The flames encompassed me ,I felt like I had been thrown into an oven I looked left and right trying to figure a way out ,but there was nothing ,no way out ,no place to escape ,no hole to squeeze myself through , I wanted to shout for help but my throat was sore from all the screaming ,I sat down hugging my legs to my chest with my head buried between my knees , the thought that I was going to die at this young age made me want to cry and shout but I knew it was all going to be in vain which made me lose more hope,I didn't know what to do as I sat there thinking about my mom ,dad ,big brother ,small brother ,I felt the tears flowing ,I looked up to the ceiling ready to accept my fate when I saw a big log of wood on fire about to fall on me I squeezed my eyes shut muttering to myself, "I don't wanna die ,I don't wanna die". All of a sudden a body leaned over me like a shield stopping the wood from falling on me I tried to look at who it was and how the person was alive after something like that had fallen on him or her or I turned and tried to look at who it was but the person took my head and buried it in his/her hair and lifted me I grabbed onto the person not wanting to let go ,I wondered how the person even came in when I couldn't find a way out,I don't know how to describe it but we were in the house one second then outside the next I felt the cool breeze brush against my skin and I raised my head trying to look at who it was as the person turned to look at me .

"BEEP,BEEP,BEEP" I heard and turned groaning into my pillow ,I stretched my hand to turn off the alarm clock feeling pissed that I couldn't see the face "stupid alarm clock" I muttered to myself same dream for ten years and I still hadn't seen the face .I got up from the bed to go wash up ,I grabbed my towel and got into the bathroom ,I took off my pj's and stepped into the shower closing my eyes trying to recollect the memory .
I knew I could have seen the persons face if the stupid alarm clock didn't go off ,but who am I to blame I used my own hands to set it before I went to bed so.... I gritted my teeth as I stepped out of the shower I walked to my closet bringing out a grey hoodie and leggings with converse I got ready and walked out of my room "hmmm hmm hmmm , good morning dad " "Good morning baby girl " he said as I took a cup out of the cupboard and helped myself to some orange juice "how was your night ?"
"Same as always "I answered leaning over the counter to grab the plate of pancakes and bacon "you had the same dream again didn't you?"
"Yep" I said piercing my fork into a strip of bacon and chewing it slowly
"Where's Jason?" immediately I asked I saw my little brother walking down the stairs
"Good morning people " my little bro said
"hey" my dad and I said
I turned to look at him "wait something feels different " I muttered to myself I turned again to look at him then turned back to look at my dad "is it just me or does something look different about Jason?" I asked then it dawned on me "YOU CUT YOUR HAIR " I screamed rushing over to my brother and passing my hand through his hair "you look good"
"I know now knock it off " he said swatting my hand away "when did this happen ?" I said looking at my dad "he shrugged before answering"yesterday evening he came up to me and told me he wanted to cut his hair at first I was shocked like you ,then he asked me to take him to my barbershop and I did which this is now the result"
"How did I not notice this?"
" you came back from practice tired"Jason said while finishing his breakfast
"Are you ready ?" I asked "yeah" "Wait am gonna go get my stuff "he said
"Are you going to work today ?" I asked my dad while taking the dishes to the sink
"Nope" he said "leave the dishes , I will take care of them "
"okay" I said
"bye dad "
"Bye hun "
"Jason am leaving "
"Am coming "he yelled back
"How many times have I told you kids to stop shouting ?"
My dad said I smiled and waved "bye dad" I got out and got into the car turning the key in the ignition the car came to life I pressed the horn trying to tell Jason to get out I checked the rear view mirror to see if he was coming out ,when I saw him run out I put my foot on the accelerator and began to drive off slowly ,slowly "hey ,hey ,hey "Jason yelled running after the car , I started laughing when he got into the car "why would you do that ?"
"Because it's fun "I laughed driving off .
We got to school and I parked the car , "you gon' stay for practice today?"
"Nope ,don't think so " "good , so I'll meet u here after school ?"
"Sure"
"STEPHANIE" I heard someone shout my name ,I turned back to look at my best friend Crystal running over to me with her arms stretched out wide "hey girl "she said jumping on me "why did you shout like that ?" "Just felt like it "she answered while wearing her handbag well, I straightened my duffle bag on my shoulder and we walked inside
"Hey crystal ",hi crystal " different types of greetings were been thrown in our direction some for me ,most for Crystal, my friend was well known among the student body she knew everyone and everyone knew her ,for me she was like wifi always everywhere
She hooked her hand in mine and said "Stevie , there's a new guy in school have u seen him ?" "Nope " I said while heading over to my locker and picking the books for my class ."what do you have first?" I asked Crystal "I think maths ,you?"
"English , my favorite " "you mean like Shakespeare and squad?"
"Yep " "anyways I heard the new boy is gonna be in your class ,"he,my friend is so hot "
"Uh uh "I nodded "who isn't hot for you ?,"you do have a boyfriend you know?"

I shook my head "what did I see in you before I took you as my best friend ?"
"I don't know " she shrugged "this is my stop" I said while walking into the class I turn and wave her bye , I took a seat waiting for class to start I checked my watch it didn't seem like class was going to start soon I brought out my headphones and I played Bazzi's "beautiful" I sang along
