Chapter 3
Gareth and Dahlia already left, my heart is truly happy for them. I'm now left with this dude for the whole day, and oh I remembered I was supposed to go get some ice cream and stop by the base to get rid of some things. "Hey, I'm gonna head out to buy some ice cream" he looked at me "Aren't you supposed to rest?" I know I should but I'm craving. "Maybe not, bye"I left immediately.
On the green rusty door, I tapped. Went on and placed all the useless things in a box and burned it out on the small yard, when I came back I saw an old diary lying on my floor, I guess I dropped it earlier. It was filled with photos, I can't remember much but I look happy in all of them, there were also some dried roses in plastics with dates written on each. And four handwritten letters placed on random pages, this is so precious. "You burned your things?" a random girl came to me, "Yeah, they're no use anyways" I raised my shoulders. "You've got a point there" she said. "I'll burn mine too, tomorrow" I chuckled, "Oh trust me it's better if you do it now" but it's her choice. "Uhh Maybe tomorrow" she uttered hesitantly. "Okay, I'll see you around" and I left.
I brought my journal and the diary with me and bought two tubs of ice cream, the sky was very pretty so I took some pics of it and ofcourse my selfies. I just wore a simple crop top and some mom jeans. The elevator was not broken, wow. I saw some guys get out of my unit so I hurried. They were carrying a sofa, Tv, a computer set, some gym stuff and more kitchen essentials. "Excuse me" I said politely. I went to Leo who was just leaning on the counter top watching all these men do thw work "Hey what's happening" I whispered as I stood next to him. "No place it next to the wall" I thought he was talking me. "I'm staying here longer than I expected, so I bought some things to you know upgrade your place a bit" he really that rich huh. "Thank you" I whispered, "What? did you say something?" he moved his ears closer to me "I said Thank you" then he gave me a pat on the head.
"What's that?" he pointed on my diary. "My old diary and a journal" I showed it to him, the rose petals fell but he picked it up before I could. he raised his eyebrows "Where'd you get these?" I placed it back, "I forgot exactly where, these are old stuff" I said. "Anyways I bought some ice cream for us" I raised the plastic to show him "for us?" I nodded, "I haven't had these for years" my eyes widened "Y-you can buy a whole company but an ICE CREAM are you for real?!" he laughed.
I got a spoonful of the cookies and cream "Open your mouth it's melting" he almost ate the spoon. "mhm this is now my favorite ice cream" he smiled. I also got some for myself not realizing that I almost eat half tub. "Give me more" he tapped my shoulder, oh I forgot. I got another another spoonful of it and before he could eat the ice cream he said "I bought a new camera" he showed me, "we should take some pics" that would be nice "Sure" he then turned it on and pointed it towards us, I shoved the spoon to his mouth, he opened it wide and I smiled. It was a nice shot, "I like taking pictures, so I can have something to look at when I'm old and smile like an idiot because those were the good days" yeah same. I also want to have pictures that I can bear as I walk the long roads of life and look them, smile and laugh remembering exactly those moments.
"A whole peace, this is rare" I gasped as i saw a whole piece of cookie, I slowly got it out. I hear the camera click to so I looked at him my brows furrowed, and then more clicks "Why? you want to look at my photos like I'm your greatest memory, huh? I said sarcastically. He showed me the photos, To be honest I look really cute. "You're an unforgettable one" my face heated. We ate ice cream while watching these men arrange the things inside, it looked more of a home because he added more furniture.
We looked like a newly wed couple in their new home. Ew what was I thinking, my face heated by that thought. He said something but I couldn't really hear it because they were drilling the walls. "I'm sorry what?" I said, he stared at me before saying "I should take more pictures of you" he flicked through the photos he got. My face is turning red, how can he be that smooth. He literally can put butterflies in your stomach with a single sentence. "You're great at photography" I smiled, he was lost of words at first. "Thank you, my brother used to teach me things about photography. We were really close, before the stupid inheritance came. He can't even look straight to my eyes anymore" he sighed. "Did you know that I have some serious addiction to ice cream, like for a month a can't go on without ice cream, especially cookies and cream. And I know it's dumb that's why I stopped" I changed the subject, he chuckled. After some moments they're finally done, it feels more calm with light colors. We went on to do our own things, while I was cleaning my room I came along this box with some random things like a ring, some books and my paintings. I remembered reading this one book while I was on my way here, I haven't finish it yet but I'm halfway done so I decided to continue reading by my window. But first I changed into some comfortable clothes. I feel at peace when I read books or when I'm writing down my thought, it's like my silent therapy, a place where I want to be. At peace, but for now I have to finish some things before I could live peacefully.

While Selene was reading her book, Leo passed by her room. Taking a peek, she looked so peaceful perhaps books are her escape. She might not recall but she truly is his greatest memory. The lighting from her window makes her look more unreal. She's a true beauty. Freedom and Peace looks good on her. He took his camera and pointed it to her through a small opening of her door, he took several photos. Selene averted her gaze and saw him she flashed a smile right when he clicked. "That was pure" he said. He went to his computer to develop the photos and keep it in a box along with his momentous things. He thought of one thing that was truly bothering him, how she knew his name.
I know it's weird but I only arranged the files alphabetically and I don't have a call card, she's twisting facts. Sharp as a knife, she cuts more and when she does, no one would know she do things quickly and precise leaving nothing. But If I am a dull knife, doesn't it mean that I go before her. I've been thinking too much I have to rest for a bit. He watched TV and he fell asleep. He woke up to someone tapping his cheeks, "Hey what do you want for dinner" Selene kneeled to his level. Half asleep he said "Steak, I go for steak" She went to the kitchen. She's thankful of him, he stayed with her though they just knew each other for a few weeks. It's a different feeling for her, how she feels safe when she's with him. "But when it hurts I can make it better" she sang. "You can sing?!" she jumped whe she heard him, "Yeah" he noticed something, she's slowly being comfortable with him. And nothing makes a man happy than a woman feeling comfortable with them. "girl if this works this gon be forever" she automatically faced him. "Wait you actually know that song" he nodded. "Cool" the vibe would be inevitable with people who has the same music taste. "I actually haven't heard that song for years or so, it just randomly popped on my mind" she said as she was preparing the plates. "I'll be the one to do that" he insisted. They let the song play (Love don't change - Jeremih Slowed version) while they ate.

we shared a glass of wine after dinner "My brother got into a serious addiction and my dad can't risk the company to him so he decided to pass it to me. I was fine with living simply before and everything seem to change, and maybe I'm not just ready." he admitted. "I just don't feel like being here you know" he sighed. "You know, we feel lost sometimes because the path we're walking on isn't the one we wanted, but maybe it's the one you really deserve." I poured more wine on my glass. "I don't want to be here, I want to disappear. And never be back, I lost everyone who wants me and loves me" when life seems to fall apart we just want to disappear to stop the pain. "But what if someone still wants you here, are you gonna leave them" he scoffed "Like someone wants me haha" I Shook my head.
"What if I do, Mr. Colton?" he stared at me. "You do?" he said raising his eyebrows, "Yeah, ofcourse I do" I simply said before going to do the dishes, he was still staring at me in disbelief. "Are you serious?" I scoffed "Do I look like a clown to you" he Shook his head no. "Then, if I want you. I want you stop asking questions Mr. Colton. Redundant" his jaw dropped. I left him on the kitchen. I went on to take a shower and brushed my teeth, I forgot to buy some skincare products. Maybe tomorrow after work. I forgot to drink water like I always do before going to bed, and to my surprise he's still at the kitchen staring blankly. "Are you going to sleep at the couch? It's okay if you sleep in my bed" I caught his attention. "No look" he grabbed me by the hands to the living room. He waved his hands for me to wait, then he pulled under the couch and it transformed into a bed. "Yes, I'll sleep here" I was about to lie down but he pulled me instead, bringing me close to his body, feeling his breath on my shoulders only an inch from each other. I moved away. "No you're sleeping on the bed, it's much better there" he disagreed, I pouted "but I like it here" He smirked, "Then you can sleep with me here, I'm guessing you like cuddles" He winked, I made a disgusted face. "On second thought, the bed is more fluffy so I'll take it. Goodnight Mr. Leo Colton" I drank water before going back to bed.
I got up early to make breakfast there was this note on the fride that wrote. 'bacon and eggs for breakfast please' and so I did. I brought a bacon close to his nose, he sniffed it and immediately sat up. "Bacon?" I nodded. He was like a zombie walking to the kitchen. I was preparing the plates while he was just standing there, I froze when he suddenly hugged me from behind. "Thank you for listening" I rubbed his arm "I'm always here for you dude, Always" we sat down for breakfast but I finished first so left him, took a bath and went to work.
He arrived late, I gave him all the papers he has to sign and reminders, meetings and all. I was just chilling doing my thing, but this woman barged in I had no time to stop her so just followed from behind. She slapped him "How ungrateful are you, your brother did everything for you. You already had a great life, he's been working on this for a long time. And you just got it effortlessly. You shouldn't be here, you don't deserve any of this. You hear me?! You are so worthless, it makes me wonder why are you even alive" She's Very violent with words. "I'm sorry. We can just talk about it with my dad. I'll be glad to step down from this position, ma'am." he seem so calm. She almost touched him again but I made sure that she'll never do that again, I called the security and they said she was not granted to enter, she's done this before. And we will not tolerate this. She actually injured one employee because of her impulsive behavior, it was not a serious injury, but still. She's done it before, now and will never again. It was her step mom, her dad's ex wife. Before his mom.
I faced her and bowed to show respect. "With all due respect ma'am, you are not allowed to barge in especially if you were not granted to, I hope you respect that ma'am. And cursing someone's life is not your job, he is worthy of what he has and if you could learn some proper Manners you can settle it without such violence. Have a Good day ma'am, we won't be seeing you again. The security will be banning you from entering this company from now on. Thank you" the security got her out, she was still throwing tantrums.
I went to him, he frustratedly sighed as he sat down, "Does it hurt" I gently touched his cheek, it was red, and slightly bleeding maybe because of the rings she wore, he wiped the blood off. "Yeah I'm fine you can go back to work now. Thank you" he reassured me, I know he isn't. I don't really know what he wants but I think ice cream will cheer him up. When lunch break came, I got my coat and went to the nearest store to but some cookies and cream. He hasn't escape a miserable life, it's like living with no soul. Imagine waking up and going through the same thing and you can't leave. And while I'm still here, I want to make things better for him. I came to him eating his lunch, with a miserable face. Aww Mr. Colton "I bought your favorite" his face immediately lit up. I opened it up and got a spoon. " Thank you" he then closed his lunch and proceeds to eat the ice cream. "Do you have some time later?" he turned his attention to me, he looks like a child. "We can have a movie night" I wiped of the excess on his mouth. "Ofcourse, that will be great" yey. I have to prepare, I left to eat lunch and I can't wait tonight.
When it was already time I hurried, but the elevator kept me waiting. I bought some snacks and ofcourse my skin care. Drinks and some plushie. I picked a great movie, waited for the popcorn and it's all set. Why is he taking so long, "Leo, you done yet?" he's taking a bath, but it's almost an hour. I knocked but no one answered it was just the water running. I know I shouldn't but what if, I can't wait no more. I got the keys and I saw him sitting at a corner with his boxers, is he sleeping or did he, No no no. I got him out of shower. "Wake up, please" he won't. I put on a robe so his body warms up, he still won't. I have to do this, I gave him cpr. He still got his pulse. "Please stay" banged on the door loudly, he slowly opened his eyes. Thank God. "Oh God thank you so much" I held him while he's got no clue. "What happened?" he asked, we're at the bathroom floor I was leaning on the wall, soaking wet. "Stay, please.. Stay" I mumbled as I was hugging him. "What if I can't" his voice cracked. "For me? Please" I begged. I can't lose another, he just kissed my hand. I stood up and lend him my hands, "now go change the movies about to start" I changed mine to a simple pajama and shirt. He was already at the couch waiting so I scooted to him and played the movie. "I was just curious, what's your love language?" his brows furrowed as If he was thinking. " I guess it's affirmation and touch, I don't really know about that." I nodded and went back to watch the movie, wrong timing it was an intense part, so I looked around and pretended to look for something.
When it was already done i got a bag of chips and opened a soda, "They do be having a great night" he chuckled. They really did. And there comes the emotional part, "Why would he leave her like that" I sobbed, he's looking at me laughing because I was crying nonstop. "Chill I ain't leaving you" he was still laughing. I wiped off my tears, "Oh no child don't cry again, they'll probably end up together" I glared at him "now you're spoiling the movie" he put both his hands up as a defense. And they did end up together, and kissed multiple times. Ew romance. We ate everything left, it was just the two of us. "Did I told you about my house?" I can't recall "Nope" he grabbed me and his keys. "Hey what's the hurry about" I was so confused, "I'm taking you there" Oh okay. When we arrived it was not done the materials are lying around. "This was supposed to be done by next month but the construction stopped because of a shooting incident in which I lost one of my workers. It was all my fault, If I didn't take the company I would be living peacefully and probably a vet" he said. My heart hurts for him, he might need a hug so I gave him. I was taking in his manly scent as he buried his face to my neck. "You can stay at my place as long as you want" I draw circles at his back. "Since it's almost Christmas we can put decors together spend thanksgiving with Dahlia and Gareth, that would be great" I keep talking. He caught me off guard when he kissed my forehead all of a sudden and hugged me for a another minute. It was cold outside so I dragged him to the car and drove home. It doesn't feel right if I leave him alone, aha we can sleep at the bed and just put pillows as barriers. I cleaned up our mess and told him to sleep at the bed he can't do nothing about it since he's sleepy already.
He was already at my side when I woke up. I cooked simple breakfast and showered, still early so I took a walk. I passed by the base, there were police outside, I quickly walked by and came home to Leo already eating and glaring at me like I did some crime. "I just took a walk, a healthy walk" I wiped off my Sweat "Hooh" I act like I was stretching, and ran to my room. I prepared my clothes just like what a secretary would wear, and took a bath. He already left, huh. What the?!! I'm late. I hurried down and was breathless when I arrived. He has to attend an event tonight, so I was preparing the whole day. I tightened the security also. "You have to be by my side for the whole night, and you know go with the flow" he's like my son at this point, I have to follow him everywhere. We're currently at this huge wardrobe, I'm adjusting his tie. "Sir here's the dress you asked for" an employee came in and handed me the dress. "Ofcourse for my lady" it was a black maxi dress with a slit, It hugs my body perfectly and I forgot it kinda shows your mhm the cleavage a bit. I haven't wore dresses for a year, I'm always the jeans on the go kind of person. I did a light make-up and black heels to match the aura. "What do you think" his eyebrows raised, he was lost with words. I walked to him "Fascinating, Can i take you home miss?" he smirked, "Your house is still under construction Sir, that may be the problem" I chuckled. He looked up and held his chin, like he's thinking "Well maybe a couple more months."
He gave the invitation to me "You should have reminded me about your date" he looked at me confused. "Oh I forgot" he took a deep breathe "Selene..You are my date" this guy really is unbelievable sometimes. He placed his hands on my waist as we enter. Eyes were on us. He acted a bit different, "Just as I expected, Leo Thyrence Colton" an old man approached us, I roamed my eyes. Everything is shiny, whay do you expect selene they all are buisness man and woman. "Who's this stunning lady" he was about to offer his hand but Leo took it instead. "My girlfriend, and probably my soon to be wife" he chuckled. "You got lucky, huh. I'm glad the company was handed to you, how's your brother doing?" I know this topic would be up. "I haven't seen him for a while. I don't think I'll be here for long. He deserves this more than I do" I excused myself to the bathroom.
The security called.
[We secured the place]
"Okay, good. But still we have to watch out"
I ended the call and washed my hands.
"Excuse me sir" can't this guy hear. "The party's kinda plain, wanna spice it up?" the audacity he has. "Babe, what's taking you long?" I turned to Leo who was just standing behind him. "Ah nothing really, this door won't budge, can't seem to find a way out" I knocked on the guy's shoulder. "Oh silly door, can you please let my girlfriend through?" he stepped aside. He placed his hands around my waist, like he is marking his territory. "He asked me to spice it up. Tell me, don't I look spicy enough?" I ranted to him "You look really spicy, that's why I want you to stay with me." and as said, I stayed with him the whole night.
We dropped ourselves as the couch, the minute we arrived. "My feet hurts" I groaned as I removed my shoes, " Ahhh My back too" he slips from the couch. "What's for dinner" he stood up and walked to the kitchen. "We're eating dinner?" ofcourse we are. "Fast food" we said at the same time. "You're driving" he said as he left. "Uggghhhh"
We're at an empty parking lot eating our late dinner. "Have you ever wonder of how people have met their soulmates in a weird way. Like God said, Okay so today, Dahlia will meet her soulmate at her grandpa's funeral." he laughed. "Yeah, like how I met you" I flicked his forehead "You always find a way huh" I yawned. "You're driving" his smile disappeared. He kissed the top of my head, "you're lucky you look spicy" he chuckled before going to the driver's seat.
I had a cold shower and did my skincare routine. "What are you doing" he popped up on the door way "Skin care, why?" he sniffed on the face mask, "You look like an avocado" he almost touched my face. "Noo touchingggg, Why you want some?" he nodded like a child. After that, I was putting some moisturizer on my face and again he was just staring at me. I smiled wickedly as I ran to him, he was terrified. "Now you're all good" his eyes were closed as he dramatically touched his face. I can't sleep yet so I tried to tease him. "Babe, come closer" I tapped on the space next to me. He smirked and strangled me with his legs and hugged me tight. "I was just kidding, Leo Colton let me go" I was struggling as I tried to get out of his grip. Until I fell to the floor. "Leo Thyrence Colton!!" He was laughing his lungs out. "Enjoying the night babe?" he said before throwing a pillow at me, that ended up to a pillow fight.
