When Sara woke up in the morning she noticed that the spot next to her was empty. After taking a shower and getting dressed she went to the dining room to find that Sean was not there like normal. She turned to a member of staff before asking, "where is my husband?" Her voice soft but cold and carrying a hint of warning. It caused the members of staff in the room to shiver slightly. Who knew the woman that they all wanted to hug could have a voice as cold and demanding as his. One member of staff stepped forward, "We haven't seen sir since he went to the study last night, madam." Sara looked at the girl before her face seemed to get softer as her voice regained the warmth, "Thank you." Then Sara turned on her heels and went to the study.
When Sara entered the study, her eyes immediately focused on the desk which had no one sitting there. She looked around the dimly lit room till her eyes fell on the couch. There she saw Sean laying on the couch. When she walked over she saw files spread on the floor, a half drunk cup of tea on the table and an ashtray with about 10 cigarette butts in it. 'I didn't know he smoked' she thought not realizing the man on the couch had awoken. As she began to pickup the files Sean's voice was heard, "don't worry about organizing them, they are all garbage proposals." The sudden voice caused Sara to jump before she looked at the man. "How late did you work last night? You should rest more. If they're all garbage proposals then why spend so much time on them?" The nagging from Sara made Sean, who had moved to a sitting position shake his head. He looked at the woman smiling, "Last time I looked at the clock it was 4:30. I just couldn't get something off my mind so it made it impossible to sleep." Sara set the files on the table before sitting down on it across from Sean. She reached out and grabbed his hands before saying, "you know you don't have to keep things hidden from me. Also don't work so hard or late. It will hamper your alertness." The words were spoken with a gentle soothing voice that Sean had never heard from Sara before. He looked at the woman before pulling her closer to him. The man looked at her with his brown eyes seemingly turning golden before he placed a kiss on her forehead then put his head on her shoulder. While no words were spoken by Sean, Sara seemed to understand everything he wanted to say with that kiss.
When Sean finally spoke , they were so close that Sara could feel the warm breath on her neck, "I talked to Dr. Park, your father has revoked all visitation rights." Sara sat there for a moment before responding, "he's afraid to let anyone see him weak. He's always been like that. You should go rest before we visit your parents then." Sean didn't say anything but removed his head from her shoulder before standing up. "We'll leave in 45 minutes. The staff has already prepared the vehicle. Are your bags ready?" Sara shook her head at the mans stubbornness before responding, "Yes they sitting in the closet." Sean nodded, "I'll inform Katie to get them. Let's go get breakfast before we head out." Sara nodded as they walked out before softly saying, "Katie hmmmm. First time I've heard you ever mention a staff members name." Sean chuckled hearing the words from Sara, "Katie is a special member of my staff. She's been with me since pretty much the beginning. With you knowing my roles in both worlds, you can understand that trust is not easily given out by me. She is the only person other than the 4 you've met and one other person allowed to enter my study without permission. She is tasked with cleaning my home office, my business office, and our bedroom. So don't be jealous of a staff member." Sean then reached over and pulled Sara closer to him before whispering in her ear, "However jealous you is very sexy, little kitten. Let's go have some fun before we leave." The words mixed with the warm breath on her ear made Sara blush profusely. She immediately pushed Sean away and ran to the dining room to get away from the man. Sean burst into a deep hearty laughter that shocked the nearby maids.
When Sean entered the dining room Sara avoided looking at him. She just looked down and kept eating. Who knew that her husband could be such a shameless man. While yes, they had yet to be intimate with each other, he could still say such a thing. Just the thought of it made Sara blush even more. Sean, observing his wife who was refusing to look at him, smiled brightly thinking that this breakfast tasted better than usual. After quickly eating Sean looked at the lady that was always outside the bedroom everyday, "Katie, her bags are in the closet ready to be loaded." The woman simply nodded before heading upstairs. Sean then walked over to where Sara still was looking at her plate, "Honey we should get going. We have a long trip ahead of us." Sara nodded still avoiding looking at the man. Sean chuckled seeing her actions before he headed upstairs.
When Sean returned from upstairs with a couple of bags, he noticed that Sara had left the table. However he couldn't see the woman anywhere. He quickly dropped the bags and immediately looked at a member of staff who seemed to know exactly what he was going to ask. The young man immediately pointed towards the back porch and only breathed a sigh of relief seeing the devil walk away. When Sean got to the back porch he noticed that Sara was standing there looking at the fresh snow that was falling. The woman, dressed in jeans and a T-shirt smiled brightly looking out at the snowy wonderland that was the backyard. Sean walked over and placed his jacket on her before wrapping his arms around her. Sara looked up to see the bottom of Sean's face, she smiled more brightly as she leaned her head back onto his shoulder. After a while Sara finally spoke, "the snow always makes me think of a fresh slate. Something new to leave my mark on. What does it make you think of?" Silence enveloped the two again as Sean seemingly didn't have an answer until he finally spoke, "A simpler time. The only time I used to see snow was visiting my mothers parents in Michigan when I was a child. Things were so simple then. No fighting, no businesses to run, and no stress." Sara smiled knowing that Sean was finally opening up little by little to her.
She tapped his arm lightly and sighed, "alright we should head out. You never did tell me where your parents lived. Just to pack for a night in a hotel." Sean nodded as the two left the back porch and headed to the front of the house. On their way Sean grabbed his bags and then walked out to the front of the house. Sara froze as she looked at the Ram pickup sitting in the drive. She looked around and then looked at Sean puzzled. He chuckled as he saw her reaction before saying, "my parents don't live on a main road. While a luxury car would be nicer it would be ruined on the roads." He then placed his bags in the bed before closing the bed cover. After getting in the drivers seat he turned over the diesel engine before heading out towards the west out of the city.
