'Deep breaths... She can't do anything you haven't dealt with before...1...2...3.' Kellian took deep breaths then opened the door.
"You're late," Kaila said firmly. She was standing in the middle of the hallway waiting.
"I'm sorry, Kaila. I was–"Kellian tried to explain...
...But was cut off by Kaila, "I don't care what you were doing! You know you have to come home a certain time to make me dinner!"
"I'm sorry..." Kellian lowered her head and apologized.
"Is that all you can say!? Oh, how could I forget... It is! You know why? Because you are a sorry piece of trash mistake! You give bad luck to everyone one you come in contact with! You are the reason your parents are dead!!" Kaila yelled.
"Parents?" Kellian was confused.
Kaila ignored Kellian's question and walked up to her. Then she slapped Kellian so hard she fell to the ground.
'That smell... Has she been drinking? No, she throughout all the alcohol because she hates getting drunk. Why does she smell like alcohol then?' Kellian couldn't help but smell the strong scent of alcohol when Kaila came close.
"You left early today and didn't make breakfast and now you come home late past dinnertime!! You know what... Yelling at you isn't going to work. But you know what will, don't you?" Her lips curled up into an evil smile.
"No! Please no! Don't! This wasn't that big a deal... Please... don't... make... me!" Kellian knew exactly what she was talking about. She burst into tears and started begging.
"Ugh! Is this supposed to help you? Your crying is giving me a headache. Besides I decide if it's a big deal or not. I haven't done this in a while. This will be a fun stress reliever." Kaila smiled cruelly.
"Hurry up. You don't want to make. If you do there will be consequences." She added then laughed like a maniac while leaving the room.
Kellian quickly ran over to the basement door then paused.
'I can't believe it's going to happen again... This only happened once before... when daddy died... It was so painful... Come on Kellian! Just open the door! The longer you take the worse it'll be! Come on, It can't be that bad. You're older and stronger now. Maybe it won't hurt as bad anymore.' She pushed open the heavy wooden door and began to descend the stairs. Each step creaking beneath her feet.
When she arrived in the basement she walked to the end of the hallway and opened the door. She then stood helplessly awaiting her fate in the cold basement room. Soon her mother arrived with a whip in her hand.
"Good girl. You didn't try to run away like last time." Satisfied, she had a pleased smile. "Be a dear and take off those clothes. I paid a lot of money for those and it would be a shame if they got ruined. It would also be very helpful if you laid down on that table there."
Kellian obediently did as she was told. The 'table' was made out of metal and was cold to the touch when Kellian laid on top of it.
Kellian knew it wasn't an ordinary metal table. It was a torture machine. The basement was divided into five rooms. This one was a large open space filled with torture machines. Why we're there torture machines in their basement? Because this was no ordinary basement. This room actually a torture chamber.
The torture chamber belonged to her father. He was the Alpha of the entire wolf society, otherwise known as, the Alpha King. He and his pack were in charge of protecting and keeping the other packs in order. He used the torture chamber to interrogate criminals.
He had one at his workplace but it was far from his home and he did not want to leave his wife alone for long periods of time since he realized she was pregnant. He got a large house built for all his needs.
"The house has lots of rooms for kids, normal rooms a house needs, multiple offices, libraries and study rooms and below the house there were two research labs, a torture chamber and a temporary prison cells to hold criminals until he could get them to the national prison or back to his workplace.
"Very good." Kaila wrapped the whip around her own neck then began to adjust the machine.
Kaila placed Kellian's hands and feet at each corner of the table. Then she strapped Kellian in with leather straps that locked her limbs in place. The straps were tightened enough to make them uncomfortably tight.
Kellian has never been in this machine before. Back when her father died she was too small for most of the machines. So she was tied up with rope and attached to a machine that lifts her off the ground. This was new to her.
Kaila went for the controls for this machine and lifted the table up. The horizontal table was now vertical. And now it didn't look like a table anymore. It was a big metal wheel with a rectangle in front to support the victims back when the machine is horizontal.
Pieces of the rectangle are removable. Once they were removed it left a shape resembling that of a cross or an X.
Kaila then removed the pieces and the machine revealed it's true identity. It was a metal machine resembling the Catherine Wheel.
The Catherine wheel also known as the Broken wheel was a wooden torture machine used in the 19th century.
The victim's limbs were strapped to the arms of the cross (called a saltire) and beaten with clubs until they broke. Hence the nickname the broken wheel.
Kaila took the whip and with no hesitation began to whip Kellian. Kellian had been abused for years. Her pain tolerance has grown. Each whip still hurt but not enough to make her cry out in pain.
Kaila eventually got tired and stopped using the whip. Kellian soon regretted not crying out in pain because Kaila was mad that she got no response. Even though the whip had caused small cuts on Kellian's body and she was bleeding she wasn't crying and she didn't scream once. This infuriated Kaila.
"I see... you're a big girl now. Let's give you a big girl punishment!" Kaila said in an overly cheerful tone.
"W-what?" Kellian asked, scared of what was about to happen.
Kaila ignored Kellian and hummed happily while she went the other side of the room, picked up a thin metal pipe then returned her position in front of Kellian.
"Did you know the proper tool that goes with this machine is a metal club? That might be too much for you now so we'll be using this pipe. I'm sure it will be more effective and yield better results compared to my whip." She smiled excitedly as she explained what she will be doing.
Before Kellian could Even react, Kaila had started. She hit Kellian repeatedly with the pipe and Kellian cried out every time it connected with her skin. Soon tears began to pour out of Kellian's eyes like a broken faucet. After what felt like an eternity of pain everything went black for Kellian.
"Although the pipe has not broken, I am quite satisfied! Oh... You're unconscious. I didn't say you could sleep! Wake up!" Kaila began to slap Kellian.
"Hmph." She pouted seeing that the girl was unconscious.
Thirty minutes later Kaila came back with a bucket of ice-cold water and dumped on Kellian's head.
"Wake up silly. You still need to clean up. Let me carry you." Kaila picked up Kellian and brought her to the bathroom.
Kellian was exhausted and in pain. She could barely talk and couldn't move at all. Once inside the bathroom, Kellian used all her energy to turn here head.
What she saw was a tub filled water at first she thought it was a normal bath of water but then she noticed all the used lemons on the ground and the water wasn't as clear as it should be. This was a bath of lemon water.
"N-n-n-no.... plea...." Kellian tried her to beg.
"Shhh... Don't waste your energy. You're going need it." She cut Kellian off, smiled like the Grinch then dropped Kellian into the bathtub.
There was a loud splash followed by intense screams of agony.
"Music to my ears–" She was happy but suddenly had the urge to throw up.
"Ugh! That's the last time I go drinking to solve my stress. I feel horrible. I need... a nap." She complained then went upstairs to her master bedroom to sleep.
Kellian screamed until she lost her voice and eventually passed out from the pain.
"Good morning, angel." Kellian's mother greeted with a gentle voice.
Kellian has seen this happen a couple of times before. This version prefers to be called mom rather than Kaila so whenever Kaila seems genuinely nice Kellian tested it, "... Mom?"
"Yes, it's me, sweetheart." She replied brushing Kellian long blue hair.
'She switched personalities again. I believe she has multiple personalities but I'm not quite sure... There's no proof aside from this nice version of Kaila that takes control sometimes... Either way, I like her when she's like this because she actually treats me like her daughter.'
"It's been three days I was so worried!" She stated, worried, looking into Kellian's eyes.
"I'm fine." Kellian gave her a small smile.
"Fine!? Look at yourself! You are not fine. I made you breakfast. Eat up. You didn't eat anything for three days so you need your nutrients." She complained giving Kellian a large breakfast on a breakfast in bed table tray.
"Thank you, mom." Kellian smiled as tears ran down her face.
"Oh, honey don't cry! Your eyes are going to be swollen." She said wiping Kellian's tears.
"It's just so nice that you're the first person I see when I wake up," Kellian explained.
"Oh... Baby, you're going to make me cry... I could have never wished for a better daughter. The consequences were worth it. I regret nothing." She hugged Kellian.
"Mom..." Kellian didn't know how to respond. She was not used to the warmth of a mother's hug.
"Kellian... I love you so much." She said, still hugging her daughter.
"I love you too... mom." Kellian replied, "I wish I could spend every day with you."
"Me too." She said breaking away from the hug.
Looking at the door she decided to say, "Sigh. Don't leave your room. I bought a microwave and mini-fridge. You can heat up food for any occasion. There are also snacks in your closet. I know it's not healthy but it's for your safety. Rest well and don't make too much noise. If you're feeling up to it go to school early on Monday. Okay?"
Kellian was confused but she found it hard to say no this version of her mother, "Okay."
"Good girl." She kissed Kellian on her forehead and left the room.
She then laid down on the couch downstairs. And after about ten minutes Kaila woke up.
'What the hell is happening? how did I reach down here? Why does it feel like I've been crying? I don't think I drank any liquor since that night. I'm so confused! I'm getting a headache.' Kaila complained as she walked back to her room to take a nap to get rid of her headache.
She paused when she was at Kellian's room and pressed her head against the door. She heard nothing, 'Did I hurt her that bad? Three days and she's still unconscious... Maybe I shouldn't have gone drinking... It's such a bad habit to torture people when I'm drunk. But that brat did deserve punishment... just not to this degree.
