"Jared," she said, her voice neutral, as she approached him.
She had to do everything within her will power not to run into his arms.
"Megan," he replied, his voice filled with emotion.
They stood there for a moment, the tension between them palpable. Then, without another word, Jared led her into the café, ready to face whatever lay ahead.
As they sat down, Jared began to speak, his words pouring out in a torrent of emotion. "Megan, I know I don't deserve it, but I need to explain, to apologize, to make things right."
Penelope listened, her expression still unreadable, as Jared poured out his heart.
" Megan, I know I hurt you and what I did was all wrong, I am sorry. Please forgive me and I promise to use the rest of my life to show you how sorry I am".
" Jared, I have moved on. everything about you and me are in the past. I don't want to continue living in the past", she stated there was no need to deceive herself.
