Realizing that tears were flowing from my eyes, I quickly wiped it and covered my face in embarrassment. I also removed her from atop me because it was getting uncomfortable. The door was still locked so I was thinking of how to open it then she started talking.
"H-hey are you really alright?"
"Yes, I'm fine now, you don't have to worry about it! We should focus on getting out of this room now."
"A-ah about the key I have it with me."
She then got up and proceeded to open the door with a card like thing. There was awkward silence so we proceeded to exit out of the room and into the countless corridors. I followed her as I don't know the layout of this place, after a few turns here and there we finally managed to reach the meeting room where the door was busted. There are no people inside the others must be doing something, so I found a chair and sat on it. Several footsteps were coming near to the meeting room and there were the people who I met a few hours ago there was the spiky red-haired boy, the one black-haired boy who is strikingly similar to Zeksis, and the gentle-looking girl with wavy blond hair.
"Oy it's that brat again!" shouted the red hair- Heph
"You need to calm down Heph! His just new here!" said the one similar to Zeksis
"HOW CAN I BE CALM AFTER HE ALMOST DESTROYED MY SWORD!?"
"SHUT IT!" shouted the commander
"Yes ma'am."
"Tch."
"We need to be calm here and not cause any ruckus, anyways time for introductions! This boy here with bandaged arms is Tarus! He is our newest member! That red spiky brat is Heph."
"H-hey!"
"The other person who the little brother of Zeksis is Nile Atlea, and the shy girl over there is Mandy, and last but not the least me your amazing and cut-"
"Gorilla tsundere." I caught her off
"Oh I'm gonna be best friends with this guy!" proclaimed Nile
"Keke, that brat is dead!" said Heph
"W-H-A-T DID YOU SAY?!"
"oh no..."
"EVERYONE PLEASE STOP FIGHTING!" shouted with a cute high pitched voice Mandy
"Anyways I'm Lilly! Ok, now we need to discuss the upcoming duels which is a week away, sorry about the discussion Tarus I know you just got here but this duel match is really important for us."
"It's fine! Just go on, I'll catch up in no time!"
"Back to the topic, winning this duel match will not only give us a chance to meet her highness the first princes but also give us access to better weapons and items we might need in the future to fend off the demons on the surface, not only will the first place get those rewards we will even be given recognition from his greatness the Grandmaster himself!"
"That sure is a good deal if we take first place, or at least if someone here reaches first place!"
"Rigorous training will be held to ensure the first place! So good luck guys! We will be training very hard this last week before the duels!"
We then proceeded into two groups, Lilly was with Mandy and I'm with Nile and Heph, I and Heph are still not on good terms so I ignored him. The training consisted of physical training, swordsmanship, crown training, and controlling your own Thyl. It was very tough for the first 3days but I got used to the training exercise and the week passed by quickly. On the night before the match, we had a huge feast! There were so many different foodstuffs on the table and it looked so delicious! I ate a ton and was so full I couldn't move any longer, so I sat in the corner chair to rest. Mandy headed over to where I sat and she sat beside me.
"I really have to thank you for saving me the other day from getting attacked by Heph..." she whispered
This was my first time talking to her, she really is the shy type...in an adorable way of course! She was very timid and didn't talk much so I'm surprised.
"I didn't do anything! I don't deserve your thanks!"
"B-but.."
"Let's leave it at that okay?"
"O-oki...."
"Shouldn't you eat more food?"
"N-no thanks, I'm full..."
"Ah! I know a place you would like! C'mon, grab onto my hand!"
"W-wha!"
I grabbed her hand and we ran out of the room swiftly to make sure no one noticed us. After running past several corridors we entered a training room and I went through the options and it looked very alien to me but I remembered what Zeksis did to change the weather options. I set it to "windy night" and the ceiling changed into countless stars covering it and there was a gentle breeze. When I looked at Mandy she was covering her mouth with teary eyes, tears flowed out of her eyes and into the ground.
"H-hey are you okay?"
"Y-yes I'm fine...I'm just awestruck that there is an option to set the training room to this....it's so beautiful, I haven't been to the surface in a long time. I only have fuzzy memories of the surface. You see my parents were killed by several demons on a starry windy night like this and they sacrificed their lives just to save someone like me....they didn't die like that...they were just humble farmers working day in, day out for us to thrive and they get killed just like that...I can't help but remember....."
"I'm sorry for your loss...something very similar also happened to me...the village I lived in got struck by a meteor and not a single soul survived, I was very lucky to not be in the village at the time the meteorite crashed. I'm sure our parents are in someplace nicer now, living peacefully in the afterlife....."
"I'm also sorry to hear about that! It must be very embarrassing for you to talk to me about that! I'm very sorry!"
I grabbed her head and laid her near my chest....she needed someone no- we all needed someone to rely on and help and guide us to live in this crap of a life. She started to shed tears as she silently wept in my chest, she went into a deep sleep and I had a sudden Déjà vu.
"Isn't that gonna cause some misunderstandings?" said the arrogant gorilla
"Can't you give us some privacy?!"
"I'm sorry about what happened to you, I overheard it.....I didn't know you had a past like that...."
"It's fine...everyone eventually dies....."
"yeah....so we need to get stronger and protect ourselves because no one else will be able to protect us, we must avenge our families! We need to defeat the Sin of Greed who caused all of this chaos and massacre for the past 150 years!"
"You sure are one muscle brained woman!"
"Hmph! I'm being serious here! Your annoying!!"
Her drills on both sides of her hair kept on spinning when she gets angry...how adorable! She sat on the ground and leaned her head on my shoulder, I was surprised but I didn't mind.
"If only this kingdom could have lived in peace...countless lives would've been saved....."
She stopped talking and started to sleep.....with what they have experienced it gave me even more motivation to get stronger and kill that Sin of Greed!
