Edward stared at the man in front of him with a grim expression on his face, his eyes darkening. He stood up from the couch throwing one last look at the closed kitchen door before walking up the steps to his room, not a word spoken.
"You have the right to hate me.. boy."Frank spoke his face wet from tears of regret and acceptance."I don't blame you..just like your mother never blamed me.."He muttered the last part looking in the direction of the boy.
"Save it for someone who cares.."Edward muttered through his teeth as he ran up the stair, into his room, violently shutting the door behind him.
Frank stood up, heading towards the kitchen, slightly knocking on the door.
Maria oppened the door, staring at him with a stern look, now after all of her tears had dried up."Frank...I know this is hard for you..but we need to get them back together.."She said quietly, her hair covering her puffy eyes, her lips dried up.
Frank stared at her as his expression hardened."Do you think this is some kind of an intervention huh!?"He spoke with a loud tone, gritting his teeth."You can't just snap your finger and hope everything will be okay..this is not how the real world works!"
Maria looked down at the ground with an expression willed with pain."If you won't do it..I will."She said with a stern tone."And the Universe be my witness I will drag you down with me if you don't do this."She said balling up her fist."He needs to know this.."
"Are you out of your Damn mind woman!?"He yelled at her, hitting the door frame with a fist.
Maria looked at him, her expression changing completely as she grabbed his coat with one hand, pulling him closer to her face, so he would get a closer look of her eyes."I don't want to have to go against you. All these years you had only me to use as a pillar..now I need you. I need your help and you can't refuse me that."She said her breaths shaky and unsure, but stern and full of demand.
"You failed as a mother Maria..in your hopes of protecting him..you kept him away from the truth."Frank with hate and judgement in his eyes as he looked down at her.
"I need your help.."She spoke now despair clear to hear in her voice. She let go of his coat, making a step back as she threw him a pleading look.
"..Alright.."He said finally, accepting what could come for him if he got in touch with the Raiders again. He felt defeated, because he knew she was right.
