Amanda Johnson POV

We all went one at a time. Donna was worse after seeing Sabrina, bawling her eyes. Akiyah could barely hold in her tears but she was trying to be strong. We all were.

"Should I go next?" Toby, a gentleman, sat beside me with his infamous red flannel shirt. I nodded solemnly and he dashed out of the waiting room. I could only understand so little as to why he'd leave. This room smells too sterile.

"Amanda?" Mrs Chase sat beside me, looking prim and proper with her white gloves, pearly teeth and a diamond ring protruding out. The Chase's have always had a taste in fashion or a taste with materialistic things. The power couple of the west, conquering the west one land at a time.

"Mrs Chase?" Her eyes were filled with tears– crocodile tears– hands lightly shaking. "I want you to take care of my baby girl." She stood up, not turning back to see if I understood what she meant. Dressed in a rose gold dress, her silhouette disappears into the dark of the night.

How mysterious is she?

Toby came back after a while, biting his bottom lip and fiddling with his fingers. Standing up to give him a source of affection; a warm hug.

He tumbles into my arms and silently sobs. Toby wasn't close to Sabrina but he cared about her nonetheless. "I should've checked up on her. Just to show support or anything." He cries harshly and hiccups here and there. All I could do to help is show him that I'm here.

"Don't worry Toby, she knows you care and that's all that matters." He nods and steps back, recollecting himself.

"You should go see her." I nod and make sure his seated, tissue in hand and Akiyah sitting beside him.

The room is dim and you could hardly see Sabrina. The heart monitor is my only source of knowing she's breathing and she's alright.

"Sabrina?" She mumbles out a reply and I walk towards her. Her face has scars and scratches, her right leg elevated in the air and her arm secured in a

cast. She looks horrible.

"Amanda?" I nod and hold onto her free hand. She attempts to smile but she's weak at this point. She tries to get in a proper position but I stop her, shaking my head in disagreement. "Don't bother, we're both stubborn and you'll hurt yourself if you try." She chuckles because she knows it's true. We're both stubborn.

"Where's Hendrik?" I didn't want to be the one to tell her but it seems like the others had dodged the question. "His in the next room. He got hit pretty bad and he in a coma." The heart monitor beeps at an accelerating speed. I look towards her and see she's palpitating, sweat slowly forming on her forehead.

"Calm down Sabrina, his going to be fine." She rips the morphine drip, moves closer to the edge and holds onto the side table. I don't stop her because she's too weak to walk but I do help her stand. "Take me to him."

"I'm afraid I can't do that Sabrina." She shakes her, perhaps chasing the sleep away, and grips onto my forearm. "P-please." She desperately looks towards me, begging me to help her.

I nod and I tell her to sit still. I call in Toby and he immediately disagrees with the plan.

"What if she faints on the way?" I look towards and see her hunching over, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Wouldn't you want to see the person you love, even if it means hurting yourself?" He looks at me for a long time and looks up at Sabrina.

"Fine."

It was a struggle to get her to the room, nurses everywhere and the lights blinding her eyes. "We're almost there Sabrina." She clutches onto my shoulder and gives me a weak, appreciative smile.

"No need to thank us. We understand." I look up to see Toby looking forward, his ears turning slightly red.

"We're here." We open the door, enter the dim room and lock the door behind us. Weird that there are locks here. Toby settles Sabrina next to Hendrik. She clutches onto his hand, staring intently at his features. An assumption that I'm making.

"Hendrik...come back to me, please. We still have to graduate and become what we want to be. Help Donna with her school and finally get married. Like we planned." Toby and I stare at each other and sit in the corner, not paying attention to them.

She whispers to him the entire time, telling him that she misses him. Making up funny stories.

"It's time to go Sabrina." She looks up and nods meekly, standing on her tippy toes. She kisses him lightly on the forehead and looks up towards us. "We can go now." We help her move back to her room, slowly, and she tiredly lays in her bed.

"Do you think he will wake up?"

Neither Toby nor I had an answer for that. We shrugged and answered with an, "We don't know but we hope he does."

She didn't seem satisfied with that answer but she huffed and looked the other way.

The afternoon rolled in slowly– at an agonizing pace–setting the whole hospital in an orange-hued building. None of us had left but we were all extremely tired. Akiyah had changed out of her wedding dress and settled for comfortable clothes.

"Anybody wants tea? Coffee?" Jasper (still not keen on being acquainted with him) stood tall next to all of us. I asked for tea and others asked for their desired beverage.

He left swiftly and we were once again enveloped with the sound of machines, nurses rushing around and doctors demanding tools. The hospital had been busy the whole day and the rush was getting to me.

"I'm going to step out for a bit. Toby, could you hold on to my drink?" He nodded and I walked slowly, trying to bring some sense into this busy hospital. I saw a few parents, relatives crying or bawling their eyes out. I just hope some of those tears are happy tears.

I stood for a good minute until I felt a presence behind me.

"I get that you don't like me." Of course, it had to be him. I discreetly rolled my eyes and glanced behind me. "Well done, would you like a sticker for getting that right?" He lowly chuckled and stood beside me.

"Why don't you like me?" I turned to face him and he did the same.

"I have my reasons." He quirked his eyebrow and persuaded me to continue. So I did just that, spilling everything. How he kidnapped Akiyah and sprang the wedding on us, suddenly.

"I didn't mean for it to turn out like this." I gave him a pointed look and he smirked. If I could slap that smirk off of his face. "Fine, I may have done drastic changes but that was really not intentional."

"Fine, if you say so." We stood there for a minute, no words exchanged.
