Chapter 24 - His rock...

Sara woke up a few hours later,as she had been knocked out as well. In the completely dark room she could only hear her heartbeat. She tried to feel around the small room for anything to brighten the room but couldn't find anything. She couldn't even find a door to open. She leaned against the stone wall thinking, 'Does he even know that I'm missing. Does he even care?' Her mind began to wonder to the smile that he showed her every morning for a month. The talks about all things in the world. The way his eyes brighten when they talked about music or design. Her mind was racing while her heart ached thinking she would never see Sean again. Soon her mind was filled with his laughter and the smell that seemed to always be around him. The wood and leather smell that calmed her down when she was frustrated, or brought clarity when she couldn't think clearly. She began to breakdown the same way when he had disappeared. The tears flowing freely and her audible sobs. Little did she know that a certain man had seen her break down, and it shattered his heart seeing his rock, in such a fragile state.

Sara didn't even realize when but her mind was still on his scent when she seemed to smell it. She reached out, her face covered in tears, towards the scent when suddenly her arm touched soft fabric. She immediately clenched a handful dragging it towards her as the scent seemed to overwhelm her other senses. So much that she didn't realize that Sean had actually picked her up. She curled up in his arms tightly against his body trying to get as close to the scent as possible. Suddenly she heard that same warm and gentle voice speak out, "it's alright honey. I'm here now. No need to cry." Sara, believing that she was still in her own head cried out, "Sean you promised you'd never leave. Remember the agreement you signed." The sobs seemed to get louder as she spoke, smashing the shattered pieces of Sean's heart to dust.

Sean finally spoke louder, "Honey open your eyes. It's me, I'm really here now. Your safe. I didn't forget about you. I came for you like I always will."

Sara slowly stopped crying as she wiped her tears on the fabric she was gripping, before her sight became clear, seeing the faint light from outside the building and Sean's face. Sara screamed out, "Sean you really came for me" gripping him tighter before tears of joy seemed to come out. Sean only shook his head not knowing why she had suddenly started crying again. Sighing he walked out of the building past a group of people that seemed to be in awe of the crying woman in his arms. Then the girl from the school that Sara had sat next to, walked up to the couple saying, "headmaster sean thank you for everything. We view this as the least we could do for you." Sean nodded at the girl before responding, "if I heard correctly you organized the students in the search party." The girl nodded not daring to look at him. Sean spoke, "smart, quick thinking and decisive. When you graduate come to my office in Dearborn." The he walked past the girl before getting in the car.

As the two drove away, Sara finally stopped crying. Burying her head in Sean's chest she calmly said, "how did you find me?" Sean shook his head before responding," the thief left the car parked outside. Not very bright that one." Sara curled up, like a cat in his lap, resting her head on his shoulder before whispering, "thank you for coming for me." Then she fell asleep. Sean looked at the woman who seemed to be crying one minute then asleep the next, chuckling lightly. His phone chimed, reading the message his eyes turned dark as he glanced at Claire who was silent in the front passenger seat. "It seems like the Hayes really do want to pay this debt for centuries." Claire only nodded, before whispering to not wake the woman up, " how sure are you that it's the Hayes?"

"It's them or Sebastian. The Henson's fear me at the moment. The Hayes are losing everything so there is no fear left only desperation. Sebastian doesn't realize but I've secretly passed along information that he embezzled so he's blacklisted with out actually being blacklisted." Sean responded rubbing Sara's head. Claire still couldn't believe how gentle he treated this woman, when normally he wouldn't allow anyone except his mother or Monica to come near him. She whispered to Sean, "we'll keep tabs on the two. Do you know Mr. Carmichael has come to town." Sean nodded before responding, "I've met with him. January 18th at 6:45 we need to sweep Green Mountain Cemetery. I will tell him part of the truth about what he wants to know. For now keep tabs on him."

Shortly after the conversation, the car arrived at the mansion. Sean didn't move immediately, but looked out at the house before looking at Claire, "how soon will the mountain be done?" Claire shook her head knowing that her boss wanted a better fortress for this woman. "Should be ready at the end of the month. Are you really going to move when she's renovating this house?" Sean chuckled softly, "Jasmine just started the interior decorating so she will use the planned renovation of this place to actually do the interior of that house." Then Sean gripped Sara and carried her into the house. As he set her on the bed she reached out and grabbed his arm. "Sean don't leave. Don't leave me" then she started crying again. Sean knowing that she was having a night mare turned around and hugged Sara. "I promise I'll never leave you again. Your mine. Your my rock. My beacon of light in the night." He softly whispered in her ear as her tears began to subside as she felt his warmth next to her. She began to rub against him trying to get more comfortable but it was causing the desire in his eyes to grow. Lucky for him, she found a comfortable spot quickly before hugging him with her head resting on his chest. Sean rubbed her head as she laid there, before whispering, "little kitten why do you always tease me." Sean leaned over kissing her forehead before turning off the lights, falling asleep holding her.
