Chapter 3 - Rule 2- Get in his room

Wait, hold up. Rewind.

I just moved into a family with the hottest guy I have ever met. Can someone wake me up from this dream.

How was I going to survive with so much sexiness? Worst of all, how was I supposed to act around him?

"Mommy!" A few seconds later after Mr hotstuff left, a young boy ran into the living room, hugging his mother tightly around her legs.

Thank goodness he was a little boy, I don't think I would have handled another wave of drooling.

"Hey, big boy! We are back." She ruffled his hair. "Riley," she focused on me, "This is Tyler, he is eight. Tyler, this is Riley, she is joining our family, like I told you." She smiled and I saw Tyler hiding behind his mother, looking shy.

"Hy..." I heard a little whisper. He looked so adorable with his chestnut brown hair and too shy and i couldn't help but smile at him. "Hey," I replied.

Mrs. Baker later took me to my new room, a very spacious room, with a huge bed. I couldn't believe that I was going to be sleeping alone in that room.

"Wow, this is huge..." I said to Mrs. Baker.

"It used to be a guest room, but now it's all yours." She smiled at me. "Just get familiar with everything and come down stairs for supper, I'm already dishing up," she said as she was leaving.

"Mrs. Baker," I called before pausing to re-think my next words. "Th-thank you." I stammered.

"You don't need to thank me Riley, this is your new home now." She smiled sweetly before leaving.

New home alright!

I jumped on the bed, bouncing up and down on it before falling on top just to lie on it aimlessly, looking around the orange-themed room. Then I caught a glimpse of the bathroom, and I got off the bed to go check it out. It was as gorgeous as the bedroom, with a shower, a bathtub and a basin with a mirror over it.

I took time to study the image of the girl that appeared in the mirror, a scrawny, curly haired, brown-skinned girl with stormy hazel eyes appeared looking like she did not belong in a place like this.

But who cared? I was here, and that was enough.

My stomach grumbled loudly and I knew it was time to head down for supper and I made my way out.

I got lost...somewhere somehow, I got lost in the mansion of a house thinking maybe I would bump into Timothy but I must have went around the whole house because somehow I ended up finding my way to the kitchen all-the-while nervous that I was going to see Timothy again.

Turns out Timothy wasn't around for supper because he wasn't back yet...so much for disappointment. Dinner was pretty...awkward for me. I sat there munching viciously on the delicious supper that Mrs. Baker had to ask if I wanted some more before I could finish.

"Uhm...just a little," I said shyly as she added more mac and cheese to my plate.

I did wonder about one thing though as I sat there, where was Mr. Baker?

"You can go sleep when you are done Riley, so that you can get ready for your first day of school tomorrow," Mrs. Baker said once I finished eating.

"Thank you for the food," I said simply as I was about to go. I waved a little at Tyler who was still too shy to talk around me, and I made my way up the stairs to my room.

This time I literally just played a guessing game at which room was mine so I just entered in the first room my eyes landed on, and without studying the room, I plopped myself on the bed, getting a waft of a different smell on the bed this time—orangey, citrusy kind of scent...it smelt good so I stayed there, closing my eyes and going over everything Mrs. Baker had said about the new school.

I wasn't ready to start a new school when others were already further into the year. I was going to miss my old school for it's familiarity, something told me this new school was for the rich kids.

I couldn't get enough of the fruity scent so I took a pillow and covered my head over it, sniffing in the addictive scent.

"What the hell?"

My whole body froze. I did not move, keeping my head hidden by the pillow.

"Why are you in my room?" The voice spoke again, more angry this time.

I slowly lifted my head up and slowly got off the bed to stand up straight before shifting my eyes to face the boy in who's room I was standing.

"Uhm..." I then looked around to clearly see that it was not my orange-themed room. I looked back at him—Timothy, the breathtaking boy who stood before me, confused. "I got lost." I scratched my forehead, trying not to meet his eyes.

"Sounds like a lie to me, considering that your room is right next to mine," he said, eyeing me suspiciously. I couldn't put an other feeling behind his face. For example, was he fine with the fact that I was going to be part of his 'family'?

Did he like me? Not the; I'm into you kind of like me—I mean the I'm-okay-with-you-being-around kind of like.

Wait, did he say his room was right next to mine? Oh, boy.

"Yeah, you are right, I'm lying," I finally met his eyes. "I mean, It's not like I just moved here a few hours ago. There is no way I could get lost."

"I personally don't fancy sarcastic comments, it's kind of rude. First impressions matter, you know." Timothy spoke calmly this time.

"Oh, I'm sorry for being rude, and sarcastic, and...for deliberately invading your room," I said while walking towards the door and I said as I passed by him; "Timothy was it?"

He just looked at me, taken aback by my words as I went out.

I know I said I was going to let go of the attitude but I just couldn't when felt like Timothy was not especially happy with me being here.

"Okay...nice meeting you too Riley," I heard him say.

There it was again. He said my name again.

Why was I being so mean to him? Maybe that was my mechanism to make myself stop drooling everytime I saw him otherwise I would not survive here.

But his room was right next to mine! What was up with that?

And I would be going to school with him.

Can it get any worse?
