Sara went quickly exited the office and headed home to change. She choose a simple but elegant red dress. As soon as she finished she heard her door bell ring. When she opened the door for Seam she was amazed at how good he looked. The perfectly tailored 3 piece black suit with gold pin-striping made the normal casual wearing man look refined. She noticed that he was staring at her and hadn't said a word yet but the eyes were gentle. His broad shoulder, perfectly styled hair and calmness. Sara slightly smiled at the man standing in front of her.
Sean was entranced by the beautiful woman standing in front of him. The simple dress allowed her natural beauty to shine through. The simple makeup and straight hair seemed to enhance the beauty somehow better than the perfect tailoring she got yesterday. He noticed the slight blush forming on her face that just seemed to make her radiant. Then time seemed to freeze when he saw her smile at him. His breath got shallow as he was wondering how such a woman was making him insane like this. Sean finally got his mind right before he spoke, his voice warm and soft "shall we get going" Sara blushed even more hearing him speak but only nodded in response before taking his outstretched arm. As he led her out side she saw a white Bentley sitting there with its top down, even though it was early fall the weather in the evenings was perfect for top down driving.
Sara looked at Sean "where is your driver or Frank?" Sean led her to the car before opening the door for her. "They aren't needed tonight." As Sean calmly drove through the city Sara looked out at the city turning on for the night. She then looked over at Sean then after a moment she spoke, "so what's with the three piece suits? Every time I've seen you, you're wearing jeans and a dress shirt. Except tonight and last night." Sean chuckled, "I'm stuck behind a desk all day why do I care what people think about what type of pants I'm wearing. The banquet last night was a formal function and Swan has a dress code." Sara took his word as they began to drive out of the city. "Wait aren't we going to Swan? That's downtown." Sean looked over for a second before focusing on the road.
The car pulled up to a building outside the city before sean got out and opened Sara's door. She looked at the man hesitantly before sean pointed to an Audi that pulled in right behind them. "Frank is right there so don't worry." With the reassurance from sean she took his hand as he led her down a path that lit up in front of them. They soon reached a large patio over looking the city. The white tables scattered around and a live band playing soft music. Sean led her to a table at the edge of the patio with the clearest view of the city. Finally after taking her seat Sara spoke up,"so where did you bring me?" Sean sat down before nodding his head in a direction. Then he finally responded, "This is Swans newest location. Out of the city But close enough to attract the rich crowd."
"Ohh what will happen to the current location and how do you know." I believe they will sell the current location to a hotel and it's my job to know things in the business world beyond the scope of normal people." After a waiter came up and served wine Sean spoke up first, " take for instance you. A Harvard Business grad is working at a small time investment company instead of building the family brand or working for Wall Street. You also turned down an offer for Mystycs and the Henson family. Why is that?" Then he took a sip of wine before resting his head on his hands waiting for a response. Sara smiled at the man looking like a child listening to a story ,"I never wanted to work on Wall Street. The Henson's while offering a good wage I didn't feel comfortable working with Justin Henson. I avoid the family company like the plague and Mystycs is an interesting story." Sean smiled hearing her talk, "I'm all ears ma'am."
"Well Mystycs approached me to be Director of Marketing straight out of college. The pay they offered is more than what I make now as CEO. I know the company runs on the smaller side but the profits are through the roof. They've been audited so many times but various government entities that it's amazing that all the money is legal. While it interested me when they offered me a job it sounded too good to be true so I turned it down." Sean smiled at the woman was talking and soon the food was served.
During dinner they talked about everything from arts to traveling. The conversation was jovial and harmonic until Sara said, "so what about your childhood. I know you didn't want to be business consultant you're entire life." Sean's turned to face the city taking a sip of wine. Sara looked at him waiting to answer before Sean finally spoke, "I wanted to be a musician when I grew up. Until one day I was given 50 grand from my uncle and told to stay out of the news if I knew what was good for me." Sara was stunned at the words "I'm sorry I didn't know." Sean maintained his silence while standing up signaling that it was time to leave.
On the drive home Sean maintained the silence while the wind blew through the car. After arriving to Sara's house, he finally spoke, "breakfast same time and place tomorrow." Sara stunned that even though she seemed to have touched a fragile subject he still opened up to her. She smiled at Sean and said "sure. But how about you come over and I'll cook this time." Sean nodded his head as Frank walked up and escorted Sara inside. He drove away at pace seemingly in a rush.
When morning came Sean showed up precisely 10 minutes early and entered the house to see Sara busy in the kitchen. She looked up and saw the man walked in smiling at her. She wiped her brow and smiled back at him. He walked over and began to help her after he rolled up his sleeves. Her eyes grew in size "you can cook?" Sean nodded while responding "Traveling as often as I do sometimes you want home cooked meals. But I should ask the same from a Harvard grad." Sara shook her head, "scholarship student, and I practically raised my self after my mother passed." Sara continued preparing the last dish didn't notice Sean's brief pause at the mention of her mother. Very soon afterwards breakfast was complete. As they sat down and ate the conversation turned as a continuation of the previous night before Sara mentioned Sean's childhood.
Soon after arriving to work they continued the task from the previous day and the end of the day came rapidly. Sara begrudgingly went with Miranda out to eat after work. When they arrived at the restaurant,as soon as they sat down Miranda chirped up, "so how was your date last night." Miranda's words instantly made Sara blush thinking about the night with Sean. "Even though it ended on a bad note it was pleasant. He's knowledgeable, kind, funny and handsome." Miranda smiled at her friends blush, "so the perfect man?"
"I wouldn't say perfect but I don't want to leave his company. I don't know why. I barely know him but I feel like I've known him my entire life." Sara sighed thinking he probably didn't feel the same. Soon after the girls began to gossip about the latest fashion trends. Sara looked down at her phone seeing a text from Sean that said "I'll cook breakfast tomorrow" she put down her phone but her blush and smile didn't escape her friends eyes.
