On a cool morning, I was woken up by the annoying sound of my little brother shouting my name.
"Taruuuussss!!! Wakeeeee uppppp!!!" He shouted.
"I'm wide AWAKE, thanks to someone, Geez you need to calm down."
"Mom made breaaakfastttt!"
"Yes, I'm coming." I replied.
As I got dressed, I walked down the rickety stairs of our old house and sat down on a chair in the dining room waiting patiently for breakfast.
"Good morning hun!!" Mom shouted excitedly.
"You up kid?" Dad said as if I was still sleeping.
"C-Crap! I'm gonna be late meeting Cherri!"
"H-hun, make sure to eat your food first!!" Mom proclaimed.
"Oy Brat!! Get back here!"
As I ran toward the door to the outside world I heard the cries of my parents in the distance.
"Don't worry, Cherri promised to make me some food!" I shouted back.
"Damned Brat!!"
I got out of the house and ran past the bakery and General store and into the village plaza where Cherri and I promised to meet, the EXCITEMENT was immeasurable!
"YEEEESSS, I can FINALLY have a taste of Cherri's cooking!!! What a time to be alive!!" I shouted out of pure excitement.
Out of embarrassment, I covered my face whilst I ran.
I reached the Village plaza and saw a small figure about the same as my height, she was wearing a frilly dress as if she was a princess, she was standing there idly and looking C-U-T-E. Yes, you read that right!! The CUTEST girl in the world!!
"Yooooo Cherriii!!"
"Good morning Tarus!"
"Sorry if I'm late...I overslept.." I covered my face in embarrassment.
"O-oh...don't be! I just also got here."
"A-ah I see. Well then shall we!"
"Yup! Let's go to our picnic spot that you mentioned!"
As we were walking, I heard a voice that was muffled and it scared the living daylight out of me.
[D0 n't c0me BaCk, gEt aS fAr aWay As p0SsiBle!]
Was it just my imagination?
"Hey, Cherri...did you hear a voice?"
"Hmm? No, I didn't"
"Nevermind then."
Half our passed by and we reached our destination, it was a cliff with a huge tree with a field of flowers overlooking the village.
"What a sight to see!" Cherri claimed happily.
"It took me a few hours to find this spot!"
"You did a very good job Tarus! Have a head pat!"
"Wh-wha?" I blushed as I willingly accepted her head pats. IT WAS THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD!
"Th-Thanks..."
"Anytime! HeHe." Cherri Chuckled.
As we were enjoying our picnic Cherri pointed at the sky.
"Hey Tarus, make a wish!"
"huh?"
"Look a shooting star and it looks like it so near!"
"Woahhhhh, that's so cool! Wait let me wish"
As I was thinking of something to wish the mysterious muffled voice spoke to me again.
[Cl0oSe y0Ur eYes!]
I heard the loud sound of something falling from the sky...It was a huge Meteorite!
"Cherri we have to look for shelter, we're gonna get hit by a meteorite!!"
"What about the food?"
"Forget about the food! Our life is more important! There, I see a cave! c'mon!"
"O-okay!"
We tried to grab some food supplies as we ran toward safety. We ran as fast as we could with our nimble feet.
Cherri tripped over an overgrown root, I grabbed her arm and jumped into the entrance of the cave. I could hear the roaring sound of the Meteorite falling from the sky.
"Cherri are you okay?"
"I think I'm fine, just a little tired."
"Ok, I'm glad you're fine."
"Thanks."
A few minutes passed as we were hugging each other tightly out of fear.....we heard huge explosions.
"Wh-what was that?!" Cherri shouted as she was shaking
"The meteorite probably crashed....N-no way, DONT TELL ME IT CRASHED IN THE VILLAGE!"
"Sob...Sob...Mom, Dad, Ellaine...Sob." Cherri started crying.
"Hey, hey stop crying...I'm sure they're fine! I'm here for you!" I claimed as I was realizing the fear that my family as well as the whole village were blown to smithereens.
"Tch.....I'm sure everyone is okay! I'm sure of it!" I claimed without any real evidence.
30 minutes had passed and everything calmed down as if nothing happened....it was very cold in the cave and Cherri cried herself to sleep while lying in my arms. For the third time... I heard a mysterious voice.
[D0n't lEaVe HeR, SaVe hEr. I BeG yOuuu~~]
The mysterious voice stuttered and disappeared. After that, I got curious about what happened outside and as I walked out of the cave.....the smell of smoke and the heat of fire...the village was blown up and burning...
