Peter chuckled as he got closer to Timothy. He clearly wanted to start a fight. "Ha, same old Tim, just a little popular."
If I were to match how it felt watching the conversation between Timothy and Peter unfold, I would compare it to me standing on the edge of the cliff, leaning closer to see how the water looked like under. Peter most definitely wanted to fight but Timothy looked like he just wanted to get Peter out of his sight.
I debated whether I should show up in front of them or remain where I was but I had no option when one of the teachers came out of nowhere, shouting at Timothy and Peter to go to class, breaking off whatever saga was about to take place. I also cut short my toilet journey and decided to just head on to class straight away.

When lunch came I met with Hailey to sign up for dance and she took me to her lunch table that was not so further away from Baker's and his friends. From the other end, I saw Peter eyeing me the whole time but I tried to avoid his stare. I made sure I avoided him the rest of the day because he didn't look like he was in a good mood plus he would want to know why I was now hanging out with Hailey.
"You are Hailey's friend already? How did you do that so quickly?" Baker asked as he drove us home.
"It wasn't so hard since I'm in her chemistry class," I said and he smirked.
I still could not get past his encounter with Peter and I badly wanted to ask him but that would reveal the fact that I was eavesdropping on their conversation.
"This will be so much easier than I thought," he said while smiling to himself.
"Why are you even doing this?"
He turned to look at me, "For fun," he shrugged. "My friends always do this."
I shook my head, "I'm helping you because I really need to pass this year, I really want to go to college...and also because this whole plan sounds like a silly thing I would want to remember after high school." I laughed just thinking of how stupid it was.
When we got home, no one was there yet so we decided to grab some food and go straight to doing our school work since Timothy was going to be helping me. We were now settled in his own study room, both of us sitting on chairs facing each other with a table between us.
"Okay, what should we start with?" He asked, now looking at me.
"I got an F in Algebra last week," I said and Timothy broke into laughter almost immediately.
"You're that bad? I'm sorry, it's just that you look like a really smart girl." He laughed again.
"And you look dump but it turns out you are a pretty clever boy."
"Lesson being, looks are deceiving," he smirked. "Honestly when I first saw you I thought you are one of those bad bitches, the troublemaker types. You still do look mean but I did misjudged you. You are feisty too, now my friends want to you to seat with us during lunch."
"Your friends look stupid also I can't believe that's what you thought of me. It must have been because of my shaggy looks. You never know though. You know what I thought of you?" I paused the question for theatrical moments. "Exactly what you turned out to be–a player." I smirked.
"What you see is what you get baby," he grinned and I sat there just admiring every little inch of his handsome face. His forest green eyes and his perfect teeth.
"This is so cliche but I have to say it; take a picture, it will last longer," I felt so embarrassed when he noticed that I had been staring at him for too long.
"Mxm, don't flatter yourself brother."
"I forgot we are supposed to be brother and sister," he chuckled and that reminded me of what had happened earlier.
"What?"
"What?" I asked back.
"You've been staring at me for so long now and you are not talking."
"How well do you know Peter?" I surprised myself by asking that question and he was also taken aback.
"Why do you ask?"
"I just wanna know what he is like. He still wants me to be part of his gang, I just thought you might know something," I said.
"I don't know anything," he simply said, as if trying to avoid the conversation. "If I say anything you will say, I'm judging him so maybe you should find out on your own since you are so interested. All I'm saying is he is a troublemaker. Now, let's go back to doing Algebra something we know Peter isn't doing right now."
I could feel it, I could say hatred. Maybe dislike? He didn't want anything to do with Peter.
And It so happened that Peter was the second person I met at school the next day.
We went earlier to school so that I could look for Paige and join the Literature club. When I got into the class where they had their gathering, I found Paige already in the class with another friend of hers, discussing a book.
"Hy..." I hesitantly said as I got inside and they both turned to look at me. "I'm new here. Is this where you gather for Literature club, I also what to sign up."
"You're Tim's half sister right?" Paige said as she stood up.
Then I remembered that we had met at home on Saturday.
"Yes, you are the girl who came over, right?" I asked.
"Wait, you went over to Baker's house?" Her friend asked in surprise. "Girl, you never told me." Her friend stood up to come stand next to Paige as she asked excitedly.
"I mean...it was just for study purposes, it's no big deal Mica." Paige said shushing her.
Mica had a huge afro with big, beautiful eyes. She was so skinny and tall too, model type.
"Mmh...I don't think so," she said suggestively.
"Shut up Mica. Anyway, Riley, right? You wanna join the Literature club?" Paige turned to me.
"Yeah, How do I sign in?" I asked.
"We usually ask a few questions about famous books but since you are Timothy's sister, I'm just gonna let you in because you look like a bookworm," Paige smiled at me.
What? Me? A bookworm? Thank goodness she didn't ask anything about books because I knew nothing.
Oh boy, what was I getting myself into?
The bell rang and I said my goodbye as I got out of the class only to come face to face with the one and only Peter Fisher also known as Draco.
"Hey..." I slowly said as I closed the door behind me. Peter had a deadly look on his face. The type that would make kids pee in their pants. His bad boy look was making it worse...until he started talking. His squeaky voice was the complete opposite of how he looked like and I thought by now I would be able to control myself.
"I know you have been avoiding me and I also know your little secret with Baker but because you and I are friends, we will talk about it all during lunch right?" He said, the serious look still on his face.
I pursed my lips to stop myself from laughing. It was supposed to be scary but it all sounded like a joke to me.
"Is that supposed to scare me, Draco?" I said it mockingly and he narrowed his eyes at me.
"All you need to know is that I know what you are up to." He said it so simply before he left. Not even giving me a chance to say something.
Does that mean he knew Timothy's little game of getting Paige and Hailey?
Oh boy...
