Chapter 2 - The First Quest

Jerry stopped right in his tracks for a second and so did Quast. They needed a couple of seconds for everything to make sense, of course Jerry was faster and turned slowly towards Quast "Do you see what I am seeing?" he quietly asked. Quast gulped and nodded "Yes, yes I do." Jerry looked down at the pencil on the ground, well you see, Jerry was one of the first people to act when something happened, Quast knew that very well and so he instinctively shouted "Wait!", the whole class looked at him, and the teacher who was looking at his phone looked away from his phone towards Quast, however Mr. Jackson saw that nothing was wrong and didn't want to investigate any further so he just told Quast to be quiet.

Quast however wasn't embarrassed, something bigger was happening and it couldn't be his imagination if Jerry was seeing it too, but he still quieted down as to not alert the teacher anymore and after the teacher went back to scrolling on his phone he whispered to Jerry "Before you do anything, let's see if other people can see it too." Jerry agreed and so Quast turned to his other neighbor, it was Albert, so now he had to gain Albert's attention, and that was easy, Albert was a straight A student and really didn't need to do anything in class and the teachers loved him anyways so he could get off easily if anything were to go wrong. "Hey, hey Albert." Quast quietly tried to get Albert's attention, it was successful and Albert turned around. "Yo." the straight A student said, Quast pointed towards Jerry and said "Tell me, Albert, can you see what's in front of Jerry?" There was also another thing about Albert and that was that he never lied. "Huh?" Albert questioned what Quast had just asked "Well I don't see anything in front of him... wait a second, is something supernatural happening?" Quast ignored the second question and turned towards Jerry "It seems like we are the only ones that can see it, I think, anyways go ahead and pick the pencil up I want to see what happens." eager to find out whispered Quast, "Well..." Jerry said "Here goes nothing" and so Jerry bent down in his chair to pick the pencil up, he grasped it and went up back to his table and looked at it, however the quest window was still in front of him, so the next logical step was to look back at the quest, and it still said

[Quest : Get {Quast's} pencil back to him]

[Difficulty : Very Easy][Rewards : 5 Experience]

and so he did, he stretched out his hand towards Quast and Quast took the pencil out of Jerry's hand. As soon as Quast had the pencil, the quest window disappeared and a new one appeared, however this time it wasn't a quest it was Jerry's personal profile. Jerry looked at his profile window and back to his friend "Hey, it looks like this one is all about me." he exclaimed and looked at it. The profile had a little photo of Jerry's face in the top left corner and it read :

"Ok, this is a little bit too much for me to take in, in such a short span of time, let's just close all this down and talk about it after school, at your place." said Quast.

"Sure, if this isn't all a dream I'd like to know what the hell is going on, after school at my place it is then." Jerry responded "Uhh. One more thing, how do I close this thingy."

"Well if it is what I think it is then you just think about closing it." suggested Quast, and indeed after thinking of closing it, it did close. "Uhhh wait, try to think about opening it again." Quast made up his mind. Jerry caught on to what Quast wanted, after all they weren't best of friends for nothing, what Quast wanted was to see if it would come back, and indeed it did come back. After Jerry opened it and closed it again they both sighed. The day passed slowly, even though the days in school passed slowly for Quast, this one was much slower than any other school day, Quast had too much on his mind, and on the third lesson he couldn't take it anymore and in the break he told Jerry to come with him to outside, and Jerry agreed.

"I say we make an excuse that we both have a headache and go home, even though that is a lame excuse and they will probably see through it, it's worth a try, after all something is happening that might allow us to change the world, what do you say, Jerry?"

Jerry looked at Quast, after a couple of seconds he said "Is there something you are hiding from me, Quast, when you saw those little window things in the classroom, I got the feeling that you knew what they were."

Quast looked at him seriously "Yes, I'm hiding something from you, but I couldn't tell you what, because I don't know myself what happened, so if you want I could tell you what I know now or we could go to your house and figure more things out, than we could at school."

"Is the thing you want to tell me a long story?" Jerry asked.

"No, it isn't." Quast replied.

"Tell me it here and I will decide if we should really go home." Jerry sat down on a bench outside of the school, and so did Quast next to him and sighed.

"So the night yesterday after I logged off, I did my homework and went to bed" said Quast "That night I had a weird dream, we were both in a room somewhere, I don't remember the features of the room, but we were looking at something and I saw what we were looking at, they were floating game-like user interfaces, yours had less things than mine and yours was the exact same interface we saw in the classroom, with just some changes, but for some reason I can't remember mine, the only thing I remember about it is that it had more features than yours and mine didn't have my personal information. I thought about this dream the entire day, but still couldn't remember my interface, but oh boy does it feels good to tell someone about it."

"I see." said Jerry "This is indeed something that may change the world as you said previously, of course if it all exists and this isn't a dream."

"This isn't a dream, I checked and I could feel pain and everything felt way too real for a dream anyways." reassured Quast

"Indeed, what you say is true." remarked Jerry as he pinched himself on the arm "Ok, I say we go home, what about you Quast." Jerry smiled, Quast couldn't help but also smile, Quast's spirits were lifted and after a lame excuse at the nurses' office, they were somehow released and went to Jerry's house.
