Chapter 5 - Chapter. 5 Ember

"Open your freaking door Trystin!" I yelled while pounding my fist on the door.

Trystin opened his door I looked at him. I turned my head around so fast.

"Trystin put some clothes on please." I can not believe I just saw him naked. I can feel my face burning up with embarrassment. Trystin threw some clothes on. He apologized saying he forgot to put clothes on after his shower. I will forever have that image in my head now.

"I did some digging yesterday and I believe I have some clues that may help us find Xavier." Trystin digging up clues to help me find his rival for my affections. I raised my eyebrow at him.

"Is there something wrong?" he asked. I just can not believe he did something useful after our argument yesterday.

"No, just surprised you finally got over yourself." I rolled my eyes at him boys are so dumb.

"So what did you dig up?" I asked hoping he at least has a good lead for us.

"Well we should start with basic thinking." I am starting to doubt his digging skills. He better not have gotten my hopes up over nothing.

"By that you mean... we do what exactly?" Trystin has me so confused right now.

"This case is kind of like a puzzle. To find the abductor(s) we need to real down how they think." I guess he kind of has a point.

"Okay where do we start?" I am actually intrigued now.

"Well assuming everyone was taken by the same people or person. Where would you hide three grown adults? It would have to be somewhere they will not be heard. The building would most likely be hidden in plane sight. A place you would not think of. Also, why are they only targeting the people around you?" all of Trystin's points get Ember thinking. Honestly I needed this advice from Trystin. We needed to think of why the abductors would target people around me.

"Okay let's start with the why and the who." I responded to Trystin.

"We'll have you made anyone angry or upset? If you have then who was it?" Trystin asked. Honestly I don't really talk to many people. As far as I know I have not made anyone mad enough for this. I mean there was that guy I ran into and spilt my drink on a while ago. The guy was pretty mad. However I do not think he was "make a vendetta against the girl who ruined my shirt" mad.

"I can not think of anyone who would go this far though. I mean I have upset a couple people, but it was all small things. It was all just little accidents caused by how clumsy I am." which is very true I am quite literally the most accident prone person ever.

"Well then we can rule out it being something you did. I mean Xavier was a trouble maker. Maybe he made someone mad enough to want to hurt him. That does it explain why your parents went missing though. Whoever is doing this at least knows who your family and friends are." I knew Trystin was just trying be helpful, but all he was doing was making me more stressed out than I already was. The people Inlove being targeted for an unknown reason. I mean I have proven that I am pretty much incapable of protecting anyone I care about. How am I supposed to protect my brother and Trystin. Jason is never home they could take him at anytime and it may be days before I find out he is missing.

"Well if they are targeting people close to me that means you are not safe. Neither is Jason, grab my phone and text him to make sure he is ok. I am going to go to the bathroom and grab some snacks." I told Trystin as I headed to his bathroom down the hall. After washing my hands I went to the kitchen and made us some popcorn. We are going to need to work up a plan to find the people responsible for this.

I headed back to the room. When I walked back in Trystin was typing on his computer. I sat the popcorn down and picked up my phone. Jason had responded to my text. He is safe and doing well just busy with work. That was good to hear I would feel so guilty if he was not okay. With how much my brother has been out and about I am starting to think he has a girlfriend. That would be a miracle though, most girls avoid him they say that he is creepy. He is why I do not have any female friends anymore. I used to have a friend named Kaylee, but she stayed away from me ever since the time she stayed the night with me when we were ten years old. She mistakes Jason's bedroom door for the bathroom and walked in apparently whatever he was doing in there was enough to end our friendship.

"Jason said he is all good he is just busy with work like normal, so that means we do not have to worry about protecting him right now." Trystin was still typing away barely acknowledging what I said all he did was nod his head in reply.

"What are you typing anyways?" I asked. He seemed so intense and focused on his computer it made me very curious.

"I am googling abandoned buildings in the area. It must be a building close enough to be convenient. The building also should be far enough away from people to where nobody gets suspicious." this was probably the most useful thing Trystin has come up with yet.

"That is a smart idea. Have you found any yet?" I would think that with all that typing this is not as easy as it sounds.

"I found a couple possibilities, but I am going to dig a little harder and see if anything really sticks out to me." honestly as long as we are putting some effort into figuring this out we have a better shot than the police. The police have yet to come up with a single lead. I really do not think they are even trying.
