's face, "It feels so great being able to touch you again."
"Umm... Are your my real mother?" Kellian asked.
"Oh... That's right. I don't have a lot of time so I'll have to be quick. Listen carefully." She had a saddened expression.
"Okay." Kellian nodded.
"I'll try to answer a few of your questions that are relevant to the current situation. You have a special ability that makes people trust you and feel safe around you so you may find people who aren't usually nice being a bit nicer to you. It will be a useful weapon if you learn how to wield it properly."
"Umm... Oh yes! That nasty little rat that escaped. She works for an organisation that plans to bring chaos to the world. Chaos Order. Their leader Inferno— Argh!" She coughed up blood.
"Are you okay!?" Kellian was worried.
"I'm fine. That was just a warning. I said too much. There are consequences for altering the future and telling you certain things would alter the future. But look at my little Diamond worrying about my safety. What you've lived so far was the calm before the storm. You including your friends. Your lives about to turned upside down and it only goes downhill from there. There will be multiple storms and multiple times where your lives will be in danger. There is an Imminent threat that will be coming it is unavoidable but it isn't unbeatable. It all depends on how you and your friends, mostly you, handle each situation. I recommend you open that box. What is in there will help you a lot. To open it you must prove your relation to me. You see that box is mine. With my current restrictions, I can't tell you what to do directly. The first storm is today. Whatever happens, needs to happen so you all can grow stronger but I need you to live no matter the cost, okay?" Lillian explained.
"But how do I— You're fading away!" Kellian exclaimed.
"My time is up... Just know that Kian wanted to be here too but he... couldn't. Remember that I love you... My precious Diamond." Lillian stated.
"No don't leave yet! Please!!!" Kellian begged.
"I'm sorry... I'll see you again soon... Stay sweet my precious." She disappeared just like that leaving behind white mist that slowly disappeared.
It was now morning. Kellian woke up breathing heavily. Since Ryder was an extremely light sleeper it woke him up.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"I think I saw her..." Kellian stated.
"Who?" He asked.
"My... real mom." She replied. "She said some things."
Kellian told Ryder what Lillian had just said.
"That's a lot of information. So basically to open the box you gonna prove you're related to her and our lives are doomed to be a mess but we can fix it and she didn't tell you how?" Ryder asked summarizing everything she just said.
"Basically yes. She said she couldn't tell me everything or there would be consequences. She can't tell us what to do but she can influence what we do by giving hints that we have to figure out ourselves." Kelly explained what she learned.
"I see. So this "first storm" must be referring to the fight today." Ryder stated.
"I guess but I can't help but feel like something bad is going to happen...Like we're not ready for what's going to happen... But she said whatever happens needs to happen for us to grow and get stronger..." Kelly stated.
