Another day before going to the capital. Elestia started packing her stuff by her own. since the incident with Mina, Elestia use it an excuse of refusing any new maid to serve her personally. Morever, so many things have changed and there's no way she want people from her enemies to stay with her, right?
'Even though I lived a second life, I just cannot change how I see the world. I cannot change my personality just like that. I've lived a long life with this temperament even if i want to change it because I want to live not because i want to please other. I become gloomier and hate to socialize with a serpent. I may lost interest in a certain things but It would be a lie if i say that I'm not hurt when the duke refuse to recognize me as his daughter but life should be go on. I will try to find one or two friends in the army. I mean I shouldn't be exactly like how i am in the past,right? Forget about establishing a connection with the royal family, i will meet my doom. It's kinda embarrassing when i reminded of the past. chasing people who hated me and doing something stupid for others not knowing the value of self dignity' While reminiscing the past, Sirene has stored every piece of Elestia stuff inside his spirit space. It's a convenient things you will get when making a pact with a spirirt. Every each of spirit master have it or so Elestia thought. Space spirit only available when someone become a spirit master with a certain spirit which means something connected to the spirit level.
That day, Elestia walked around the town by herself. She has been wandering around to find some utensils because she know what will happen tomorrow. Since no one recognize Elestia, she happily shopping around.
"Do you sell spice here?" This is a good start for Elestia to change. She casually smile without being forced. She talk like how she used to be before taken in to the Duchy. It feel nostalgic. Sometimes Elestia wondered how did she change into someone selfish. Craving for what people had when she already have it all. She forget how to cherish life and the people around her all because of him.
"Eh? Isn't that Lady Elestia?" Elestia heard it and walked away without looking back.
"Troublesome" Fortunately Elestia just finished shopping for everything and decided to go back home. She wanted to take a short nap but fall asleep instead.
"It's the day" Elestia didn't wear any fancy dress like how a noble should doll up instead she wear something like a commoner should wear. Morever, she dressed like one of the Wizard association Army.
"But sir david!" Elestia heard Lucian voice. They were arguing about Elestia transportation.
"This is a Wagon! Not a carriage!" This is all because of Carmila. She is the Princess of the Duchy, no one can defy her.
"It's okay, I will take my horse" Elestia removed the wagon from her horse and jumped on his black horse, Hisui.
"W-what...Wait! Lady!" Lucian flustered while watching Elestia back getting far and far away.
"Sirene" The small spirit fairy just woke up and yawns as she cast a blessing skill. It's like a prayer for a long journey hoping for a peaceful time during the way.
"Let's take a rest here" It takes approximately two weeks with carriage from Ronin territory to the capital but for Elestia, she can go faster but decided to slow down her journey because if she go too fast then it would be a waste for her. There's so much things to do on her journey but enjoying the moment is the most important.
"Sirene let's take a bath together" Elestia happily enjoyed her journey not like in the past. Using a wagon, being attacked by assassin and a beast. No time to enjoy the journey. solely because of Carmila.
"She is a saintess yet act like a villain" Elestia and Sirene played around and tried to catch some fish for lunch.
"A fish soup would be good but I'm craving for some sour and sweet fish" Taking out her utensils and the spice, Elestia began her cooking. Sirene tugged her master sleeve while pointing at something. A kid with a big shirt was staring at her.
"W-who?" Elestia was startled as she scan the little boy in front of her.
"Mama...." Elestia choked with her own saliva and approached the little boy. He is to skinny and Elestia could see her cheek bones.
"Where did you come from?" A kid who aged around five but look so small than his age.
"There?" Elestia walked towards the way he saw and a very foul smell greet her nose. There's a man corpse with a big wound on his chest. They must have met with unfortunate incident.
"Looks like he used his own life force to protect this kid" Elestia gave a proper burial to the man who might be the kid father and after that, Elestia looked around trying to search something that might be a clue for the kid identity and fortunately there it is. A Merchant card.
"This little guy called Kale. his father is philip? Eh where did I heard this name before?" Elestia just remembered that Philip is a very famous wandering merchant and met his death after attacked by an assassin. Kale too should be dead by starvation but seems like destiny changed again.
"Kale. We might be connected by a red string of fate in this life. God gave you second life too" Kale didn't understand but the words imprinted in his head.
"Let's eat first... but you must have been starved for too long. Drink water first and wait for a bit, i will make a good porridge for you" Kale just nodded and drank the glass of water that was given by Elestia.
"Mama..." Once again, Kale called Elestia his mother which makes Elestia kinda funny.
"I did lost my child in the past but sadly I am not your mother. I am Elestia" She said while holding onto his small, scrawny hand.
"Hnghhhh..." Kale started to cry as a rejection for Elestia words.
"I-i am sorry....Okay....eh? you can call me mama then, okay" Elestia lost words and don't know what to do to please the kid but fortunately he stopped crying and laugh. The moment he laughed, Elestia could not help but fall for his cute smile. When he smile, his eyes turned into a half moon.
"Let's bath you first" While waiting for the porridge to be cooked, Elestia take Kale to the lake and then bathed him. In the past, Elestia was married to commander Brahm's second son and was pregnant unfortunately she had a severe miscarriage because of Carmila. Elestia loved him but he loved the saintess Lucia. As for Carmila, she used the chance to make Lucia and Elestia become an enemy. Elestia who lost her mind at the moment has fallen into Carmila trap. She was fooled and that's when Elestia become the villain. She harassed Lucia as Carmila took the opportunity to get close to the saintess and successfully establish a connection with the royal family.
