The fight turned into a bloody chaos. Trees were uprooted, red human blood and grey monster blood flew constantly through the air. Pitiful screams and painful howls mixed with each other before they were swallowed by the bloodthirsty screams from the monster wave.
Loud booming sounds echoed through the area as if bombs had been used...
Alfonso was still standing on the wall of cars, watching the madness unfolding around him.
He had no intention to spent his stamina so early and mindlessly rush at the monsters. Alfonso couldn't see Nik anywhere, 'He will be fine as long he doesn't suddenly turn into an idiot and ignores everything I have taught him...'
The situation wasn't looking good, he saw many Rookie Slayers being overwhelmed by the sheer number of monsters storming at them. He recently had to create another blade, after the first one broke when he slashed a monster which managed to slip by. He noticed the glare Uhrmann gave him. It stood out that he was the only one standing there without doing much.
He was thinking that they would lose sooner or later if the situation wasn't dealt with when some of the Senior Slayers guarding the convoy finally made their move.
They crashed into the monster wave with such power and ferocity that Alfonso thought that the bloodthirsty monsters had turned into a herd of sheeps. He sighed in delight after figuring out what the Senior Slayers were up to. They would only burst into action for a short moment to stabilize the situation, leaving then the rest for the Rookie Slayers to deal with.
'They are using this Monster Wave as a grinding stone...' Thought Alfonso in delight as it played right into his hands.
He didn't wait any longer, jumping down while planning where to go first.
Slayer Uhrmann frowned when he saw him jumping down and vanishing between the trees, he had no intention to stop him as he needed to keep the situation stable. He only thought that it was a pity...
Alfonso wanted first to climb on some trees but it turned out to be a bad idea as even these Minion Rank Monsters could uproot them easily or climb up themselves. He made sure to not go too far away, not noticing that his eyes had already turned pupil-less pitch black.
Black monsters with grey stripes rushed madly towards him. Alfonso smiled faintly for a second before his expression turned cold. He put his blade back into his body.
The air around him started to shake, creating a low rumbling sound. The monsters were only a few meters away from him, he could already smell their disgusting smell.
"HAHH!" Shouted Alfonso before stomping hard on the ground with his right leg. The ground immediately cracked open into all directions with a shockwave erupting from him, blasting all the monsters away. He didn't let these Minion Rank Monsters any time to figure out what happened to them, dashing with inhuman speed forward.
His fist which was surrounded by trembling air came crashing down upon the vicious looking head of a monster. Another loud shockwave erupted and the ground was torn apart. He was using Shockwave and Tremor Manipulation at the same time. It was taxing but at the same time intoxicating. This was the power he was craving, the power he wanted for years...
He lifted his fist looking down at the mince meat turned grey colored flesh that was once a head. His senses showed him that three monsters were pouncing at him from behind, he spun around delivering a punch to the air in front of him. The three monsters that had jumped into the air were blasted away by the shockwave he created. The ground was torn apart again with a large patch of earth being lifted up by another powerful stomp of him, shielding him from further attacks from other monsters.
His senses were working perfectly with his superhuman-like reflexes. A monster managed to climb over the patch of earth, jumping at him with its claws and mouth wide open.
Alfonso dodged to the side, avoiding the attack, quickly grabbing the neck of the monster. Not holding back and crushing its neck with the power of Tremor Manipulation. He wanted to throw it aside but the mouth on his palm reacted to the prey he was holding. It opened on its own, devouring the monster in his hand in a matter of seconds. Alfonso gasped in shock, he could feel new heat entering his body, replenishing some of his stamina.
'I didn't think that it would be like this...'
Alfonso turned around, facing the other minions with a cold expression. He didn't forget to check if any other Slayer was near him, taking action after confirming that he was alone.
One monster after another was brutally killed and devoured by him. He could feel his power slowly growing stronger, the hunger that he always felt after becoming a Slayer also vanished.
His Seismic Sense expanded to 55 meters around him after only 10 minutes of fighting and devouring.
His shockwaves and tremors were also becoming stronger...He looked around himself, noticing the degree of destruction he had unleashed on the forest while fighting the monsters from the abyss.
Alfonso's Detect & Destroy fighting style was finally taking form after going through this experience.
'I should rotate towards different locations...' Decided Alfonso after thinking about it. He didn't want anyone to figure out that it was his doing what happened there.
He went on a killing spree inside the forest near the highway, always making sure that there weren't any Slayers near him, only stopping when he noticed that the numbers of monsters became less and less.
He took out his blade again, noticing the changes in it. The white color was slowly turning darker. The power he could unleash now was two times stronger than before. His blade wouldn't break easily anymore after slashing monsters. Alfonso began to swing his blade right and left, slashing up and down at the monsters pouncing at him. This kind of fighting style was different and harder for him. He would simply overpower the monsters with his Seismokinesis but he was only using his blade and Seismic Sense. Alfonso found himself heavily relying on his superior reaction time to retreat when the monsters were about to overwhelm him...
He made sure to stay near other Slayers for them to see him in action.
The fight lasted over an hour until they finished off the last Minion Rank Monster. Alfonso had now a good understanding of them, even a Rookie Slayer could kill a Minion Rank Monster in an one-on-one battle as long they weren't cowards or stupid but their huge numbers was what made them really dangerous...
Alfonso jumped over the old cars, the highway had only a few corpses lying around...
Uhrmann lifted his eyebrows in surprise when he saw him, Sebastian too was surprised when he saw him coming back.
Alfonso looked around, "Where is Lauch?"
Uhrmann smoked his cigarette, "That idiot was too eager and was instantly killed by a bunch of minions at the beginning."
Alfonso shook his head.
Uhrmann observed him up and down, looking at his darker blade.
"Looks like you did quite well for yourself out there Ramirez..." Commented Uhrmann after a moment of silence.
Alfonso simply shrugged, "I'm not an idiot."
Sebastian stared at him with envy, his own clothes were partly ripped apart and he had many injuries after the fight while Alfonso looked only dirty and a bit exhausted...
Uhrmann nodded, "Go and devour the corpses, don't forget to harvest their hearts. You can sell them at the A.S.U Branch in Düsseldorf for money."
