I paced up and down in my room after I received Prim's call. She wanted me to have dinner at her favourite restaurant, with her aunt Vanessa. She told her about me and wanted she wanted to meet me. I didn't really like the idea but since Prim wanted it then why not? I was freaking out badly. It'd been a while since I last went out for dinner and it wasn't with someone's aunt around. It was just me and her...
Going out with Prim alone would totally be amazing. In fact,I was supper excited when she told me about it. I felt over the moon and I had the confidence of a little boy. I knew I'd walk right through a volcano too but all my joy dispersed when she introduced her aunt in the picture. Having her aunt to tag along would really prevent me from fulfilling my agendas. Like really. She told me the dinner will be at Krazy Kangaroo and i at most hated the whole idea of going out. First of all....it was Krazy Kangaroo....Second of all, her aunt was someone I've never met before. I've never seen her before. Not even in a picture. Prim just mentioned of her but never really showed me her picture. I visualized her to be a very good woman based on what she said but that wasn't really enough to analyse her fully. This was going to be the very first time we talk. We meet. And I heard first impressions matter which meant I had to nail this thing and make sure she doesn't look at me and sees flies in the face of love.
That's why I was freaking out.
What if she'd find me unworthy of her niece?
What if she'd think am a threat to her?
What if she'd say am not perfect for her...in case Prim told her,I liked her.
I was so freaking out.
"Hey!!",I heard Prim's voice from behind me and I jerked a bit. I quickly flipped my head to look at her. She was carrying shopping bags. She was smiling and seemed quiet expectant for tonight unlike me on the other hand who was hoping for the night to not come at all.
Liam was helping her carry her bags and I just sit there like a big fat tomatoes looking at them. It should have been me with her. Helping her carry our shopping bags as we'd have been both going out to shop.
"We went shopping", she grinned as they got closer.
I forced one trying to make sure she doesn't notice the tense in me.
"We went to Cra'Yola!", she shouted. She was so excited like a little girl who's won an ice cream lotto draw. I was excited to see her happy but the fact that she was seriously a reprica of my dead friend was freaking me out.
" You.....you....went.....you went...to Cra'Yola?", I asked looking at Liam. He would understand what I was going through right now. He knew what it meant to me if someone went to Cra'Yola. He knew how much of an offence that was to me.
He knew. He knew how I didn't like that place.
It used to be her favorite place too.
"Yeah", Prim quickly replied putting her arm across my shoulder and pulling me onto the couch. I looked at Liam through my shoulder and he just shrugged.
"The robots were so..Zoom zoom zoom..they were everywhere like tiny stars in the sky", she began telling me her experience.
"...can I crayon your ice cream?", she asked in a robotic voice. She was imitating the robot with her whole body. Moving her hands and her head as if she was a real one. I was left amazed. Who knew there was this sophisticated side of Prim ? The fun side of her that behaved like a little kitten and wanted to have fun
" Ooh", was all I could say.
I was really amazed. I stopped listening to her and started figuring out what was going on. I tried to fix the puzzle, connect the dots and get to the bottom of the matter. Everything was so blurred and I couldn't make out which was which exactly.
The universe seriously was really good at bringing back dead people to life. Was Lily back to me in the form of Prim?
Of course not! I quickly canceled that thought. I was insane. Totally in case. I laughed at the thought and Prim laughed too. She didn't notice I wasn't laughing at her story but I aced it. I made it seem so and she suspected nothing. Perfection really runs all over me.
I was certainly insane.
"....the robots say that simply because they mean to put some colour to your meal. I don't know how they do it but trust me it works", Prim continued
" Every meal is white....literally..... So 'crayoning' it simply meant adding colour to it.. I asked them to crayon my ice cream brown and they did. Making it chocolate....",
"I know that Prim", I told her in other words asking her to shut up. All of a sudden I got sick of her blabbering about Cra'Yola. I knew that place even better than her. I knew every corner of it so much better that even the detectives would pick me to go with them for an investigation. I knew every little, tinniest, petite and minute thing about that place. Almost everything which made me realise that listening to her right now isn't going to be effective in anyway.
More words from her and my head will be blown off.
She also used to imitate the robots just like Prim. Each time we went there, she would always explain to me what Cra'Yola was all about and the 'physics' behind the name which I always got sick of. Exactly what Prim just did.
Oh My word.
What the heck was going on?
"How do you know? Have you been to Cra'Yola before?", she asked me suspiciously. I breathed in and out and coughed. To make her think I was clearing my throat and was getting ready to speak. My mouth got dry and words wouldn't really make up in my mind. It's as if I was an infant again and I couldn't speak anymore.
"Er.....", I quickly looked at Liam and made Prim turn around to look at him too. Liam always has words. Always. He's the one person you'd always look at whenever you want to lie and he'd always come up with something perfectly beautiful that no question would dare penetrate it's indestructible coat of lies around it.
" No....he's never been there!",Liam replied.
"Oh yeah...I've never been there before... I just figured out from the word how it all works...", I explained his lie in a much convincing way hoping She'll believe me.
"... Can I crayon your meal?",I said in a robotic voice to snap her out of this ridiculous reality back to her moments at Cra'Yola.
She smiled.
"That's exactly what they say....",
"I know am perfect!", I wore this remarkable smile and waved my hair. She laughed along with Liam.
" Let me show you my dress....",
"Um....isn't it supposed to be a surprise?", Liam asked.
" hmm", I rubbed my chin. Yeah but..not in this case. Am fine with anything anyway, whether I see it now or later,I'll still see it in the end.
"Not really....it will be a surprise when he sees it on me", she smiled even wider. A chill went down my spine and I had an ill feeling. I hope this wasn't another bomb.
I watched closely as she pulled a lilac dress, short sleeved with wings on the sleeves.
It had a band around it's waist that I was so sure crossed at the back and formed an X.
A pale silky cloth was on top of the heavy cloth with tiny diamond-shaped flowers around it's hem.
I've seen this dress before. Just that last time it was pink. Now it's lilac! It was the dress she wore on our dinner as well. We even went with her aunt. Exactly what is going on now, just that this time I was so nervous and last time I was doing just fine.
My life was officially over.
Was I still alive?
I couldn't resist it this time. This was just too much. Too much! I sweated badly. My expression changed from a smile to I don't know what. I just needed to get out of here.
I coughed. Persistently....to buy me some time as Prim ran to get me some water.
"Liam...what is going on? Why do you keep bringing my past.?", I whispered to make sure Prim won't hear us.
"Me??? I have nothing to do with it. She did it all.....it was all her doing....am as shocked as are...", he defended himself trying not to get caught in the words.
"Does this mean Lily's back?", I asked nervously.
"That's not true...that's impossible", he whispered back.
"What are we whispering about? ",we both gasped after we saw Prim right behind us.
"What's impossible?", she asked giving me the glass of water.
"Um....nothing.. Just some man talk", Liam chuckled. Right then, I saw him leave. He went upstairs. That was the Liam I know. He leaves the scene after every lie he has made. He escapes getting caught in his words and end up revealing everything.
"Ooh...O-K-A-Y", she said spelling out each letter.
She looked at me and then took a seat. I could tell she knew we where lying but just didn't want to aggravate the issue.
"I think I should leave. I have a lot to do before tonight",
" Okay,I'll drop you", I said reaching for my keys
"No no...", she quickly denied. " You also need to get ready"
I stood up so that I'd at least leave her at the door.
"Its alright,I'll see myself out", she smiled and headed for the door. A hot chill ran down my spine. I know a red face when I see one. Prim was mad.
*****
" How do I look?", I asked Liam as i fixed my bow tie;who lay flat on his stomach and looked at me.
"Good", he smiled. "stunning"
I was in descent. Descent wasn't my thing but for tonight,it became my best friend. I was wearing a plain pure white shirt and a lilac bowtie. Matching Prim's dress. Dark purple pants and a brown loafers covered my lower appendages. I sprayed my hair one more time to make sure it shone.
I loved shinny hair. I was crazy for it. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen to get a glass of water. Cass was already there and as soon as she saw me,she dropped her lower jaw as well as breaking the mug that was in her hands.
Liam and I laughed.
"I didn't know I have such an effect on women", I spoke within the breath points.
" Neither did I ", Liam patted my shoulder as we walked into the kitchen..laughter still escaping our lips.
" I didn't break it because of you....it's just that.....I just had...well....things just got....", she stammered as she constantly looked at me and then Liam to see who amongst us was actually buying her drama. We both raised our eye brows at her.
"You look good", she pointed at me and made an exit. Now that's the deal!
" You're going to be alright...", Liam began. He poured some water for me and gave it to me.
I drank the whole glass down in one goal. Nervousness, was an ill disease. It made me drink a lot of water. I downed two more after that and a thought crossed my mind thinking that maybe I have polydipsia.
I was so nervous. So nervous I could even feel my self sweating.
"Do you think I should change my shirt?", I asked Liam while running my hands in my hair.
" No!", he shouted.
"Okay okay....no need to shout,am right here", I lowered my dark eyebrows at him.
The doorbell rang and I jerked.
" she's here!", I gasped
"Yeah....we heard the doorbell too", Cass said sarcastically. "B-T-W....isn't the man supposed to pick the lady up?",
"Yeah....but we're doing this the Prim way...", I said and headed for the door
I took a deep breath as I stood behind the door before opening it.
I took in a number of breaths after that. I slowly raised my hand and opened the door.
Lily!!!
Lily?
What was she doing here? How did she get here? Was she having a break from the dark and finally decided to come back to life? My hear raced as if it should jump out of my chest. Happiness over flew in me and some nearly escaped through my eyes. I controlled it though. I was so happy that I couldn't even speak. I slowly looked at each and every part of her making sure I was in the right midst. Her eyes were sparkling in the moonlight, constantly making me look and get lost in them. Her eyelashes were somewhat straightened and had mascara on them which made me think they're calling me each time she blinked. Her eyeshadow was exquisite and.....wow...I just had no more words. Her skin was glowing in the light above us and she looked somewhat light tan. It looked so beautiful and attractive. Am sure if you just put a finger on her shoulder,it'd slide down in no time due to the smoothness of the skin. As smooth as..... I couldn't even think of the right thing to relate it to. She was wearing purple lipstick that was well applied shaping her lips perfectly and making me wish this was a wedding altar already. Her earrings matched the necklace around her small neck and I could tell they were made from the same stone. Her bracelets were a bit different but they looked even much more stunning because the one wearing them was making them sparkle.
Lily....my Lily was back!!
I bet she never goes again!
"Hello", she smiled.
"You look beautiful, Lily", I smiled back. She really looked beautiful. She was in her lilac dress. Her reddish brown hair flowed down her left shoulder all the way to her waist. She curled it. It looked so gorgeous. Gorgeous! She intertwined her fingers together as they met below her stomach. She did that when she was nervous. I memorized every single inch about her.
"How did you get here? I don't remember giving you my home address", I asked her.
"Umm....my aunt drove us here and ...I've been coming to your place for quiet sometime now", she replied, wearing a reassuring smile although it seemed as though she was confused.
"Ooh...aunt Marie is here?", I gasped in delight. Aunt Marie was my second favorite person. She knew just how to win the battle against hunger. When she holds a spoon in the kitchen, you just know you are in good hands. She just knew the way to a mans stomach. She was so good at making meatballs too.
Soooo goooood
"Um....yeah....and it's Vanessa....not Marie", she corrected.
"Oooh she changed her name?", I asked
"Nope...",
"Ooh....okay...", I let out a sigh. "I hope she had fun at her funfair yesterday...", I said.
"Um...she wasn't at a fair yesterday...she was at work....", she explained and she said it in an annoyed bored tone.
What was going on?
It seemed as if Lily and I were talking about different people. She kept denying and correcting each and everything I say about aunt Marie and yet I've always believed what I was saying to be the truth.
Or maybe they were planing to prank me. Last time they did it....I didn't enjoy it! I had to stay in my pile of dirty laundry for like two hours. All because I was promised a gazillion meatballs. Of course I got my meatballs in the end only that they weren't a gazillion.
"Ooh...she didn't attend the fair?", I asked. Suspicion stuck to me like goosebumps.
"Omar....are you okay?", she asked.
Why did she ask that? Did I sound sick? Did I look sick? Again....that question rang a bell!
Are you Okay?
I knew that question. The question that drove me crazy and gave me nightmares. The question that turned me into an enormous creature I couldn't even understand. The question that left me in at a junction.
That's when it all flashed back.
The blood, the chisel...the death... and of course... PRIM!
I was going to dinner with Prim and her aunt Vanessa. This girl at my doorstep wasn't Lily....it was PRIM!! PRIMROSE!!
That means.....she dyed her hair brown!! Reddish brown!! That's why she looked exactly like Lily!! Oh Nuts!!! I wished the earth would just swallow me right now.
I quickly went back in and shut the door behind me.
"Dude!!!!", Cass yelled.
" Why did you do that?", Liam asked.
I could feel their voices thundering all over me. Striking me like lightning from every angle. I could tell Prim was mad. I slammed the door in her face as if I didn't want to go for the dinner anymore.
"Um....I panicked", I tried to explain. Just then...The door opened. Prim got in.
" Is he okay?", she asked pitifully.
Oh My God!! Now she's in the house. Oh Goodness!! I couldn't face her. I felt so weak to look at her right now forgetting that minutes ago all I wanted to do was to put my eyes on her.
"We're trying to find out..", Cass replied in a tone I rather found sarcastic. A simple yes or no would do.
" Oh my God Prim...you look stunning. You look so beautiful. And the curls....wow...", Cass complemented her changing the topic all of a sudden.
"Yeah Prim...you really look amazing...", her boyfriend Liam added in some sugar making the cake too sweet for me to give it a bite.
" Thanks guys, at least awkward turned to less awkward...", she snapped. I knew she was talking about me.
"So.....you dye hair?", Liam asked.
"Okay...okay...okay...I think we're done here", I jumped in to prevent these guys from releasing the tiger. Once its loose, things won't turn out right around here. An unknown fiasco along with a tremendous heartbreak causing Prim to leave and I didn't want that to happen at any cost. I already acted weird plus she must have been having questions hovering over in her mind which where exposed by the question she asked. She was going out with me and I was supposed to be doing what these guys were doing.
"Um...can we leave?", I asked Prim.
"Certainly....", she replied and headed for the door.
I followed behind with sealed lips. I didn't want words to escape them causing more havoc in the territory.
I looked at Liam and Cass who waved at me as I walked toward the door. I closed it and gently followed Prim. We walked down the stairs with Prim taking the lead. We walked quietly to the car and I never dared to say a word as things weren't what I expected them to be. Besides, things were turning out bad each time I dared to make a move.
Like when we wanted to use the elevator, Prim and I reached for the button at once which made me, accidentally, break her glass-plastic golden bangles.
"Am so sorry", I quickly said trying to be at her aid.
" It's alright", she smiled as she took her hand away from me. I felt a sting on my heart. I knew she didn't want me helping so I stood aside. The smile was just the available therapy at the moment. She was the one hurt and yet I was the one feeling the pain. The elevator opened and we got in. It was a little occupied so I had to move Prim against the wall so that nothing bad happens and of course to show to all men around that the princess already had a Prince. As soon as it stopped, we were alarmed by the fact that it couldn't open. It got stuck. Or rather was made stuck..... Prim's dress must have gotten crouched as we got in right before it closed. And it couldn't slip off.
She pulled it several times but it didn't work.
I tried but I wish I hadn't tried. I wished I'd just stood and watched from a distance. I pulled it so much so that it got torn at the same time opening the elevator door. Manly edges you know. Too strong for the little woman in here and right next to me.
"Oh my God!", I gasped as the same time looking at Prim who didn't even dare look at me.
"Thanks", a woman smiled as she got out of the elevator "Don't worry,miss... You can always get a new dress"
Prim forced a smile and crossed her hands together on her chest.
"Prim, am so-",
" It's alright ", she smiled. "I can always get a new dress after all"
I knew she was being sarcastic. I knew that statement was a thorn Prim felt as she was picking the roses. That woman was out of her mind. How could she say that to Prim? I thought as a fellow woman she'd have pity but hey I didn't know some women can be men at times.
Selfish people!
Totally selfish. Me inclusive. I decided to stand at a distance from her. I began to think all these were happening because of me. First the bangle and now the dress. Who knew what will happen next.. My nervousness was getting the upper hand and was destroying everything. If I'd been cool about it,none of this would have happened. At least I believed so. I became sad. Why were things going all wrong? None of these happened with Lily...
Could it be that her spirit was attacking me for betraying her? I haven't betrayed her though.
I still remember the day we both sat under the flowering peach tree in her garden and threw stones in her pond...busy counting the waves
"Omar...", she tilted her head which she'd been resting on my shoulder at an angle that I could see her face,"You won't ever leave, will you?"
"To where?", I asked
"Someone else's heart...", she said it point blank.
That's one thing I admired about her. She never went on beating about the bush. She always hit the target.
"Of course not..", I smiled and kissed her forehead. "Am here to stay "
She smiled and soon it faded as she threw a stone in the pond. I looked in the pond to see if she'd seen something or if something went wrong but nothing.
"Do you notice something....the waves are conspicuous at first but then they spread all over and disappear in the water",
" So....just like the waves...you think am gonna disappear and leave?", I asked.
"No...am just scared that it could happen", she squeezed herself between my trunk and my arm.
" You naïve little girl", I smiled. "That's not going to happen. Ever.."
"Even when I die?", she asked me. I couldn't understand what was going on in her mind today that she kept on blabbering about things that constantly shook me and left me in my deepest depths of despair.
"Please let's not talk about death", I said in an authoritative tone. Trying to teach this woman who's man around here. Can't we just live our happy lives? Why invite trouble when we can live without it?
"Am sorry...", she apologized. Of course in her puppy doll eyes so that I don't hesitate to say 'it's okay'. She always had a way to me. No matter how angry I was with her,it'd all flash away in a short period of time and we'd be as happy again.
I laughed.
"It's okay", I said squeezing her toward me. "Even after you die,I'll still love YOU". I told her emphasizing the You. Each time I remembered that,I couldn't get hold of myself. A man is a man and never cries. That never worked for me in these moments of despair. I broke down. I felt a warm liquid flow down my cheek and I knew it was a tear. I raised my hand to wipe it off but it was too late. Someone already had their hands on me and wiped my tears off.
It was Prim.
" What are you thinking about?", she asked a little concerned. "I know for sure it's not about our dinner". I froze! How did she know?! I startled as in to how I was going to explain the whole thing to her.
"Let's just use the stairs. We can't delay aunt Marie anymore...", I ignored her not knowing I messed up the name again.
" It's Vanessa ", she corrected. Again. I could feel the heat burning up in her and I could see how hard she was fighting it,trying to prevent it from coming out.
"It's okay....you'll get the hang of it", she said heading out of the elevator at the next stop.
And that's how we got down the stairs..quietly...
"What took you so long?", the woman in the car asked " and OhMyGod Prim...your dress is horrible! What happened?",
Woman! Couldn't you just have ignored the last part? Why do you want to bring the fire again that was dying down.
" Unbelievable ", was all Prim could say. She quickly walked into the car and shut the door.
" We're late for appetizer and entrée but am praying we can get there in time for dessert...", the woman said starting the car.
I felt bad. We missed the appetizer and main meal.
"Am so sorry sweety", the woman patted Prim's back. "I know they only serve your favorite soup once a month and on a special offer. You were looking forward to this one as we missed the last one because of me.....am so sorry...I hope we can get there in time for dessert", she cheered up the poor girl.
They only served her favorite appetiser once a month?! And worst of all on a special offer!! And it was today!!?? And I ruined it!!
Oh my God. Hats off Omarion Green. You are just sick! How dare you! Just how dare you?!
"His name is Omar...", I heard Prim reply.
What was happening? I was off again! Dang!
"Why didn't he replying, doesn't he speak?", she asked making me feel like a sadist. She really had the attitude of a warrior. Hit the target and make sure you leave it dead.
"He does,he's just a bit off today...", Prim replied giving me a sharp look.
*****
We walked into the restaurant and I was delighted as memories of my first time here flashed back in my mind again and again and it was hard for me to maintain the balance between the present and the past. Flashbacks kept flashing back in my ryes each time I saw something or touch anything.
The billboard! The kangaroo waitresses and waiters. The smell of food! It had really been a while. A long while.
"Welcome to Krazy Kangaroo", a kangaroo came at our service and gave us a gift bag. Not much changed around here. It's just as if am back to two years back.
"Thanks", Prim smiled as she received the bag. The kangaroo led us in and unto a table set for three.
"Sit", the woman who came along with Prim offered me a sit. I felt like she stole my pride. I was supposed to do that for her or Prim. Sooner or later I'll be the man that lost his pride!
"Thanks", I said.
A kangaroo came and took our orders.
"The fine man...", he asked.
"Um...serve the ladies first..", I rolled the ball. I didn't want to go first. Afraid of missing the goal!
"Grilled chicken with.....", Prim began and stopped.
Why didn't she continue?
" We're sorry ma'am.... We're now serving dessert. If you'll like, you just have to wait for another hour to have your entrée", the kangaroo explained. That's why Prim stopped. She remembered we were late and were on time for dessert. Only. Krazy Kangaroo was a fancy restaurant. They had hourly services. You had to spend exactly an hour in the restaurant of which it was divided into twenty minutes each for a phase of the meal. Appetizer, main meal or entrée and dessert.
Which means we only had twenty minutes to spend here and after,we were to leave for other people to come in.
The hourly services were common at night. Hence to counteract this, they decided to let the restaurant out for booking. You had to book for a specific hour and as treats, the would serve special dishes on particular days.
So that's why Prim decided we come today. She must have noticed they were serving her favorite appetizer today and decided for us to come today.
With the stupidity in me,I let her lose it. Who knows when they'll put it out again?
I heard a finger snap that seriously snapped me from my day dream.
"What's for dessert?", the woman asked.
" um....well....what's Prim having? ", I asked to at least calm the atmosphere. The air in here was damp and it made me feel hot. I was sweating. Of which I couldn't tell whether it was because of the the heat or my nervousness.
" A black forest jelly jam chocolate cake", the woman replied.
She was getting to my rescue and I was going to need her around for quiet some time.
"Can I have that too?", I asked looking at Prim.
" sure....Finally..",the kangaroo replied and left.
I wasn't sure if the finally was delightful that we were finally going to have dessert or it was a relief that he was going to leave our boring midst.
"So...Why don't we catch up while waiting for our meal", the woman began.
" Am Omar...Omarion Green..", I introduced myself.
"We already did introductions on the car Omar...", she giggled making me realise this wasn't my day. I felt like a locked room with missing keys in a tall tower "I love your outfit", she continued.
"Oh...thanks", Prim responded right before I could. I knew the compliment was mine but anyway. When Prim says it,I get it too. What's of mine is also hers.
"At least someone likes how I look tonight", she grinned.
That's when I noticed Prim was mad. I never told her how she looked. I complemented her as LILY and not as PRIM. I sabotaged her night. Completely. Broke it to the core that it can't be fixed. Breathlessness ran over me,giving me a tight high and unfortunately I was hugging back. I didn't know what to do. I just wanted to get out of this place and leave. I didn't like whatever was going on and worst of all because it was my fault. I never ever wanted to be responsible for anything. Just not me. Just not me. I love responsibility and am dedicated to it just that I don't like being responsible for something bad. Being here right now was totally against who I am. Prim was fortunate enough to have a friend like me. A friend who thinks he is a mountain. A mountain never really bows no matter how the wind howls and yet here I was, surrendering it all after realising this wind was just too strong, just too strong.
"Am Vanessa", the woman introduced herself easing the tension that heated up between me and Prim.
"Nice meeting you Vanessa ",.
We spent the rest of the time talking about our businesses. Vanessa was a business lady. She was a manager in the most luxurious expensive hotel in town. Pierre's Moonlight. A night at that place you'd definitely feel like you spent a trip to the moon. It was beautiful. Very beautiful. I've seen it once when I attended a friend's wedding. It has one of the odd,French designs.
It all made clear when Vanessa said it was owned by a French man named Pierre LeBron. He was Vanessa's brother in law. She married his step brother. I was sad to hear that her husband was now late. I couldn't bear the shock. The pain of loosing someone you totally held so dear. She explained how it affected her life and how Pierre was the only one who came to her rescue and gave her the spot she has now. She also told me how much she found comfort in the presence of Prim as she was the only family she had. To shade the sad environment, she told me how much Pierre was a successful business man. He owned six, hotels in different well developed countries and was looking forward to start the same business in developing counties, to expand the empire.
This man was after cash. I laughed at the thought of that and when Vanessa asked why I was laughing,I told her my thought and she laughed along. She agreed with me as he really couldn't involve himself in those businesses if he wasn't. He was after big heights which was being ambitious and was amazing but when it gates to chasing money, things get complicated and you'd tell this man was really after money. She told me that all he was after was to bring a change. To make life a better place for everyone. Of course we could never achieve that but at least make it favourable for everyone. Am not sure if she was saying the truth or just saying it in defense of his brother but either way it's all good.
We talked about, marriage, politics, religion and all other interesting topics that came to our minds and it surprised me how we talked of all those in just less than twenty minutes. I whined after our time was over and we had to leave the restaurant. I was happy that I had a good time with Vanessa but sad that I couldn't get along with Prim. She was still mad at me for ruining her night. Her day actually. She didn't wave at me when Vanessa dropped me at my apartment and drove off with Prim. We didn't have any other places to go to so we just decided to go home.
Besides,Prim wasn't as happy tonight so I just had to give her a break. I watched as the car drove off and into the deep. I went upstairs when I couldn't see it anymore.
Am so sorry prim...I chanted as I walked up the stairs.
I'll make it up to you...if it's the last thing I do.
