Min Jun pulled his head out of the gutter when he was assisting Young Jae with his robe. Even though his head visited gutter a lot from yesterday morning, he knew he shouldn't have those thoughts while helping someone.
His dad always told them 'even if you can't help others in need, never harm them more and don't take advantage of them.'
Next to BB's words, it was always his dad's words and wisdom that has helped him so far. Not that he would ever let his dad know about his how valuable he hold his words as.
Young Jae was cautiously opening his mouth for brushing the teeth. The action reminded him of the wounded puppy being wary of whoever was approaching but still hoping for some help.
Min Jun did not even realise the softening gaze on his face. He looked at Young Jae with a soft smile.
'Maybe I should have paid attention to Chin Mae Hyung when he was discussing with BB about what happened to his newly met cousin. I am pretty sure it was bad. But I really admire you for accepting others even after everything and did not turn cynical and bitter.' Min thought while controlling his urge to run the fingers through Young Jae's soft hair.
Min Jun didn't realise that Young Jae let the guard down only to his cousin and people his cousin trusted. Young Jae no more believed in his ability to judge people's character.
Min Jun tenderly helped Young Jae brush his teeth, but for the first time got startled by his own ringtone.
Young Jae's startle movement was comical that he let out a soft chuckle. He pats Young Jae's shoulder in an attempt to calm him down.
"I am sorry!" Min Jun said hastily as he pulled his phone out.
He froze for a minute when he saw the name. It has been a couple of weeks since they spoke. Even though there was an urge to pick the call and make sure everything was alright, Min Jun knew his focus should be on Young Jae at the moment. With a hope that nothing was an emergency, he turned on the silent mode.
While helping Young Jae, Min Jun's mind wandered off to a petite-sweet boy he knew for months now.
The timid guy who hid his pain under the cheerful smile and wore flamboyant clothes hid his wound.
If Min Jun had the ability to go back in time and change everything and anything, he would choose to go on the day he decided to view casual sex relationship as nothing harmful. In that way, he would never be friends with benefits with his good friend. And he wouldn't have hurt an innocent soul with his stupid confidence. Their friendship would not be at a stake because his good-dainty-little friend fell in love with him.
'Isn't it midnight there? What could have happened? Is everything okay? Why is he calling now? Shouldn't he be in bed already? He always falls sick if he stays late. Was there an emergency?' the thousand unexplainable worries raced Min Jun's head.
Even though Min Jun's was worried about Henry, he did not let his attention deviate way much more away from Young Jae.
Once they were done with getting Young Jae to freshen up for the day, Min Jun carefully took him back to bed. Once he settled Young Jae, he called the nurse to help with the towel bath.
"Hyung, let the nurse help you with the towel bath. I have to call back to someone. Don't worry. I will be near only." Min Jun's distraught voice made Young Jae worry for the guy.
'Did something happen?' the question weighed little heavy on Young Jae.
Without even realising it, Young Jae agreed to the arrangement.
Min Jun waited till the nurse to come and assist Young Jae before he made the callback.
"Help Hyung with the towel bath, please." Min Jun asked the nurse Ro Na Ri.
Exactly at the moment when Min Jun took the phone out, the call came through again. He picked it right away.
"Henry! Hey! How are you?" Min Jun tried to keep his tone as natural as possible.
Young Jae froze when he heard the name Henry. The talk from last night raced through his mind.
'Things changed when I met Henry in Germany. He was sweet and Nice. Both of us were not looking for a commitment but didn't mind sex. So we ended up being friends with benefits.' words from last night rang loud and clear in Young Jae's head.
They never got to talk about what happened between Min Jun and Henry because they disagreed over a few things, followed by hearing about Kang Chin Mae's plan to take care of Young Jae.
After all Young Jae didn't know anything about the issue between Henry and Min Jun, which distracted Min Jun a lot yesterday. But when he heard Min Jun's voice talking to Henry stirred something within him.
Affection, care and worries were evident in the voice. He couldn't help but crave to be cherished and cared in a similar way.
'I had two relationships before. Even though both were a failure, I never got such tender affection before. In comparison, Min Jun and Henry are friends with benefits. But there was so much affection between them. It looks like I am doomed never to be loved and cherished.' Young Jae resigned to fate.
Even then, the longing to have someone to love and stay in a happy relationship grew stronger.
'You are never allowed to be in a relationship unless you are in a relationship with a girl. What if the society finds out about you being gay? It will disgrace our family.' His father's words when his family found out about his sexuality rang loud and clear in the head. It only made him feel more hopeless.
The slurry voice on the other side made Min Jun's stomach clench.
"Why did you leave me all alone here?" the question of drunk Henry made Min Jun let out a defeated sigh.
"I will be coming back to Germany soon, Henry. Remember? I am yet to finish my studies." Min Jun tenderly spoke over the phone.
The word 'coming back' caught Young Jae's attention.
There was a sudden realisation. 'If Min Jun planned to leave, then obviously baby-doll would leave with him. She would be leaving me like everyone else.' He couldn't help but feel sad. She was someone who became very close to him in a short time. Being around her made him feel more like being with the family. Even more than when he was around his cousin brother.
This reality hit Young Jae a little harder than he expected. Young Jae felt abandoned and jealous at the same time.
