"You're going to work?" Annie asked as the clunking of kitchen utensils mixed with the sound of Dimitri's car keys.
She stared at him waiting for his answer, observing his casual attire; his jeans, and a black shirt. He'll be off somewhere, somewhere that she might not know about and Annie knew that. "Breakfast?"
"You should go home." Dimitri coldly answered, grabbed his jacket in the sofa and took off.
The breakfast is getting cold, and Annie could only do is to follow Dimitri's car as it drove away and his house fell silent like how it was last night. She understood the times that Dimitri was anxious, in his line of work, such a shame to remain calm. However, she feels that this time the burden was heavier, she can no longer fathom the hope that they can fix this, but what makes her more troubled is the fact that she doesn't know what to do with this.
As she was covering the food, Annie could only sigh to herself and got her things ready to go.
On her way to her place, Annie saw something on the side of the road, immediately she stepped the break and heard a loud thud on the back of her car. She fell silent as she remembered the person she saw on the sidewalk, Annie went out of her car and roamed her eyes around. *Im sure it was her, Thea. Where did she go?*
"HeY!" someone shouted, it was the driver of the car behind her. It crashed on her car when she suddenly stepped on the break. While listening to the driver angrily shouting at her, it wasn't what that bothered her, it was Thea. *Why does she look so dirty and thin. Where is that girl now?*
"Hey woman! are you even listening!?" The man shouted.
She grimly looked at him and walked towards the man, which made him fall silent and be intimidated at Annie's serious expression. "Im sorry." Annie answered in a sarcastic tone. That made the man even more mad.
"Wha___"
"How much is it?"
"What?"
"How much do I have to pay for you to shut your mouth." Annie asked not breaking her gaze to the man.
The man took a while to answer and observed Annie's overall look. The man smirked and laughed. "50 thousa__"
"Here." Annie mumbled and threw wads of cash into the man's face. Before the man could even be mad at Annie's arrogant behavior he realized how much more cash Annie threw at him. Like a mad dog feeding on its first ever meat in its whole life, the man instantly kneeled down and greedily picked up Annie's cash. Without a single word left the man, Annie walked back to her car and drove around.
For hours, Annie drove around the area but she didn't see Thea again. After realizing the time it took, she noticed how the area is close to Simon's and Dimitri's cafe. Without any second thoughts, Annie drove to the cafe and purchased a coffee, and took the chance to observe the cafe her man and his friend has built.
"Who's she?" a cheeky employee whispered which Annie instantly hear. "I am Dimitri's fiancé."Annie proudly answered and smirked on the employee which made the employee get so annoyed.
"Girlfriend." Simon blurted out as he walked out of the storage room. "As far Theo and I know, Dimitri didnt say nor did mention about engagement, yes?" he added as Simon smirked rolling his eyes to Annie.
The employee's eyes widened, she looked back to Simon and mouthed to him, 'Really?' he chuckled and with this sinister smile he answered. "She's a long-term girlfriend of Dimitri."
This whole interaction made Annie mad and deathly annoyed with Simon, she always knew that Theo and Simon didn't like her but her patience was tested today from seeing Thea to his attitude towards her. "Your know what, your coffee sucks." Annie calmly said and purposely spill the coffee to the floor and smirked seeing that other customers are looking and gossiping about it.
"What are you doing here?"
"Dim?" Simon whispered.
"Didn't expect you to come here. " Dimitri continued. Both Simon and Annie we're so shocked, both not expecting Dimitri's appearance but most importantly, his mood. It seems off. Annie knew how Dimitri wasn't in the state of mind ever since he left early in the morning but seeing him in the cafe gave her chills as his demeanor is even worst than earlier.
"I already told you to go home right?" Dimitri said and took the mop to clean the coffee himself. Everyone is silent, even Simon who is silently beckoning Stacy to help, but Stacy is too scared of Dimitri to do so.
"Where we're you this morning?" Annie asked looking so concerned.
"Work." Dimitri answered and continued mopping. "Now go." Dimitri mumbled.
Annie, with her teary eyes, walked out of the cafe and drove away. Dimitri stopped mopping as soon as she was out of the door and stared at her car staring at the back of it; damaged.
Annie couldn't stop crying while driving home, when she got there her sister met her in the garage. "Why aren't you in school." Annie asked while wiping her tears and went out of the car.
"I dont feel like going."
"Why."
"The classes are so boring."
Annie stared at her hopelessly, thinking about her sister's recklessness and getting tired of it. As she was about to leave, she stopped and stared at puzzled.
"Do you have any idea where Thea is?"
"That's strange, why would you ask about her?"
"I think I saw her today, I'm just not sure__"
"As I remembered, she went to live with Clark, but then, I heard she ran away there too. Now I dont really know where she is."
