Meanwhile at the Henson's Family Home
6 couples were gathered around a table before an older gentleman spoke first, "I don't think we really need to have this conversation. It's clear on who should lead the company." Others nodded thier head in approval before Marcos spoke up. "Jaime let's not forget the clause to allow another branch to take over. To our knowledge Sean is still unmarried." The others pondered Marcos words until a woman spoke up,"then again we have no information on him. 8 years ago he practically fell of the face of the earth until we heard 5 years ago he went to Europe. Next thing we hear is that he's the owner of Dearborn. So who knows what happened in those 8 years. He could have a wife overseas or even have a fiancé right now." The room was silent as they listened to the woman's words until Marco's wife spoke up, "he was too busy building an empire to worry about marriage. The clear choice is Justin let's not talk nonsense." The room began to bicker over the fact until an old woman walked into the room. She heard the arguing before she tapped her cane on the floor causing everyone to fall silent.
"Patricia, what are you doing here?" Marcos exclaimed. The old woman walked to the head of the table where Marcos sat before coldly saying, "Marcos you may run the family company but as the oldest person in the family that seat still belongs to me." Marcos quickly moved to a different seat. The lady sat done before she spoke, "normally I do not care with matters of business. However now the matter seems to involve my grandchild. I have sent someone to request Sean's presence tomorrow afternoon. He will have to answer our questions. The matter of his marriage will be addressed then. After his appearance we will vote on the future of the company. Either way I have a form signed where I will be handing my shares over to Sean regardless of the outcome of the vote. This meeting will be adjourned until Sean arrives." The lady then ignored everyone's stares as she got up and left the room. As the eldest even though she didn't control the company she controlled family meetings. It was only fair in her eyes to allow Sean to have a right to explain his side before they voted.
After the lady walked out a servant of the family walked in with a letter in his hand. He hesitantly passed it to Sean's parents under everyone's watchful eyes. Marcos spoke up, "who's it from?" The couple looked at the letter before Seams father spoke, "The office of the CEO of Dearborn Industries." They opened the letter before the woman shrieked, "Sean will appear at 2pm tomorrow afternoon in front of the elders." Marcos sighed, "alright we will reconvene then." Then slowly everyone left the room.
Across the city in Dearborn's office building
The executive meeting room was silent as Sean was sitting there looking over reports from their newest acquisition. As he read them many people felt sweat on their heads but no one dared to wipe it off. They had been busy the past 2 days compiling these reports and the boss hated errors the most. They had seen VPs terminated because of calculation mistakes. Suddenly the sound of rustling of papers was interrupted by the sound of a phone ringing. There was an audible gasp from many in the room. They had an agreement behind Sean's back to never bring phones into meetings in case they went off. Who dared bring one and leave it on. They looked around the room to see Sean looking at his phone scrunching his eyebrows together as he answered his phone.
"I had this talk before I left. Do not bother me with meaningless chatter." His icy voice froze everyone, however the response was different than the one he expected. "It's me." Sara responded shocking Sean before she continued, "you left without giving me your number so I had one of the maids ring you on the house phone." Sean quickly responded his voice much softer, shocking the room of executives who had grown accustomed to the icy voice, "I'm sorry, what do you need?" Sara smiled hearing his voice growing softer, "what would you like for dinner I feel like cooking." Sean smiled as he heard her words, "anything is fine. I've got to go back to work I'll see you soon." He then hung up the phone before looking at the files in front of him. "The calculations for gross profit are off by 2% and expected expenses should be 14% higher. Rose will take over as VP of Operations and Kimberly will take over as CEO of the company. John will takeover as CEO of Hughes and Gerry you will become new deputy CEO. Send the edited reports to my office tomorrow and have a good night. Thank you for your hard work." Sean then stood up before walking out, the smile never leaving his face.
Inside the meeting room everyone was shocked by Seans words. Kimberly spoke first as she looked at John, "John who was on the phone. They not only got him to say I'm sorry but put a smile on his face. He then corrected our mistakes without firing anyone, Readjusted the company hierarchy and said thank you to us." John sat there, having an idea on who it was but simply responded, "Someone I believe that none of us can afford to offend. If they can cause him to say I'm sorry when he won't even say that to his parents." Everyone shook thier head in agreement before looking around making a silent agreement to find out who was on the phone and bribe them to keep the boss happy.
Sean, ignoring whatever his executives response would be, walked out through his company like his normal employees. He thanked them as they said hello to him ignoring their shocked looks as he smiled his whole way out of the building taking the public elevators. Some, who had interacted with Sean in the past, believed they saw his twin or something. There was no way that was their boss.
Sean rushed home in time to see Sara working in the kitchen. He leaned against the doorframe watching the woman work before she froze, seemingly sensing someone watching her. As she looked over at the doorway and saw Sean, she smiled before remarking, "You know you could help instead of watching." Sean let out a hearty chuckle as he walked over and hugged Sara. He buried his head into her neck taking in the scent of rose, citrus and lavender on her before speaking, "I'm sorry Mrs. McAlester but today you have been relieved of your duties." Sara wiggled out of his arms before looking at Sean, "Why? I felt like I was doing a great job." Sean chuckled before responding, "You were but now your my wife. That company needs to merge with a branch from Barton's and will become too busy. What type of company do you want to run?" She looked up at Sean expecting him to say she shouldn't be working anymore not what type of company she wanted. She softly responded, "I want a jewelry company named after my mom." Sean froze hearing her whisper her response. He looked at the woman who's eyes began to water. He reached out and hugged her before responding, "anything you want." Very shortly after Sean embraced Sara a maid rushed in and removed the food from the stove. Panting she said "you two lovebirds leave the kitchen before you burn the house down." Causing the couple to laugh as they followed her orders.
After dinner, Sean handed a glass of wine to Sara, before asking, "why a jewelry company." Sara leaned on Sean as they sat by the light fireplace. As she looked into the flames she softly responded, "when my mom was alive she used to make custom pieces for rich clients instead of cookie cutter pieces you see nowadays." Sean smiled at the woman who seemed to curl up against him like a kitten. As he rubbed her hair, he softly told her, "tomorrow afternoon I have to introduce you to the elders." Sara only hummed in response before finally falling asleep. A maid quickly walked up to see the scene of Sean softly holding Sara as she slept. The fire bouncing of his face seemed to make the face even more gentle than it already was. She softly whispered, afraid to wake Sara up and face Sean's wrath, "Sir, Monica is back in town."
