"Greetings to General Ross." Rem bowed then kneeled on her right knee.
Her left and right hands were placed on her left knee while her head was down as she stared at the ground.
"As expected of Miss Rem. You already know the manners we use in this military." General Ross smiled.
"There's no need for someone as strong as you to be that polite towards me. Miss Rem, please get up." She added.
'I can't simply call her something else. She's the General, after all. I want to ask her why she was in Leroy City instead of being in the military, but whatever. I shouldn't cross the line or be nosey.'
Rem got up and stood her on two feet. Her posture was straighter than her usual posture.
"Even if I was stronger than you, you're still the General. I apologize, but I can't disrespect you, General Ross." Rem spoke.
"I understand. You might be wondering why I called you here. Well, do you remember the deal we made yesterday?" General Ross asked.
She stared at Rem who was in front of her desk with her piercing eyes.
General Ross went through a lot of trouble to get a high position for Rem in the military.
"Yes, I remember it clearly. I don't want any positions. I thought about it thoroughly last night and I've decided to remain as a soldier." Rem said aloud.
She knew fairly well that opposing the General will bring her consequences.
"Oh? Tell me why you want to stay as a soldier." General Ross demanded.
'I should be careful with my choice of words...'
"The main reason is that I didn't want to gain a position like that. I believe nobody but you had seen what I did that day. If I suddenly got a high position in the military, there are definitely going to be those who oppose me. I would like to earn the position myself and show everyone that I'm capable and trustworthy." Rem explained.
"Haha, yes. I understand. I called you here to speak about the deal. It seems that it has been taken care of already. I look forward to seeing your progress. You may leave." General Ross exclaimed.
'Phew...! At least that's over.'
"Thank you, General Ross." Rem saluted then left the large tent.
After exiting the tent, Rem sighed a sigh of relief. She walked towards tent number 8.
'I need to be prepared to fight at any time. I'm honestly more worried about Samael. His level isn't high and he's known as the cursed hero. I helped him get into the military because he didn't seem to fit in with society. Maybe a duel will make me see his potentials.' Rem thought as she opened the system's map.
'There are 30 tents, 10 stables, a warehouse, and one weaponry.' Rem counted.
'The area near tent 8 is large enough. Is that where others train...? I hope nobody's there...'
Rem soon arrived at tent number 8. When she entered the tent, she noticed that Samael wasn't inside.
"Where is he?" Rem questioned the others who're in the tent.
Nobody spoke. They all ignored Rem except for one person.
"A-A group of knights took him away...! I-I don't know where though..." The short person claimed.
He was trembling, probably due to fear.
"I see..." Rem growled and clenched her fists.
'They're so dead...!'
{You shouldn't kill anyone in the military if you want to have a good reputation.}
'We'll see what would happen.'
Rem opened the map once again and walked towards where Samael was. As expected, there were many other dots surrounding Samael's dot. At least that's what it shows on the system's map.
'Hah...' Rem exited the tent in a rush.
In less than a minute, Rem arrived at the scene. She could see multiple people surrounding Samael. They were kicking Samael, who was covering his head. He was bleeding and had many bruises on him. Two guys were at the side, enjoying the show. In total, there were seven guys at the scene, excluding Samael and Rem.
"I left for a while and this is what happened?" Rem looked at everyone with annoyance.
The kicking stopped and they all turned to look at Rem.
"Hahaha!!! What's a little girl like you doing here?" One of the guys who's watching the show asked with a smug face on.
'Is he the leader?' Rem wondered.
"Sir, she's the other one!!!" The knight Rem and Samael called a 'Ground Kisser' shouted.
'It looks like the Ground Kisser has come to get his revenge. Heh, he has made a grave mistake!' Rem glared at the Ground Kisser who was smirking at Rem.
"She's looking for trouble, isn't she? Normally, newbies would respect their seniors and those who're of higher rank than them. Let's teach her a lesson. What do you say, boys?"
"Yeah!!!!!" They all yelled at the same time.
"Come at me all at once with everything you guys got." Rem smiled.
She didn't bother to inspect the stats of trash like them.
"Don't regret it! Everyone, charge!!!" The leader said loudly, pointing at Rem.
He and the Ground Kisser didn't move an inch since they didn't expect Rem to defeat five knights.
'I'll punch those two motherf*cker's faces so hard that they'll look like pigs.' Rem smiled evilly as the five knights charged at Rem without any weapons.
Rem teleported behind one of the knights, punching him in the guts. She didn't use all her strength, but the guy she punched still smashed into a tree.
'Ah...'
「One-shot!!! As expected of Master!」
Seeing this horrific sight, the other knights backed off. They were reluctant to attack Rem.
"What are you waiting for? Come." Rem said confidently.
(A/N: What you waiting for? (Somi's song, 'What You Waiting For' reference! Get it...?))
She successfully pissed off the other knights. They surrounded Rem, attacking her from all sides. However, Rem blocked every single one of their attacks. This time, she made sure to give them a few punches before knocking them out.
The Ground Kisser watched Rem in fear.
"Tch. They're useless!" The leader snarled.
"I'll take this matter into my own hands." He added as walked towards Rem while cracking his knuckles.
The leader was a good nine or so inches taller than Rem. He took his sword out of the scabbard and pointed it at Rem.
"I didn't want to get any scratches on a girl's face, but I guess it can't be helped.' The leader sneered.
"With or without a weapon, I'll be beating you until your face looks like a pig's today." Rem replied, hand gesturing him to come at her.
Viens could be seen on the leader's head. He swung his sword at Rem without any hesitation.
'His swordsmanship is pretty good.'
{Of course, it is. If it isn't he wouldn't have become a knight.}
'Some people get their positions by buying them or because of their family background, you know what I mean?'
Rem quickly punched the leader's face with just the right amount of force to make it red. She continued to dodge and punch his face until the leader backed away in a daze.
'He's good, but not even close to good enough to beat me.'
Rem saw the unconscious Samael on the ground. She smiled at the leader, giving him the chills.
"W-Wait, let me ex—"
Rem cut the leader off by kicking him in his groin.
(A/N: Just imagine his thing getting cracked like a pair of eggs! :))
"ARGAHHHHHHH!!!!!!" The leader screamed in pain.
He fell to the ground while holding his groin. He looked like he was in desperate need of help, but Rem ignored his screaming and constantly punched his face until it was extremely swollen. She didn't stop even after he passed out.
"It's your turn, Ground Kisser." Rem faced Ground Kisser and did the same thing she did to the leader.
...
After taking care of the trash, Rem left them there and carried Samael to tent number 8 to rest. She used her Healing skill to heal Samael then placed him on the bottom bed of the bunk bed.
Everyone inside the same tent was shocked to see Rem unscathed. They didn't ask anything because of Rem's menacing aura that's saying, 'don't bother me or else you're doomed.'
'I should've put a protective barrier around Samael earlier.' Rem sighed.
She created a barrier around Samael and left the tent.
'I can't do the duel with Samael today... It can't be helped. I'll just train—'
"WE'RE BEING AMBUSHED! PREPARE TO FIGHT!!!" A familiar voice yelled.
'Isn't that General Ross's voice?'
Rem immediately left the tent. She opened the system's map for the third time today inside the military base. Then, she ran towards the enemies as fast as she could.
