Chapter 1 - He's smart

''Come'' Michaella said and went upstairs. Avery had to clean up the floor she had left before lunch. She followed her only friend in this mansion to the last floor. After cleaning the floor she had gone to the kitchen. Her last chore was to make the kitchen shine, as Cassandra said. A few minutes later she was done. Avery swiped her forehead tiredly. It's been a busy day and she wanted to sleep. After doing a quick check to the kitchen she turned off the lights and walked out, heading to her room. Cassandra was in the living room and as she saw Avery she approached her, enveloping her in a hug.

''Hi, sweetie.'' She said smiling. Avery smiled and hug her back.

''I'm finally done!'' Cassandra was an affectionate woman who liked to hug everyone. Avery was very fond of her. She was like a mother figure. Avery's parents died when she was 15 years old. She didn't have anyone else except her brother. Oh, and how she misses her brother.

Her legs felt heavy as she walked up the stairs. She was exhausted. As she was liking to her room she saw the door next to hers was slightly ajar. She looked around if anyone was nearby and she peeked inside the room. She didn't saw anyone. She pushed the door and went inside the room to turn off the lights and go back to her room. She was so engrossed in looking around that she didn't hear Vincent coming. This was his room but Avery didn't know that.

''Weren't you told not to come in here?'' A hard deep voice said behind her. Avery was startled and her heart started beating faster. She knew that voice. Now she understood, this was Vincent's room and her's was next door. Avery turned around and took one step back in fear. She was shaking from head to toe.

''Little lamb, you're shaking. Perhaps you're afraid of me? '' He said smirking. Vincent knew that he was intimidating, but apparently, this girl liked to play games. In her own way, she's challenging him, even though she may not do it intentionally. Avery tried to look everywhere else except him. But she couldn't do it. Her eyes swept over him and stop at his hard muscular chest. He was wearing a black linen shirt and black pants. Her throat was heavy and dry. She sucked in a deep breath and forced her eyes to look away from him.

Vincent closed the distance between them and caught her right wrist in his huge hand.

''So you indeed are scared of me.'' He hummed and brought her close to him. Their chests almost touching. With his other hand, he traced her shoulders and face, leaving tingles behind. Avery let out a shaky breath. This mas knew what to do. With a little touch, she was mesmerized by him.

''You have very smooth skin.'' He said and grinned.''Look at me.'' He said to her. Avery knew that she had to obey him. He was a very dangerous man she couldn't resist him. Vincent looked in her eyes. He couldn't take his eyes away from her. This girl was doing something to him and he didn't like it. She was like a magnet. And he liked being in control. Abruptly he took a step back and released her.

''Get out.'' He said and walked to his bed. Avery didn't think twice and run outside the bedroom and towards her's. She was feeling all kinds of emotions. Desire. Lust. Excitement. Fear. Anticipation. Vincent was very experienced and knew how to handle a woman. But she wasn't going to let him. Avery knew she had to avoid him at all costs. He was doing something to her that she hadn't felt before. With that thought, she went to sleep. She needed to put her plans in motion. Nothing could stop her from escaping. Not even this sexy, dangerous man.

The next day Avery was reluctant to wake up. She wanted to be deep under her soft covers and sleep. But she had chores to do and a plan to execute. She felt her bed move. She turned her head and saw Vincent sitting on her bed and looking at her smirking. Her eyes widened and Avery let out a scream. She tried to scramble off the bed but she fell hard on the floor. She stared at him with wide eyes. What did he want now?

''Good morning. '' He said seriously. ''Get dressed, you're coming with me.'' Avery didn't ponder much and got up. She waited for him to leave but he didn't move.

''You need to leave so I can get dressed.'' Vincent laughed but he didn't make a move to leave. Avery took her clothes and went to the bathroom. She wasn't going to undress in front of him. When she was ready she went back to her room. Vincent was where she left him. He hadn't moved. He was busy looking at his phone so Avery took the opportunity to examine him. He was dressed in a suit today.

''Are you done checking me out?'' He said smirking. Avery snap her eyes to his and blushed.

''Let's go I have business to do.'' He began to leave and she followed him quietly. They exited the mansion and Vincent enter a black sports car. Avery stood there not knowing what to do. Vincent rolled down the window and motion her forward.

''Get in the car.'' He ordered her. She was sick of him ordering her around. But she could not object to him. She had to follow his orders if she wanted to survive. As she understands he was taking her somewhere, this was her opportunity to escape. She didn't see any of his guards in the car. They were alone. Vincent notice the glint in her eyes and knew what she was thinking.

''Don't bother escaping. My men are following us with a car.'' He announces to her and she nods.
