"Good bye sir," the night staff greeted as he left leaving Simon with his cup of coffee that had gotten cold and Dimitri on the back alleys smoking a stick of cigar. Simon blankly stared at the smoke he could see from the door, as gave Dimitri's shadow a glimpse.
"What?" Dimitri started feeling ominous with Simon's silence, remembering how he looked at him the whole day. He wanted something from him, it just needed to be asked.
"What's you today?" Simon asked with brows crumpled holding back any words that may sound accusing to his friend. He didn't fail to notice how Dimitri walked up to Thea this morning and how he basically pushed Annie away. The entirety of Thea's shift was nothing but Dimitri glancing at her. He knows well that what he is feeling and what he is thinking might sound and might look possessive to anyone who would know his thoughts. But with Dimitri involved he couldn't stand back and watch.
"Whatever do you mean," Dimitri answered blatantly and took a niff off his cigar.
" I mean you crashed Theo's museum this morning and you even bothered Thea, can't you see how scared she is with you?"
Simon left his coffee and walked in front of Dimitri out of spite. "So, WHAT'S WITH YOU TODAY?" he emphasized.
The two fell silent as Simon stared straight to his friend, crossed his elbows while waiting for him to answer, whose eyes were anywhere but to him. With Dimitri's behavior right now Simon figured how Dimitri wouldn't answer him no matter how many times he ask. Still, he waited for him to speak at least a word.
But the silence made Simon realize, with widened eyes and a terrified look on his face as he took Dimitri's cigar away from him making Dimitri roll his eyes at him. "You noticed didn't you. You noticed how Thea looked the same in Theo's painting in his museum."
Intentionally, Dimitri avoided Simon's gaze and clenched his jaw. "What of it." Dimitri answered under his breath and walked inside the kitchen.
Simon was left in the alley, curios but terrified. He is terrified for Thea. He knows Dimitri, if this thing picked his interest he wont stop until all his questions are answered. "Thea." *I dont wan't him around Thea, who knows of the people this guy in involved I dont want her entangled in his mess. If he is curios then so be it he need to leave Thea alone.*
"Leave Thea alone!" Simon exclaimed as he followed Dimitri inside. Whom he found slumped in the floor with his palms on his temples. He might know what Dimitri is thinking right now. The same questions as what he had when he saw the painting himself. 'How could this be, this is an old painting, they look like an exact copy.' But Simon is concerned for both Thea and to Dimitri. Dimitri have been talking about this weird dreams he had and how he can no longer sleep peacefully at night, he dreams about being killed. *He has a lot on his mind right now.*
Simon's eyes softened looking at Dimitri who look like a mess himself. He sighed and sat beside him. "What are you thinking, tell me. You might go mad." Simon joked.
"A lot of things." Dimitri started.
"Like what."
"My case, the painting, the death threats I've been having...the dreams... and ending things with Annie__-"
"What?!"
"Yes, Annie. I want to let her go."
Simon just looks so puzzled at what Dimitri has said. He is aware of the problems they have been having, the marriage, fixing things and others Dimitri didn't say to him and Theo. Simon just sat there with Dimitri without saying a word letting the silence overtake the two.
"I dont want her to be around me, she is annoying me."
"Hmm" Simon hummed as he let Dimitri talk, letting all those burdens out of him.
"This is crazy, you can say it. We've been together for years, how can this be problem___but I dont think I still love her."
*There it is. This prick just dont want to admit it. *
"So you're breaking up with her?" Simon asked eventually knowing what Dimitri will do in the morning.
Dimitri grunts as he pulls himself up and looks down on Simon. "We'll see," he said and walked away.
Simon heard Dimitri's car as it drove away from the cafe, leaving him alone. With the silence, he gets to think what to do with his feelings. He cannot deny nor hide how he felt for Thea, she is a person whom he treasures, and remembering how he saw her crying before hurts him. But he felt more alarmed, although he must not be feeling this way knowing Dimitri talking about breaking up with Annie and how he approached Thea this morning bothers him. Simon doesn't want to rush things with Thea as it might drive her away from him, she started opening up although there are walls that need breaking down, and it hasn't happened that among the three of them, him, Dimitri and Theo liked the same girl. Perhaps he can no longer remember how Dimitri would be about liking a girl as he liked and loved Annie ever since.
"Why I am I overthinking this, they are just breaking up. Why am I involving Thea in this." Simon whispered and took the keys in his pocket to open a locked cabinet beside him where a bottle of tequila is hidden.
"Yes, Dimitri might pick an interest on Thea, but it should be just because of the painting. " Simon chuckled as he reached for a cup.
"I'll just look out for him around Thea, every time." he whispered and stared on the cup and the tequila in his hand.
" Thea is afraid of him, that should stay the same and nothing will go wrong." He took a sip from the cup.
The silence is making him drowsy, perhaps from the tequila which he never drank in quite a while. He stared in the bottle blankly drank from it.
"She is mine."
