Part 2 Chapter 1
pot smokers and mickey
Sabrina Chase POV
Today is finally the day. Akiyah is getting married and we're all pretty anxious. Including Hendrik. Akiyah has always loved the colour lilac, soft and yet strong and feminine. It describes her really.
"You look beautiful Akiyah." Her mother has been gushing over the decor and her dress to the point that Amanda and I have been rolling our eyes nonstop. I swear they're going to be stuck up there.
The news of Akiyah being found was shocking for the rest of the community. Some disagreed that she should go on with the wedding and the rest were silently agreeing. They didn't want to seem like outcasts.
"Thank you, mother. Is dad here yet?" Her father was one of the many that openly disagreed about her getting married to her kidnapper. I guess he didn't want his daughter to marry a criminal.
We've all accepted that Jasper is in the mafia and we'll be protected but I guess Mr. Blanc can't accept. Stubborn man.
"He will walk you down the aisle but I don't know if he'll stay." I get why he wouldn't stay. I mean it is a bit absurd but you can really see the love when Jasper looks at Akiyah. I wonder if Hendrik looks at me that way.
"Oh. I'm happy that he'll walk me down the aisle." Clearly, her facial expression didn't convey the words she just said but there's nothing we could do. The man won't listen to anyone.
"Dear, you know he doesn't agree with your decision but be happy he's still walking you down the aisle." Mrs. Blanc is a typical black church-going woman. She doesn't see the faults and the errors in everything, she would rather offer you the positive side of it all.
There are very few black families in Farloore but they have contributed so much to the community. I would of course know because, at every fundraiser that is held, it's mandatory for me to show my face there. Most of the fundraisers are held by the families; they're full of life.
"Let's get this over and done with." Akiyah sounded really dejected but as her bridesmaid, it's my duty to make her day beautiful. With that thought, I rush out to find Hendrik standing with the rest of the men.
"Hendrik, I need your help." Still taken back by his new look. Blonde hair sleek back with brown tips (don't know what's that all about), his lips soft and pink as ever. So kissable. His eyes– his beautiful brown eyes– sparkle as he looks my way.
"Don't you know it's a curse to see you before the wedding?"
"Not my wedding silly." Hendrik has been more lively since we came back from our little vacation. He's been more romantic. More loving. More caring than ever before.
"What do you need, love?" See, caring. How am I so lucky?
"Akiyah doesn't seem happy with her dad not staying. Why not make her wedding even more extravagant." He stood there, silent. He knows how much I hate waiting for things.
"What did you have in mind?" Finally, he answers.
"Follow me."

"Do you, Akiyah Rose Blanc, take, Jasper Marcos LeMont, as your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do." Jasper's eyes are filled with tears. Sigh.
"And do you, Jasper Marcos LeMont, take, Akiyah Rose Blanc, as your lawfully wedded wife?"
"I do." The two love birds couldn't stop looking at each other. I'm close to barfing. I'm not a lovesick puppy but I can't handle the lovey-dovey eyes.
"With the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the wife." Jasper didn't waste time, gently pulling her into a passionate– very disturbing to young eyes– kiss.
Walking down the white carpeted aisle, cheers heard from both sides of the church, I can say that my dear friend is happy. She's gotten her happy ending. I wonder if I'll get mine.

Movies have always portrayed someone sitting on the rooftop, all alone with a flute of champagne, as being angry or plain sad. Me? I'm happy actually but I do feel like there's a void.
There's a void inside of me...
I find myself chuckling at my words. The sun slowly setting and I wouldn't wish to be anywhere else than here.
"Is there room for one more?" Looking back, I first see the princess white dress then look up to see her honey brown skin. The bride. Akiyah.
"What are you doing here? It's your wedding?"
"They can miss me, I don't really care."
"What are you doing?" I pass the flute to her and she bumps hers against mine. We sit in silence for a while until I hear a lighter being lit. I look beside me and see Akiyah blowing O's. O shaped smoke.
"Since when do you smoke?"
"Since life decided to bring me joy. It's weed, you want some?" I've never had weed and I've heard so many things about it.
"Sure." She instructs me on how to smoke it, keep it in, and then blow it out. Obviously, as a first-timer, I cough. I got a fair warning for that.
"And here I thought you were experienced!" Akiyah cheers, eyes red and a lopsided smile lighting her face up.
"Pull one more time and this time, keep it in longer." I do that until I start coughing and I won't lie, this is the best thing I've had.
"How do you feel?" She giggles and rests her head on my shoulder.
"I feel light. Like I'm on cloud nine." She nods her head and starts singing.
"Never knew you had a good voice."
"There's a lot you don't know about me."

It's a struggle getting down these stairs. We've been sitting here, laughing our asses off. The curious stares we get from bystanders cracks us up even more.
"Hey, I think I see Mickey. He looks red though." Akiyah looks in the direction I'm pointing to and starts giggling going into a full blown laugh.
"Akiyah and Sabrina come with me. Now!" I giggle and hold onto Mickey's hand, bringing Akiyah up with me.
"So who's going to be your Minnie? Me or Akiyah?" Mickey turns his head so quickly that I wouldn't be surprised if he got a whiplash.
"What's wrong with you two? We've been looking for you everywhere."
"Oh hush Mickey, it's only a little wedding. Where's Goofy?" That cracks me up. We roll down onto the floor, still holding onto each other, giggling and snorting like little kids.
"Jasper!" Mickey shouts and Donald Duck walks in.
"Akiyah! Where have you been?"
"Akiyah," I whisper close to her ear, "Do you see Donald too?"
"I thought I was the only one!" We stare at each other and start snorting again.
"Are they drunk or high?" Mickey asks Donald.
"Only one thing could make them see things and they most definitely high." We try to stand up but I guess our legs went jello.
"Take them back into one of the rooms, I'll ask the guests to leave."
"No!" We both shout and the two step back.
"This is my wedding and I don't want them to leave." Akiyah moves towards Donald and I can't help but laugh at her princess dress. She looks like Daphne.
"Baby, you're not fit to go in there..."
"I am fit. You made me train with you and I'm ripped, baby. Ripped." She giggles and lands in his arms.
"Besides that, you're not okay to go like this."
"Mmh, whatever. Minnie, you coming?"
"Of course, Daphne!" I skip towards her and we link our arms together. "Let's go have some cake."
We enter the ballroom and all I'm seeing are little lights and the smell of food excites my hungry stomach.
"Food." I agree and we skip towards the table.
"Have everything and Donald will pay." We feast on the sweet desserts and the savory buns. I can't help but laugh at how we're sitting. On the floor. With white clothes.
"This is the best wedding Akiyah."
"And you're the best friend anyone could ask for."
"Cheers to that!" The crowd of people on the dance floor starts cheering and clapping.
"Time to dance."
"Cronya polla my friend."
And we spent that night dancing and singing. We were surely happy but we were going to be in for a suprise.

I know I've been gone, unintentionally abandoned this book and left you guys high and dry but I'm back. Hopefully for good. I've been trying to start up a thrift store and it's taken up half my time.
But excuses aside, this is my dream wedding :) joking but it is a lovely idea. Getting high at your own wedding? Don't smoke kids! It's bad for you!
I don't smoke ;)
Hope you enjoyed this chapter and I love you loads.
