'Okay, I think it's time I tell Asher what I want to do... I'm kinda scared.' Thoughts rushed through me head as I waited by the school gate.
After 20 minutes I walked over to a girl. She screamed at the sight of me, "Eeeekkk!!!"
"Oh... Hi?" She said awkwardly.
"W-what are you doing here?" She asked nervously.
"I'm waiting for Asher to come out. Have you seen him?"
"The... Cripple?" She asked a worried expression as she glanced around.
"What happened?" I asked picking up on the look she had when she said that.
"Taylor beat him up so much he had to go to the hospital..." She said in a hushed tone.
"He what!?!?!!" I yelled absolutely enraged.
"Tayloooooor!!!!!!!!!!!!" I went around yelling for his name.
"Uhhh Hello?" Ryland asked confused and a little bit scared.
"Where's Taylor?"
"I thought you didn't like him?" Ryland teased.
"I want to murder him!!!!" I yelled.
"Actually... Now that I think about it... You also bullied Asher before... So you were probably there watching..." I said tilting my head and slowly walking over to him.
"No way are you–" He said stepping backwards, a wary look on his face.
"Ohhh... Ryland~ I'm going to kill you if you don't tell me where Taylor is!!!!" I yelled putting on my most beautiful smile.
"What about not causing trouble?!" He asked now running away from me.
"I don't care!!!" I yelled in response, chasing after him.
When I finally caught up he said, "Have you even checked on him? He might be okay..."
"Fine! If he's hurt really bad none of you are living!!!" I yelled then left the school and started heading towards Asher's home.
I knocked on the door and a gorgeous lady that looked exactly like Asher answered, "Ummm... Excuse me... You must be Asher's sister. Good Afternoon."
"Oh don't flatter me. I'm his mother." She said with an adorable giggle.
"But you look so young!" I exclaimed.
"Oh please, I'm an old lady." She laughed.
"No. You indeed look young. Anyway, I was wondering if you could tell me what hospital Asher is in? I really want to see him." I explained.
"Oh, you must be the friend that plays with him after school. Oh, honey, I'll take you there!" She smiled and we went in her car.
'Aww, his mom is so nice and very pretty too.'
"Your hair is very pretty. Is it naturally that red?"
"Ummm... Yes... Thank you." I said shyly while thinking, 'No one has ever complimented my hair.'
"Awww you're so precious. I'm glad you're my baby's friend. You seem so nice. You even called an old lady like me pretty!"
"Well... You are very pretty... Gorgeous even."
"Oh. I wouldn't mind if... No, I won't ruin the surprise since he is my son after he's probably got something big planned."
"Huh?" I was confused.
"Don't worry about it you'll understand soon."
"... Okay."
~Third Person P.O.V~ ~In Asher's Hospital Room~
"Idiot. I even told you to avoid me so they'd leave you alone." Andy was talking to Asher.
"And dad really wants me to kill you. I knew he hated you but I didn't think he'd go all Psychopath murderer on me. He wants the insurance money to feed his gambling addiction."
"What should I do? If I tell your mom would she be mad at me too? Would you be mad?"
"What am I doing talking to you while you're asleep. Maybe I am going crazy like dad... Before I tell her... Before you guys hate me... I want you to know I never hated you... In fact, I was happy to have a brother, but dad was always watching and if I showed how much I liked you he would... I was and still am afraid of what he'll do to you. He thinks I'm here to kill you and I told him this basket of fruit was poisoned just in case I fail to sabotage your hospital equipment but it's not. I hope you enjoy them."
"It still doesn't excuse what I've done and said to you... I'm sorry."
"Thanks for listening. I'm going to leave now. I'll definitely tell her... Don't worry. I'll expose every plan my father has."
After Andy left Asher opened his and because to cry, "Andy... I forgive you."
~Katelyn P.O.V~
"We're here!" Mrs. Angel said leading the way into the hospital.
"Hello, how may I help you?" A receptionist asked.
"I would like you to show this girl to my son's room. I'm going to buy food. Be back in thirty."
She led me to Asher's room and I immediately ran over to him.
"Asher!"
"K-Katelyn?" He asked, a surprised look on his face.
"Asher oh my gosh! I'm so stupid! If only I had been there! If only I would have never gotten suspended... I would have been there to protect you!!!" I said crying as I threw myself onto him.
"Hey... Don't cry... You got s-suspended for me, right? You were o-only trying to p-protect a friend." He said hugging me and stroking my hair.
"No, you idiot! Because of me, Taylor and Ryland did this to you... Because of me, you're in the hospital!!"
"To be f-fair he did warn me. He told me i-if I made your life h-harder he'd end up in the h-hospital. Haha."
"He did what!? Why didn't you tell me? That's even more of a reason to kill him!" I yelled.
"N-no! You can't get in trouble again!"
"..." I noticed something. 'Is just my imagination or did he just—'
"I don't want you to get in trouble..." Asher started tearing up again.
"Are you crying?" I asked as tears started streaming down his face.
"I... I... I... l–"
"Ummm... Miss Angel? Oh, I'm sorry... I thought you were his mother." A doctor said walking in.
"I'm not but she said she'll be back in a bit," I informed the doctor.
"Wait, who are you?" The doctor asked.
"I'm his friend. His mother said I should stay with him until she returns."
"Then I guess it's fine to tell you since she seems to trusts you... He won't ever be able to walk again..." The doctor explained.
"We already knew this," I said confused.
"No, he would have been able to walk with therapy. His mother just didn't have enough money at the time..." The doctor explained further.
"So... Because of what happened he won't be able to walk... Like ever?" I asked to make sure I was hearing things right so I can properly explain my alibi for the murder I was going to commit.
"No... Even if he could manage to walk again with therapy it would put too much strain of his legs. In other words, it would be painful so I wouldn't recommend even trying it."
"T-thank you, d-doctor," Asher said seemingly not disappointed at all.
'There was only one way he wouldn't be sad... He had already given up all hope of walking again and that's why he didn't get sad. Poor boy. Taylor has to be punished. What did this precious little bean even do to him?'
"Wait a minute..." I said, realizing something.
"W-what?" He tilted his head to the side.
"That Son of a– sigh. It's all his fault and you want me to spare him!?" I asked, angered, clenching my fists till my knuckles turned white.
"Yes of course!" He yelled back and that's when I realized I wasn't just hearing things.
"I knew it! You didn't stutter as much when you were scolding me earlier either!"
"H-huh? I d-didn't?" He asked, a surprised look plastered on his face.
"You know what that means right?" I asked excitedly.
"N-no?" He replied, confused.
"Nevermind."
"W-why?"
"I don't want to help get rid of your cute stutter," I said, pouting.
"W-what?"
"Heyyy~ Did you miss me?" Mrs. Angel said running into the room and hugging Asher.
"Mhm Mhm." Asher hummed.
"I brought back food~ And I got some for you too Hun." She said handing us bags.
"Thank you." I said in reply.
"No problem. Anything for a friend of my adorable baby." She said ruffling his hair.
"What were you two talking about anyway?"
"The doctor said he will never walk again even with therapy."
"No... If... If only I had done it back then you would have been able to walk..." She cried, bursting into tears.
"You couldn't because of money issues right? You shouldn't feel bad." I tried to comfort her.
"We had money... It's just that my husband shares the bank account with me and he said it wasn't worth it. We should wait until we had more because I was already spending a lot of money to remodel the house but... That doesn't matter anymore!"
"But how could a father do that?" I asked, shocked that biological fathers act like too.
"H-he isn't my f-father," Asher said looking out the window.
"Stepfather." Mrs. Angel correct.
"Oh..."
"I regret listening to him... My baby wouldn't be suffering by now if I hadn't listened to him!" She cried.
"It's fine. It's no one's fault okay." I comforted.
"Sniff... Okay."
"Let's just e-eat," Asher suggested.
