Chapter 9 - The Idea

Quast's chat interface suddenly changed.

[Jerry]

[Today]

Jerry: [No, no I can't.] - Sent 8:07AM

Jerry: [What if you were to give me a quest to complete the worksheet, I wonder if that's possible?] - Sent 8:10AM

[Think of message here...]

Quast replied that he will try and gave Jerry a quest to complete the worksheet.

A quest window appeared in front of Jerry.

[Complete all exercises on the algebra worksheet]

[Difficulty : Easy][Rewards : 25 Experience and 5 coins]

A new quest window that had a new quest difficulty appeared in front of Jerry.

As soon as he received the quest he started working on the first exercise of the worksheet.

After an entire lesson's worth of time of calculating the answers to difficult equations, Jerry was done with the all of his tasks on the paper, he sent almost all the answers to Quast through the chat, except the last one.

Jerry wrote the final number on the paper and the quest was completed, the quest window vanished.

The teacher spoke a little bit disappointedly "Oh well, it seems like we don't have enough time left to play games and watch movies, so I'll be heading out, see you guys next lesson, which will be tomorrow." she picked up her bags and went out, the class representitive stood up to clean the black board, meanwhile Quast and Jerry were still using the chat function of the system, the break ended soon after and the next teacher walked in, the lesson now was Biology, the biology teacher started writing something on the black board and told the students to copy it in their notebooks, after that lesson was over it was now recess and Quast and Jerry took their lunch boxes out to eat, after recess was over they went in and had 2 more lessons of Religious Education, during those 2 lessons Quast gave a few more Easy difficulty quests to Jerry, 3 more to be exact, and all of them rewarded 25 experience and 5 coins, so he got 75 Experience and 15 coins, and his interface now read

[Name : Jerry Dankworth]

[Blood Type : O-][Negative Effects : None]

[Gear : None]

[Statistics : 13 Strength 11 Intelligence 8 Agility]

[10 Dexterity 9 Endurance 5 Luck]

[Attribute Points : 3]

[Level 3 : 45/200 Experience to Level 4]

[Skills : None]

Jerry held onto the 3 Attribute Points that he had earned through levelling up.

The last two lessons were Physical Education, and Jerry was pumped up about that, even though he wanted to hide the fact that he had such a power, he still wanted to show off his strength, but he was still weak, so he decided not to, he thought that maybe when he was a little bit of a higher level, then he could show off.

Quast, Jerry and the rest of the boys from the class went into the dedicated boys locker room, after a few minutes of changing clothes, Quast and Jerry went outside to the sports ground.

The P.E. teacher was waiting for them outside while he was holding a binder clipboard and writing something on it.

"Alrighty guys, I'd like you all to start with a lap." the sports educator said and turned around towards the running track, the track was covered with synthetic rubber and under it an asphalt base.

All the students began jogging lightly at first, however Jerry decided to run a little bit faster forwards, and tried something out, he pulled out the chat function, he then sent Bordington a message, even thought Quast couldn't concentrate on the message that his friend had sent him he still understood what was written on it, it stated

[We don't need to read messages for us to understand them do we?]

Quast smirked and sent a reply back.

[It seems like we don't.]

Jerry responded accordingly.

[Then why were pretending to read them?]

Quast sprinted towards Jerry then slowed down to match the pace with his friend.

[I feel like adding all my current attribute points into agility.]

A sudden message in front of Quast appeared.

[Do you really want to?]

Was the response.

[Hell yeah, I'd like to see what difference that makes, I only added 1 point into agility previously, let's see how much 3 agility points will change me.]

[WAIT!!! I had this hunch that maybe, just maybe if you were to train in real life your stats will also go up, so this proposes the question, won't it be easier to train now, because later when you already have a lot of points into stats it will be harder to get your stats up by training, you could get a few free stat points that way I suppose.]

[Trueeee. I have never thought about that, but it makes a lot of sense that if I train hard in real life my stats will go up, yeah that truly does sound reasonable.]

After running a lap all the students slowed to where the teacher was with everyone breathing heavily from the running they walked to another field and the teacher threw some encased foam balls and three boys and one girl caught them, none of which were Jerry or Quast.

"So for todays game we will be playing just plain old dodgeball, alrighty I'd like Josh and Martin to be the team leaders, you guys will pick out people in the following order, a boy and then a girl." suddenly a finger was being pointed at Jerry, and he went to Martin's team, then Josh picked out another boy afterwards, then followed girls, then boys, and then once again girls, the players to be chosen were going down in numbers and Quast was still remaining, it seemed like Jerry was talking to Martin about something, maybe about how Martin should pick Quast, but it was Josh's turn, and he picked Quast.

Everyone was getting ready on their respective fields, both teams had 2 balls in their field, the whistle was blown and everyone stood still, waiting for another person to make the move until a kid from Quast's opposing team sent a ball flying and it hit a girl and she went to sit until the next round.

The ball that eliminated the girl was now in Quast's position as for he ran after it when it fell on the ground, he quickly turned towards the boy that threw the first ball and pelted it with all his force at the boy in question, to Quast's surprise it hit, but a girl from the opposing team eliminated Quast by throwing a ball in his direction and hoping it would hit, which it in fact, did.

Jerry was now on the winning team and after a couple of minutes of throwing and catching he directed his vision towards the last remaining enemy member on the field, he missed, but Martin followed quickly after that and hit the last member of Quast's team, the game was won by Jerry's team.

The P.E. instructor told everyone to give the balls to him and to go to the field where the sand pit was located, they were about to do some triple jumps, after some time of doing jumps into the sand pit the first lesson was over and everyone was let to go drink some water, the next lesson they did a Cooper test, in which Quast didn't perform the worst, but Jerry performed better, after that they threw some balls and the teacher measured the distance it had traveled, Quast threw a 100 gram ball 51 meters and Jerry did 63 meters, the P.E was now over and everyone went back into the changing rooms, after 5 minutes Jerry and Quast walked out. They left school and then stood and talked about what they should do, this time Quast had the idea. In fact, he had been thinking about it the entire day.
