"Woah, woah." I heard Timothy say the moment I got in the car as he gawked at me.
"What?" I asked as I settled down to look at him.
"You- you look different today," he said, still gawking at me, "A whole makeover."
So, yeah I did look different. I had a little bit of make-up on my face. I was wearing one of the outfits Sara bought for me, a stripped pleated skirt with a white designer T. Sara had actually picked an outfit for me today. She was good at her job.
"Your mom made me wear this," I said. "Is it bad?" I asked.
"No, no it's- you look...cute," he stammered as he said it awkwardly. I laughed at his antics.
"Baker, the renowned player is stammering?"
He rolled his eyes as he drove to school, "Really? You don't even know me that well and you already think all I do is play girls? That's not all there is to my interesting personality," he smugly replied.
"Trust me, I don't wanna know."
"I don't think you will fit in with the stoner squad today...you know cause of your make-over," he glanced my way before focusing on driving.
"They are not really my friends, you know..."
"Even Peter?" He asked curiously.
"Well...I can't call him friend yet...but we vibe, you know what I mean." I said in a muse. "Why am I even telling you this, mind your own business Baker."
"Ouch."
"So, what's the plan for today?" I changed the topic.
"Uhm...Hailey is in the swimming team and dance club, so you have to join either of them so that you can get to know her. Paige on the other hand is in maths and literature club so, you can join either of them too."
"Wait..." I laughed and he looked confused. "Paige is a nerd?"
"A cute nerd whom every guy wants," I saw him smile and I felt a little pang in my heart since he had used the same word to describe me earlier.
"I don't like this," I said. "The fact that I have to join stuff I'm not even good at. You are lucky I have nothing better to do with my life. I hate swimming so I will choose dance. The problem is with Paige, I'm the dumbest kid, she will know I'm up to something."
"That is why I will tutor you. See, it works perfectly."
I was regretting this already.
"And what do you play?"
"Soccer."
It so happened that we got to school at a time when a lot of people were outside so everyone's eyes were on Timothy and I as we got out of his car.
And almost immediately, I saw one of his friends approaching us. I got nervous, not sure if I really wanted to be introduced as his half sister. It was too unbelievable.
"Wassup dude!!" There were now two guys approaching us and Baker turned to them, smiling so wildly until they got to us.
The shorter one looked Latin with striking black hair and the other one had blonde hair and striking blue eyes.
"Who is she?" The shorter one didn't waste time in asking as he looked over me. I couldn't figure out his thoughts on me, which nerved me.
"I'm right here, you know. You can just ask me." I said glaring at him and they all turned to look at me surprised, including Timothy.
"Girl's got guts," The blonde one said, still looking at me. "Who is she?" He turned to ask Timothy like I had not just told him to ask me himself.
"Riley is my half sister." Timothy said it so coolly although they were surprised.
"No way dude, you never told us about her," Blonde guy said.
"I feel like I saw someone who looks like her last week," Short guy said.
I realized then that I did not have time for their stupid conversation so I took my bag and waved at Timothy with a 'see you later bro' to make it more believable as I left.
It was that day that I realized that Hailey was in my chemistry class...one of the many classes I hated and the moment she saw me in class, she eyed me the whole lesson. How was I even going to be friends with her.
When the lesson ended and I was now heading out to go to my next class, I found Hailey waiting for me by the door, looking all pretty in her crop-top and jeans.
"So, you go to this school, huh?" That was the first thing that came out of her mouth, sounding kind of harsh.
I so badly wanted to answer sarcastically with something like 'no I don't, that's why I was in your chemistry class' but that would sabotage my whole plan so I answered more politely.
"I guess...I thought Timothy would have told you by now that I'm his half sister." I said.
"Ow," she calmed down. "That's weird, he never told me, but now that I now, that's cool. I'm Hailey by the way." She said in a sweet tone now.
"Riley," I said.
"I like your outfit," she eyed me over. "Also you are new so if you need any help, just tell me."
"Thanks," I smiled. "Actually...I wanna know where I sign up to join the dance club."
"Crazy enough," she smiled. "I'm the leader so you can sign up to me today."
"That's great. I will catch up with you later, I have to go to the bathroom," I said as I turned to go.
"I can accompany you, you know girls always do that."
Weird
I laughed lightly, "I wish but I'm going to take one of those deep shits, you really don't wanna be there," I said and she looked at me in a 'what-the-hell-is-wrong-with-this-girl' way.
"Okay...see you later," she smiled and left.
I walked through the now empty hallway before I spotted spotted Timothy by the locker on his own and I was about to go to him when I saw Peter AKA Draco approaching him and I hid myself so I could hear their conversation.
"What are you doing out here asshole?" I heard Peter say out loud as he approached him and Timothy turned to him.
"Bitch." I heard Timothy hiss.
What the?
"I'm not a bitch. You are the bitch going around lying that you have a step sister. You aren't fooling me, I know you asshole," Peter smirked, as if rubbing it in his face
"You done? Cause I don't have time for stoners," Timothy came back at him, calm but bloody.
What was going on here? I heard that Peter was a bully but there seemed to be more that just that between Peter and Baker.
Peter chuckled as he got closer to Timothy. He clearly wanted to start a fight. "Ha, same old Tim, just a little popular."
Wait...so Peter and Timothy had history?
