"Noah, hurry upppp!" Francesca called, standing at the bottom of the steps. They had all gathered at Noah's for the party, each in a costume of course. Noah on the other hand was in a panic because he didn't know exactly how to dress for this type of event. "I swear if you don't h-" Francesca spoke again before Noah came out of the room, leaving everyone in shock. He hadn't dressed nice since.. well since Tye left. He wore sweaters and jeans most of the time, comfy was his casual. That wasn't a bad thing, but he used to dress so happy. Skirts, overalls, flowers, everything cheery. His friends missed that, they wanted him to go back to being his old self, but they knew that wouldn't ever be a reality.
He came down the stairs, embarrassed as everyone stared at him. He was dressed up as a prince, though the pants were now a skirt, and the big, long sleeve shirt, was now showing his shoulders, and the collar was lined with frill. He had a cute crown on top of his head. "I'm sorry, I was finishing my costume!" He spoke quickly, smiling at the others. Francesca dressed as a cheetah, Meghan was a ghost, Ryleigh and Jamie were a devil and an angel. They all looked amazing, honestly. Fashion in that group was always on point due to Francesca. She learned a lot from her parents, they taught her everything she needed to know. The costumes were provided by them too, almost all of their clothes were provided by Francescas parents. They used to be from Tye's too, until he left. Francesca and Tye's parents work together, hence the original reason he was pushed into that friend group.
"It's fine, Noah." Meghan smiled, pulling him into a hug, which he returned. "I'm proud of you for getting out." She added. He simply nodded. "Oh, and I made us all masks! On the invitation it says it's a masquerade party!" He laughed slightly as he handed them all beautiful masks to put on, which they did as they thanked the boy. They quickly got their pictures taken by Noah's parents, filling up all of their phones with silly photos.
Noah sighed before looking at them. "You guys ready?" He asked, hesitant. They all nodded in an excited agreement and headed out to the van they made together before Tye had left the friend group. They found it, Jamie's dad fixed it up, and after decorating it with all of their wildest dreams, they kept it until they could use it. They made sure to keep it clean and well, and now use it to go anywhere, so they wouldn't ever have to take two cars. The interior was replaced with comfy couches, and the drivers seat was the only actual seat in the entire van.
Francesca took the wheel as everyone else sat down in the back, all looking excited, besides Noah for obvious reasons. Music began to play as the dim lighting turned on in the back. Since they didn't have to pay for the truck, most of their car money went towards adding not needed, and stupid items to the car. The lighting could change colors, they had curtains for the windows, carpeted flooring, a mini fridge, trash bin, they truly went crazy with the decorating. It did look nice though, and they took wonderful care of it. The music was quiet enough to hear someone talking, but everyone besides Noah was rambling and joking, creating a fuzzy brain for Noah. "What if he's there..?" He asked softly, snuggling up to Meghan with sad eyes, which were crystal clear through the mask. "Then just ignore him, and if it gets too bad we can leave, go to the lake early." She added. After the party, they planned to go head out to Francescas parents lake house for the weekend. Noah nodded and hung his face in his hands. This was going to be a long night..
Once they arrived, everyone got out to a large house with tons of decorations and lights, loud music blasting out of it, and people all over the outside and inside, or at least what they saw from the windows, that only made Noah more nervous. He was popular, of COURSE he was going to be at this party, especially if kids like Noah's friends were allowed in. He began to head inside with the others. "You guys promise not to leave my side, not once?" He asked with a small voice crack which made him bite down on his lip and sigh. "Of course we will. Well the two lovebirds over there might end up too drunk to function or up spilling their feelings in a room, but me and Meghan are here." Francesca smiled, taking his hand and leading him into the house, which once again had more Halloween directions on every wall, ceiling, and piece of furniture in sight.
Everything was fine, there was no sight of Tye or his gang of friends, they stuck together, did some karaoke, drank, and just enjoyed themselves. But as everyone should know, all good times must come to an end. About an hour or two into the night, Ryleigh and Jamie were up in a room, as expected, Francesca was playing some drinking game with a few kids, and Meghan was in one of the many bathrooms, puking. Though Noah was nervous, he was drunk, so he just stumbled up into a bedroom and sat down on the bed, trying to stay calm. He tried to focus on his phone, finding something to occupy his time. His head was loud, but the room was rather quiet due to the thick, closed door. He laid down, scrolling through some social media, posts about the party were all over the place. He was surprised the cops hadn't came and shut the party down yet, it was loud and disrupting. Then again it was Halloween, and they were handing out candy too, so it didn't seem like they could harm anyone, as almost no one on the block was home. He was finally calm and at piece, almost fallen asleep on the bed when there was a small knock at the door..
