"Alex...." he started as she walked and skimmed through the books in the bookshelves. They were in the basement, Robbie's secret nook where two big book shelves stood leaning by the walls, near the stairs and a small blue couch was on a carpeted floor. There was a forty-inch tv in front of the couch just a feet away.
A mini-bar was in one corner of the room and a guitar was hanging on one side of the wall along side a baseball cap and a no. 2 baseball jersey, that had the name "Jeter" on it, which she recognized. That was both hers.
She went over and stood in front of it. Her eyebrows creased. Those were some more items that she owned and Robbie had kept them all these years.
Why?
"You kept it..." she whispered.
She couldn't believe she would still see it again after all these years. When she left, she only had a few items with her. Basic clothing that could fit one small suitcase as she was in such a hurry that time.
She was already pregnant when she left. She went to a doctor for a routinary check up, only to find out that she was at least two weeks pregnant.. with his baby. She needed to leave quickly so she packed what she thought would be needed and just left.
Robbie stood behind her and spoke up.
"They're on loan," he teased and she span around to him.
Alex smiled nervously as he was too close to her. She could feel her breath hitched as she gazed at his magnetic brown eyes.
"Really? So, what would be the payment to have it back?" she teased.
She was liking this conversation although she was feeling a bit nervous. Now that both of them were fully aware of everything, she knew there will be no escape of telling there was pure sexual tension between them.
They were standing close to each other and Robbie couldn't help but look at her lips. He pushed a strand of hair behind her ear and his finger caressed her cheek.
"I missed you, Alex," he whispered. His eyes had been longing to tell her for so long. Since yesterday, he had wanted to tell her that but they never had gotten the chance since they were always arguing. Now, after last night, he felt that it was time to tell her how he felt.
That he missed her every second. Every minute... every hour of everyday since she left... and even this morning the longing just kept growing.
'A kiss would be great right now,' he thought. His eyes still not departing from her lips.
"I missed you, too, Robbie," she whispered back as she gazed into him as there eyes met. Suddenly she felt drawn to him and just like last night, she knew in herself she won't be able to resist him if he ever tried to kiss her.
Was it possible that she might be having feelings for him?
That could not be. He was a good friend and she knew they will never work... because he might still be confused and in the end, she will only be left alone again. Just like all the other guys she had in her life. They never stayed... and soon, she and Robbie will separate, too, according to the signed agreement on paper.
"Alex..." he started again. Robbie didn't want to talk about it but he felt like they should.
"About last night-"
Alex shook her head. "N-Nothing happened, Robbie. It was... it was my fault. You were so drunk and... you vomitted," and she looked away. She pulled away from him and walked towards the bookshelves again. She was looking at the books but never really interested in picking one.
"You must have drank so much to the point you have to vomit all of it," she laughed emptily.
"Yeah..." he chuckled. "Sorry, it must have been a turn off."
"Turn-off? No, Robbie. I didn't get turned off. Why would I be?" and she turned to him.
"Alex... I remember what happened last night. Everything..." he said and walked over to her. He was standing too close to her again and between the bookshelf and his hard chest, she felt trapped. She swallowed hard.
"Well... whatever happened shouldn't have happened in the first place."
"What do you mean?"
"You're too drunk, Robbie. You might not be in yourself when you.. kissed me and I.. I didn't have any sex for years so... the moment you touched me, I-I gave in. I'm sorry if I misled you in a way."
"Misled me? From what? You think I didn't kiss you on purpose? Wait! Are you telling me.. that it was a mistake?" he asked. He was starting to get upset.
"Well... yeah. What do you think it was?" Alex said as she watched Robbie's lips pursed.
He moved away from her and shoved his hand through his hair. He couldn't believe she was doing it again.
"A mistake?! Why am I f-kng mistake?" he didn't realize he had said it loudly in anger as he felt Alex tried to grab his arm but he swung it away from her.
"Robbie..." Alex tried to say something but she didin't know exactly what were the right words. She could see how upset he was but she wasn't sure how to calm him down.
He tried not to feel hurt but that was what exactly how he felt. Those words she used were the most painful thing she had ever said to him.
How could she ever think that every time something happened between them it was a mistake?
It felt like he didn't have any value to her...
"Something happened last night, Alex," and he placed his hands on his hips. "Why do you keep denying it?"
"I am not denying anything, Robbie. Clearly, you were drunk. How would I even know that I am who you think I am? What if you're thinking of a guy while doing it to me?"
"Bullsht! I called you in your full name, didn't I? I called you Allison, remember?" his voice raised as his hands balled to a fist in anger. He was trying his best to keep his control.
"Yes... but-"
"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO PROVE TO YOU THAT I AM NOT GAY, ALEX? TELL ME!"
Alex crossed her arms in defense. She could feel Robbie's eyes piercing through her in anger but she was not fazed by it. She needed to tell him what was on her mind.
"Having sex with me still doesn't change the fact that you might still be attracted to guys. It just happened that I'm the one available so-"
"Dammit!" he cursed. He was tired of this. Tired of all her excuses...
Like a bull seeing red, he walked briskly to her. With one arm, he pulled her close and planted an angry kiss on her lips. He grazed over her lips hungrily. He had one goal in mind: make her beg for it.
Unmerciful as he was now, he would not let her go until she pleaded... gone were the good and gentle Robert James. He will show her who the boss was... the beast inside of him that wanted to come out since the day they saw each other again.
He was tired of being called a mistake... that every kiss and every touch was not worthy. This time he would not give her a chance. He was done being the good guy who always bowed down to her.... he would take full control.
Alex could feel the intense kiss that Robbie was giving her. She could feel his hard body against hers and didn't know what to think of it.
Why was he suddenly being rough?
She knew the reason why yet, she was confused. It felt like he was taking revenge on her... and yet, she obliged. Robbie became a different person all of a sudden and the odd thing was, she liked it. There was a sudden rush of heat all over her body that she couldn't fan out. There was excitement... a thrill... and she anticipated his every touch on her body.
She was finally warming up to his kiss and Robbie was delighted. He continued with his devious plan of making her want him... so he pushed her against the bookshelf, her head bumped in the process but instead of complaining, she moaned.
'So she liked this better,' he thought and he pulled her legs up. He heard another moan escaped from her lips as she gripped his shoulders for support. He let go of her lips and kissed her neck all the way down her shoulders, sliding off the straps, both the dress and her bra, and revealed a perfect mountain for him to taste.
He looked at her face, her eyes closed. She was clearly enjoying this and he got excited. He took the peak into his mouth as she gasped. He sucked on it, like a little baby sucking for milk, and she let out a cry of pleasure. Her hand gripped his hair as he kept sucking until the peak hardened and he licked it.
"Sht!" she cursed. It had been awhile since she had felt this way and her body begged for more.
Robbie lifted the strap again to its place as he kissed her lips once again. As much as he wanted to continue, he needed to stop before his whole body lose control, too. He just needed enough for her to lose herself.
Reluctantly, he let her go and Alex felt intoxicated that she almost lost balance from the sudden movement he did. She opened her eyes. A gush of coldness drew to her as their bodies separate, and she shivered. She felt disappointed as she saw him walking away.
Her eyebrows crossed.
'What was that all about?' she wondered.
Then she saw him mounting up the steps.
"Robbie.." she called but he didn't respond and he continued walking up the steps.
