Akiyah Blanc-LeMont POV

Jasper and I have been enjoying each other's company, doing everything together and living in peace. Although people around me seem glum, despite my many attempts of trying to cheer them up. We finally went on our honeymoon, explored Greece and its famous landmarks and the history of the Parthenon Temple was worth the wait.

I will admit, getting married young and to your previous kidnapper is a bit weird, but each day I spend with Jasper, I discover new things about him and his living environment. He's not in the mafia by choice but because his father was the greatest don ever known to exist; it was vital for him to continue on with the legacy and I'm pretty sure our son will have to do the same in the future. Voluntarily or involuntarily, he will be the next don.

Sabrina has been nothing but a darling, trying to support us all but she needs the support. Hendrik finally woke up, after six anxious months, he woke up and Sabrina went MIA. She's with her lover, I understand. Toby and Amanda finally started dating but they keep it on the down-low; secret lovers always excite me with their drama. Not a lot has happened besides the fact that everyone at school either keeps a distance from me or judges me from afar.

All because I married my kidnapper.

I sound like a character in a cliche movie but this is my life now.

"Akiyah, if you don't mind, go see Sabrina. She needs some company." My mother decided to stay with Jasper and I, she was worried about her 'little' baby girl.

"Mmh, I'll go later." I couldn't fathom what Sabrina was going through. I know Jasper goes on dangerous missions and each time he goes, he tells me not to stress.

As if that will ever happen.

I was dusting around- I'm not a fan of dust- and my phone suddenly buzzed to life, vibrating the coffee table. Sabrina.

"Hello," I answered tentatively. Anything is possible.

"He's up!" She exclaimed into my ear, making me move the tiny black phone away from my ear.

She hangs up and I'm left dumbfounded. What?

°•°•°

Amanda, Toby, and Donna were already there when I arrived. All I could decipher from their faces was joy, fear, and happiness.

"Did you get a chance to see him?" They all shake their head.

"Sabrina has been in there for a while and we're patiently waiting to hear from her." Amanda had grown from the fragile, reserved girl she once was. She's beaming and glowing and I'm happy for her.

I was just about to reply when we saw Sabrina walk out of the room. Her face was sullen; not what we were expecting. We dash towards her and she falls into my arms, sobbing and sniffling. I look at the rest of the group and they are confused by her sobbing. We move to the hospital chairs, Donna rushing to get water for Sabrina.

"Sabrina, what's wrong?" She sobs louder as a reply and we panic. Toby rushes to Hendrik's room, trying to figure out what's wrong.

"He doesn't remember," Sabrina mumbles softly, repeating it like a mantra. Amanda widens her eyes in what I assume is a realization of something. I poke her arm, curious as to what Sabrina is talking about.

"He lost his memories." Donna arrives then and the only thing that breaks me out of my thoughts is the cup of water she drops. Tears well up, I rush out of the hospital.

He doesn't remember us.

The expected rain came that evening, turning the sky dark. We stayed at the hospital until visiting hours were over. Feeling dull and feeling lost, we looked like a bunch of depressed kids. Hendrik remembers everyone except for Sabrina.

"See you guys later." Donna rushed to her car, visibly shaking. This is was an unexpected turn and we were all clearly in shock. Amanda and Toby left a while ago, both distressed and worried. I decided to stay with Sabrina. She was still shaking and mumbling to herself. Her reaction is unusual but I'll never know what happened in that room and we'll just have to wait.

"We should go. You'll catch a cold." She jerked away when I tried to bring her to her feet. I tried the second time but she just moaned as if she was in pain. "Sabrina, come on." She shook her head and at that point, I wasn't sure what I should do with her.

"Should I call your parents?" She shook her head. A definite no. I sighed, worried that she might stay in this condition. Searching for my phone, Jasper's car pulls over in front of me.

I was just about to call him.

"I thought you might need help or a ride. Hop in." I nodded, tried to get Sabrina up and she cooperated with me. We both got into the SUV, shivering from the blistering cold. "Turn up the heat." He nodded and we were off. It was a late afternoon and clouds were visibly heavy. It's been a long day.

We decided it was best for Sabrina to stay with her parents. They've been worried sick and this is the first time seeing her after two weeks.

"Sabrina? Darling is that you?" Her mother stood ready to take her daughter in, eyes filled with tears and lack of sleep was evident on her body and face. "Sabrina, how could you leave us like that?" Her mother hugged her tightly and we left shortly. This was something they should deal with, on their own. Without interference.
