Every student was making their way out of the school on Monday at 1:15 PM while the friends were just conversing.
"That woman from Sylon or whatever it was called looked at you really weirdly." Jerry said while Quast was unlocking his bike and getting ready to go home.
"You already know it's because I don't have Mana." Quast continued trying to unlock the lock that was binding his bike to a metal stand outside of the school.
"..." Jerry remained quiet.
Quast was done with all things bike related and ready to ride home. "Alright, see you later. Tuesday tomorrow, the quests are gonna be refilled at 3:00 PM, just so you know."
Back at the Sylon Facility, Juliette would have some news to bring to the higher ups there. The people there would also be confused as to why Jerry didn't answer with the truth on the questionnaire that was given out a few days earlier, they thought that maybe he didn't have an ability at the time and didn't want to be embarassed about not having a power, but then why would he enter such a bizzare and obscure ability as 'strengthened sight'.
The higher-ups chalked it up to a late developed ability, because they had so much more work to do and didn't want to dwell on the case for any longer, so it was closed. They also decided that a heat related ability wasn't needed in their Sylon since they had a few people with heat and similair abilities in the facility already.
After that a higher-up got onto Quast's case 'No Ability' he read, and was very confused at first, but after thinking about it he thought about how Sylon haven't gotten even a fraction of the information needed to figure out Mana, so he marked it as checked, because he thought that many more people down the road would also be lacking abilities. Then he went to do other work.
Quast disconnected from the call at 7:33 PM, and Jerry knew that in 27 minutes a new geode would spawn.
"Alright, damn it's already 7, time is fleeting." Jerry thought as he stood up from his chair and looked out of the window to the outside, since it was almost summer the sun was still high up. "Yeah, I'll go outside." he decided to go breathe some fresh air, clothed with a T-shirt that had a cool design on the front and black track pants.
He found himself in front of the mall where the entire explosion ability fiasco happened, it was actually opened to the public and everything was fixed, a lot of people were also inside. Jerry decided to check out the dungeon that he and Quast saw on the upper floor. Once he arrived to where they saw the dark blue portal last time, he noticed that there wasn't a dungeon gate there anymore, instead a note on the ground was all that found its place there.
Jerry didn't need to pick up the paper looking note to know what it read, for some reason he just knew.
"Thanks for the dungeon! The time limit ran out." it read and a little smiley face was crudely drawn underneath the text on the old, crinkled, light brown-yellowish paper.
"?" Jerry was taken aback. "Who? What? Why?" and then all the conclusions came, he had to deliver these news to Quast.
However Quast would be notified.
[The Deep Laboratories Dungeon has dissapeared]
The interface appeared in front of him as he was in bed with a phone in hand watching videos and being very close to falling asleep, however the notification rustled him awake. "Hmm?" Quast muttered.
[Did something happen?] In a state between being almost asleep and fully awake Quast asked through the chat function of the system.
[Yeah, I went to check up on the dungeon in the mall since the mall just opened and there was a note on the ground where the dungeon was, it reads some shit like "Thanks for the dungeon!" and that the time limit has run out.] Jerry answered.
[Oh damn.. that must've been the creature that collects the dungeons after their closing time runs out, never seen it for myself just know it from the knowledge I got after seeing the first dungeon.] Quast responded tiredly.
[I have several questions, but I don't know how to put them into words. Also why didn't you tell me about this?] Jerry asked in the chat.
[Because I forgot.. Well this kind of startled me awake, I was this close to falling asleep, so I'll just go back to the land of the dreams if you don't mind.]
[Go ahead. The questions are just going to answer themselves.] Jerry said sarcastically. [Ok, I'll leave you to your business.] he said without any sacrcasm this time and closed the chat.
Then the one with the note in hand exited the relatively big mall and was now standing outside, still looking at the note from the thing that Quast referred to as 'The creature that collects the dungeons'. Jerry put the paper away in his inventory, because he thought he didn't have anywhere else to put it.
It was now time to head back home, but he had to first look for the geode that had spawned in the mall's huge parking lot, because he was currently located there.
With incredibly small odds on it's side the geode surprisingly decided to spawn right near his foot, and Jerry only saw it because it emitted particles.
"Damn, I'm so lucky." he bent down to pick the geode up and now that he had it in hand, the hammer that is used to break geodes was taken out and the formation of minerals was given a good whack, it broke apart quite unevenly to reveal the thing inside.
[Inside of the shiny geode was a : Crystal Ovoid]
[An extraordinary piece of craftmanship made out of an incredibly beautiful crystal.]
[Piece 1/3]
The oval in shape crystal with a very smooth surface that just felt good to the touch, shined in Jerry's hand, it was around 6 centimeters in length and it's highest point, which was befittingly in the middle of the thing from the view of the person holding it, was 3 centimeters in height, and seemingly empty. A cylinder shaped thing looked like would fit inside of the empty space.
The first thought that came to Jerry's mind were those weird oval magnets that everyone in school had a few years ago, the ones that made those almost satisfying sounds when they impacted each other. And then the weird empty space in the middle of the ovoid was what he thought of next, and after that came the description of the item that he had gotten, he re-read the "Piece 1/3" part a few times.
"Welp, seems like there are 2 other pieces." Jerry decided that this item took priority over the note left from the dungeon creature so he took it out and folded it until it was small enough to fit in his pocket, he placed the Crystal Ovoid into the inventory and the paper note in his pocket.
After returning home he explained everything to Quast when he came online a few hours later while they were in a call playing some indie co-op game that they once bought on a sale some months ago, but never played prior.
"Hmm, yeah it's pretty self explanatory, you'll find the other pieces soon hopefully. Now go fetch me some Lankium ore, we're gonna be fighting a boss at night pretty soon." Quast had the wiki of the game open on the side, and then they kept playing the game until it was really late.
Jerry didn't find the geode that spawned at 2 AM and he also couldn't find the other one that spawned 6 hours after that.
"Man school is actually so boring right now, I mean.. summer break is gonna be in like 3 weeks, so thats cool, but yeah such a waste of time." Jerry walked out talking to Quast.
"That is factual.. Well, see you in 2 hours from now." Both of them went home for a little bit until it was time for the quests.
At exactly 2:00 PM, just an hour before the quests, a geode spawned on Jerry's bed and it sat there cozily for around 20 minutes until he saw it. He was watching a video on his computer while consuming popcorn, the particles that the geode produced were caught in his peripheral vision, but he first wanted to finish watching the video, yet he couldn't concentrate on his monitor with the thing emitting particles in the background, so at 2:21 PM Jerry opened the geode to reveal 150 coins.
Both of them were at the forest at the same time. And they walked to the spot, however once they were there they would only see 2 people, 2 of what seemed like children. The small strangers seemed to be examining that forest spot. Until they sensed the presence of Jerry and turned around.
Jerry and the twins made eye contact, both of them completely ignoring Quast. The twins were a 14 year old boy and a 14 year old girl.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" the boy asked.
[It's lying time, these kids seem suspicious to say the least.] Jerry used the chat. [Plus their Mana seems to be really strong.]
"I am moving at a regular pace by lifting and setting down each foot in turn." Jerry responded.
"What?" the boy asked automatically.
"Im walking bro." Jerry responded.
"What about the guy near you? He doesn't seem to have any Mana, none that I can sense at least.. that's pretty weird."
[Bruh.] Quast said in the chat.
