'My head... Urgh, why is it so bright?' Rem opened her eyes, hearing a familiar voice inside her head.
{You Have Been Reincarnated Successfully. Due To All The Errors And Viruses, The System Has Changed To The Very First Version.}
'What system? First version? What in the world is that...? Wait... I'm alive??? I thought I died from that b*stard of a god. Dammit...! Just thinking about him makes me sick!' Rem shook her head in disgust.
'Weird... I only remember the day I woke up from my coma, the monsters that appeared, and the day I defeated the Demon King. For some reason, I can't remember anything else. What's going on???' Rem tried to remember, but every time she did, her head began to hurt.
After a moment, Rem decided to not think about remembering for now.
'These headaches are horrible! Is it because of all the errors and viruses that caused me to be unable to remember?' Rem wondered.
{The User May Remember Clearly About Some Days In Your Past Life. Some Of Your Knowledge Still Remains, But Everything Else Is Locked.}
'I see... Is that why I can only remember these three days? Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure I remember every monster I fought. It said past life. I can feel my heart beating, so I'm not dead. Did I get reborn?'
Without moving, Rem began to look around her surroundings.
'What the— Where am I??? How did I even get here??! Also, why's everything so... Large...?'
Rem was in a grassy, green terrain. There were many hills and a few trees. This scenery seemed peaceful. However, beyond the beautiful, grassy terrain was a dark, creepy-looking forest. Rem could see the grey-colored grass surrounding the forest.
The forest was emitting a dangerous aura. It gave Rem the chills.
'You know what... I'm not getting anywhere close to that forest.' Rem concluded.
Rem could hear birds chirping. When she looked up, she realized that the sky was still blue, but there were two suns.
'This is not Earth... If I'm not on Earth, then where am I...? Am I seeing things?' Rem tried to rub her eyes.
*Poof.
'Huh???' Instead of her having her right hand on her face, a paw smacked her face.
'HUH??? Paws? What??!' Rem looked at her "hands", trying to comprehend what was going on.
Rem was currently on a small hill. Below the hill, Rem spotted a clear, light blue lake. Rem ignored the magical-looking lake and slapped herself, HARD, with her right paw to make sure she wasn't dreaming.
'Ouch, that hurts... I'm not dreaming?'
Trying not to panic, Rem calmed herself and walked towards the pond on her two hind legs.
'Walking on two legs isn't going to work, is it? I can't believe there's a day I would have to learn how to walk on all fours.' Rem sighed, falling a few times like a kid who's learning how to walk.
After a few minutes, she finally reached the lake.
'Walking on all fours sure is harder than it looks.' Rem thought, looking at her reflection in the lake.
She saw a creature with soft-looking, snowy white fur with dark, black stripes covering her back, legs, and face. These stripes made Rem look sort of like a tiger. She has a pair of piercing red eyes that looked like flames. Her eyes reminded her of the eyes of a cat. Only this time, it's red instead of yellow. Her two wolf-like ears twitched as she found it weird, being able to move her fluffy-looking foxtail. Rem estimated that she was about the size of an adult cat.
'This is... Me...? I look like a cat, tiger, wolf, and fox. Maybe I'm a mix of all of them? Just what am I? I've never seen a creature like this before...! How am I supposed to survive in this small body??!'
'I have so many questions... I don't think I'll get the answer to my questions anytime soon. First, I'll have to find a way to get stronger and survive. I don't know if this world has any monsters, but let's just conclude that there are monsters. I can't be too safe, can I? The voice I heard... Who are you?' Rem asked in her mind.
{My name is 001. I'm not a human. I'm a system.}
'Hm... I don't see the menu button. How do I open my status?'
Rem tried imagining the screen she saw in her past life. Just like she imagined it, a blue screen did appear in front of her.
