Chereads / Zeus — Mythology Series #1 / Chapter 11 - Chapter Nine

Chapter 11 - Chapter Nine

Hera's pregnancy was difficult. Her stomach always hurts which is not normal like other pregnant women. Zeus is always by her side and the god can no longer do his other works because he puts his wife first.

"Zeus."

Zeus immediately approached his wife. She's beside the window and inhaling fresh air.

"Yes, my love?"

Hera turned to him and is about to cry.

"Hey, why are you crying? That's bad for the baby."

Hera burst into tears and hugged her husband. In recent days, Hera has been feeling worse. She didn't want to tell this to her husband because she didn't want him to worry about it anymore.

"Nothing."

"Nothing? Tell me. I know there's something bothering you."

Hera took a deep breath and looked at her husband.

"Will our child be normal like other children?"

"Of course. He will be the most charming kid in the whole world. Don't worry about it. You're going to be okay."

Hera just nodded and hugged her husband again.

Hestia, on the other hand, visits the sorcerer again. The sorcerer told Hestia to tell her what happens on Hera's pregnancy.

When she arrived at the sorcerer's house she caught up with her son. They are the same age as the sorcerer's son.

"Where's your mother?"

The young man turned to her and stared at Hestia's beauty. Hestia noticed that and shook her head.

"Every time."

"My mother hasn't come home yet but you can wait for her inside."

Hestia nodded and went inside. Only now did she notice that the interior of their house was beautiful. Modern yet so magical. There is another driveway on the side and that goes straight to the sorcerer's office where her potions and medicines are. Those who want to get the services of the sorcerer always pass by that driveway.

"Do you want something to eat? Drink? I'll serve you anything you want."

" No thanks. I'm full." Which is a lie. Hestia has not eaten since yesterday so she is very hungry today. She could not be bothered if she would still do what she was asked to do or not.

"You're hungry. It's obvious from the way you look."

Her forehead frowned. How did he know I was hungry?

"We can read minds."

Of course. How could I forget that.

"So what do you want to eat?"

"Bread and wine would be fine."

"Wine? This early?"

"Yes. Got a problem with that mister?"

"Alexander. And no, I have no problem with that."

Hestia just smiled and waited for the food. Later, the young man came and gave her what he had prepared.

"Thank you. I'll be upstairs if you need anything. Just call me in your mind and I'll be there."

"Okay."

The sorcerer arrived shortly after. Hestia got up immediately and followed her to her office. Hestia sat down in her former seat and immediately spilled the news.

"Day by day, Hera's womb hurts even more to the point that she just screams in pain."

"That's not normal for a pregnant woman. What else?"

"All I know is that she only tells Demeter what's happening to her because she doesn't want Zeus to worry anymore but I heard them talking yesterday so I listened or more like eave dropped. Hera said she could no longer bear her pregnancy. It was too painful and she thinks that she could no longer hold the baby."

The sorcerer was even more confused. She went to the bag of her charms and looked for the same one she had given to Zeus. The sorcerer was startled and Hestia immediately panicked.

"What? What's wrong?!"

"The charm."

"What about it?!"

The sorcerer slowly turned to Hestia.

"The charm I gave to Zeus was poisonous. "
