Chapter 33 - Claiming What’s Hers

After the two women sat down and ordered drinks, Miranda perked up, "So it's been like a month, what have you been up too? Still single? I know this great guy. Handsome, rich, and sweet as can be." Sara shook her friend before she softly responded, "I'm already married, Miranda. I'm 100% positive that my husband would have both you and whoever you try to hook me up with disappear." Miranda froze hearing what Sara had said. "Wait did you just say your married" she shrieked causing nearby tables to look over before Miranda quickly whispered, "all the deets now!"

Sara smiled as she recounted how the two got married only for Miranda to say, "so a business marriage. What happened to finding the one?" Sara smiled as she suddenly thought of Sean wearing his traditional black shirt and jeans. Miranda saw the smile appear on Sara's face. "Oh my God you actually fell for him!" She whispered yelled. Sara nodded as she thought about him. As the two ate they talked about all things when suddenly Miranda brought up the topic of marriage. "So when is the actual wedding happening?" Sara shrugged before replying, "we haven't really talked about it but he seems to be leaving all the details to me. His mother and sister said they would help plan it." Miranda nodded, as the plates were cleared from the table, responded, "so the in-laws have accepted you. At least that's one good thing." Sara chuckled, "When I met his mother she practically cried holding me. It was more like I was her daughter that was going away to get married." Miranda burst into laughter at Sara response.

Suddenly Miranda's eyes grew as she looked at the entrance. Sara noticed the change in her friend, immediately turned in her chair to see Sean and a group enter. However her eyes focused on the woman holding his arm. She quickly got the waiter and had Mr. Stevens come over before giving him some instructions. Her normal bright blue eyes seemed to turn to an icy blue as she focused on the lady. After receiving the thing she asked from Mr. Stevens, Sara carefully got up and walked around the restaurant to come up behind the group.

Sean, unaware his wife was nearby, was internally frustrated with the woman holding his arm. He glared at Karen who seemed oblivious to his growing anger at her. As he talked to the other people he sensed something amiss as he saw, out of his peripheral, Mr. Stevens coming from the kitchen with a blow torch. 'That's odd for Mr. Stevens to be doing. What on earth is going on.' Sean then tried to shake off Karen's grip to prepare for the worst but to no avail she somehow seemed to grip tighter. The frustration growing inside him as he heard her say, "this is a very nice decor you picked out. Sean only grunted when he suddenly heard a voice behind him.

"Excuse me sir, may I borrow your jacket for a moment." The soft and sweet voice interrupted the conversation the group was happening when Sean turned around to see Sara there. He quickly removed Karen's grip on his arm before taking off his jacket. After receiving the jacket, Sara simply patted the spot where Karen's hand had been. After seemingly inspecting the spot, she frowned slightly. She looked at the woman then at Sean. The piercing blue eyes sent shivers down the backs of the group. Without knowing it, Sara had caused the entire dining room to quietly focus on them, as she had called out and approached the king of the business world in front of a room of businessmen and women.

After looking at the jacket for a few moments Sara let out a sigh. "What a shame, this really was a nice jacket. It suited you well." She then waved to Mr. Stevens who walked over with a container of oil and the torch. Sara proceeded to drop the jacket on the floor before pouring the oil on it. She glanced up at the woman before speaking, gone was the sweet and soft voice instead it was replaced with a cold and domineering one, "You know I really don't like people touching things that belong to others. Especially when said thing belongs to me. The first time, consider it a warning." Sara then used the torch to light the jacket on fire.

After the jacket caught fire, Sara looked up at Sean, "I'm going to need a dog for this. One that like the taste of meat will do." Sean only nodded in response, however Karen perked up, "why would you want a dog that likes meat?" Sara coldly glanced at the woman, "the first time it is a warning. The second time someone touches something that belongs to me I take their hands. Personally I'd like something to feed the hands to. So again if you enjoy your pretty hands then keep them to yourself." As she spoke Sean looked at his woman in awe. The fire dancing in her icy blue eyes, the sinister smile that had taken over her face. 'This woman is born for the Underworld' he immediately thought, 'Direct and powerful while making others understand the dangers of crossing her.'

Claire who was standing in the group, was silently impressed with how Sara was approaching the situation. She smiled as she silently thought, 'it seems I have underestimated you in many ways. You continue to surprise me. That is not an easy feat.' However Sara was unaware of the thoughts turned to Claire, "Claire if anyone else touches what belongs to me, let me know. I don't like wasting my time searching for the wrong people. I trust you with this task." Claire nodded while smiling at the sinister looking woman. Sara the turned back to Karen questioning her in a voice that had a subtle hint of demanding, "are you going to touch things that don't belong to you anymore?" The coldness of the voice and the sinister smile made Karen shiver as she couldn't find any words. She could only simply shake her head in response to the question.

Sara after receiving the response turned around and grabbed Miranda's arm and walked out of the restaurant. After Sara left Mr. Stevens directed some staff to put out the jacket, while speaking to Sean, "terribly sorry about that we'll get you a new jacket and have it shipped to you." Sean nodded knowing that replacing the jacket was the least of his problems. He simply put on a smile thinking about the incident, before he finally spoke, "She had every right to do that. It is her prerogative to exercise that right or not." Suddenly a member of the group spoke up, "Mr. McAlester, who was that woman?"

"My wife." Sean simply stated as he took of his tie and unbuttoning the top two buttons of his shirt. The simply answer was heard by nearby tables who quickly spread the news of the fearless woman standing besides the business king. The rest of the group also realized that only a woman who could publicly claim Sean as hers could be that sinister when dealing with possible threats. Sean the turned to John before stating, "you heard her, we need a new dog in the family." Then Sean headed out the restaurant to go fix this mess that Karen had created.
