"Ladies and gentlemen, you aren't animals, calm yourselves!" The teacher yelled, and technically he wasn't wrong. The cheer girl from English looked at me from her seat diagonal to me. I shrug. I guess everyone else is excited to see Thomas, I wonder why?
She looks at the boy next to me, they both have a silent conversation, before both of them stand, only to switch seats. She settles into her seat, before looking at me. "What's happening?" She asks, a confused look on her face. I give her my phone. She looks at it, analyzing every detail it seems.
"Who's this?" She asks, looking up at me while giving me back my phone. "Thomas," I say simply, and she nods her head. "So that's why all the girls started freaking out. He's fine as hell." She says, as I fake gag. "Come on Popcorn, you can't disagree with me." She says, smirking.
"You guys are acting like he's a movie star," I say simply, laying back in my seat. "Trust me, this will blow over quickly," I say, quickly cutting myself off when we hear a sharp knock on the door. The teacher walks over to the door, all 19 of his students staring him down, I just watch the cheer girl. Whose name I found out was Starla. I look at the door, to see a young boy, around my age. He has blond hair and glasses. He's wearing a blue hoodie, with black jeans with a matching black beanie, and a backpack.
"Hey, uh I'm supposed to be in this class, I think." He says awkwardly. I turn back around to find Starla staring dead at him. So, that's Thomas. I stomp on her toe. She glares at me.
"Ah, yes. Mr. Mansfield, come income in. Ignore the class, everyone's minds are a little crazy on caffeine." He jokes, and Thomas lets out a shy chuckle. "It's fine sir." He says, giving is a pretty boy a smile. I roll my eyes.
Thomas sits up front, and grabs some things in his bag, taking out a notebook and binder. I wonder if life will ever be normal with him in my class. "Ok, class. Let's get back to work."
"So, Thomas is here," I said, walking up to Grey-Man. He looked at me, then back at his phone. "I know, all the girls were gawking at their phones." He swings his backpack over his shoulder, his green cleats hanging the shoestring. Luckily, we both have practice today, so I'm going to be picked up by Grey-Man's mom.
"How long do you think it will last?" He asks me, as I just shrug my shoulders. "Hopefully by the end of this week, or else I'll have to deal with Starla talking about him 24/7," I say, groaning. I place my phone into my pocket, before grabbing my backpack and duffle bag. "Alright, I'm ready," I say, looking back at Grey-Man.
We start to walk down the hall, laughing at our jokes. "No, I'm a girl almost fainted in my class!" He jokes, holding his stomach in laughter. "Speaking of girls, I saw the way you looked at Starla," I say, poking his shoulder, he steps away from me.
"Fuck off, man. I don't even know her." He says, rolling his eyes. "MH, so I'll start a stopwatch for how long it will take her to discover your bullshit," I say smirking, as I readjust my bookbag. We reach the gym doors and I turn on around to look at Grey-Man. "Alright, I'm out 20 minutes before you, so just text me when you get out of Soccer, then we can meet up." He explains, and I nod, before watching him walk into the gym. I walk outside, and towards the soccer field.
"Ok, everyone! Listen up! That's all for today! We have a game this week, so go hard!" Coach yells from the sidelines. We nod and started all walking back to the sidelines. I walk into the locker room, quickly change, then walk back out onto the field, since Grey-Man practiced down the hill.
I wave goodbye to the coach, before walking into the heat. I quickly glance at the bleachers and see someone sitting there. Must be Grey-Man waiting for me. I walk closer to the bleachers, only to notice, this person had blond hair. No one's supposed to be here, while a team is practicing.
Curious, I make my way up the metal bleachers, to see Thomas, glance up at me, before going back to his book. "You know, you're not allowed to be up here, right?" I say, not in a scolding way. Just sarcastic. He looks up at me, his brown eyes scanning over my face. Please don't tell me he's about to kiss me.
He then smiles, before standing up. "Sorry, I just, I needed a place to read." He says kindly. I laugh, holy shit! He is Mr. nice guy. "Naw, man. I was just joking with you." I say, sitting down next to him. "Damn, you changed," I said simply, and he shrugs.
"A youth school would do that to you." He said simply. I looked at him, shocked. "Wait, you went to a youth school. Damn, now I feel bad." I say, looking back at the empty field. "It's whatever. I heard a lot about you." He said, marking his book, before closing it on his lap. I scoff.
"Really, what?" I say, looking down at my lap, I now notice how dirty my Chucks are, I should probably clean them. "People were talking about how; you and JJ broke up. How you're a free man- "He scoffs. "Guess you popular?" He asks me, and I only shrug.
"You could say that."
"Wow, I must have missed a lot." He says, combing his hand through his hair, before placing a cap on top. I look over at him and shake my head. "You don't know the half of it," I say as we both hear a ringing coming from his backpack. He looks at me, "I should probably, take this." He says awkwardly, as I nod at him.
"Yeah, I'm meeting someone anyway. Nice meeting you Thomas." I said, standing up from the uncomfortable seat. "Hey, love." He says into the phone before looking at me. "Bye, Park." He says, smiling. I take it as my exit. I walk down the bleachers, placing the backpack over my shoulders.
When I get to the bottom of the metal structure, I look for Grey-Man, only to find him vaping. "I'm shocked you still do that," I say, pointing to the vape in his mouth. He laughs, taking the vape out of his mouth. "Fuck off." He says, pushing himself off the wall.
"Whatever. You really shouldn't be doing that stuff, man. You're just going to kill yourself." I say, kicking the wall with the side of my foot. He places the vape in his hoodie pocket. "I saw you up there," Grey-Man says simply, walking ahead of me, as we made our way to the parking lot. I rolled my eyes at his change of topic. "You watched me play? If you did, I'm shocked you stayed quiet." I joked as he turned around, just to walk backward.
"No, talking to the pretty boy." He says, almost bumping into the wall. I roll my eyes at him. "Yeah, I thought he was you for a second. By the way, he is a nerd." I joked as Grey-Man chuckled. He placed a hand to his heart, a soft gasp coming from him. "You think I look like a pretty boy?" He asked, in his falling in love voice.
"God, why am I friends with an asshole," I say groaning as I facepalm. "I wonder who I get it from." He says, finally turning around when we make it to the entrance of the school. "Is your ma here?" I ask, ignoring his comment. He looks at his phone before sighing, "Nope. Got to wait. She says she'll be here in like, 5." He says, placing his bag on the ground, ready to wait.
"Meaning it's going to take an hour, right?" I ask him, and he nods. I sigh, placing my bags down, before sitting down too.
