Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

Fourth and last member of Choka was a genius native American. His name was Aaron Smith. He was average in height. He had high IQ and was a PhD in forensic science. He was only 35 years old. He was buried in debt when he finished school. Instead of taking legal and longer route to earn money, Aaron chose path of crime. He became freelancer and was hired by many criminals to clean crime scenes. He met Cha as a freelancer five years ago and became part of the team only one year ago.

Cha had managed to remain unidentified or hidden from not only police but also from criminal world, during five years of his career.

"Hey man. Do you ever sleep?" Kyle was coming down the stairs.

"Hey." They fist bumped. Cha was not very talkative.

"I have found a new home for us. We should leave tonight." Kyle informed. Cha nodded.

"Where are the others?" Kyle asked again. Cha looked at him annoyed.

"Omar is in TV lounge, playing games. Aaron is out to buy some supplies." Cha exhaled and got busy with his gun again.

The front door opened, and Aaron entered. He was holding bags. Kyle quickly got up to help him carry bags.

"Thanks." Aaron said.

"No worries. Man." Kyle looked happy. It was just his personality.

"Hello?" Cha spoke. They both looked at him. He was still cleaning his gun. Kyle imitated phone with his hand to tell Aaron that Cha must be on call. Aaron nodded and both moved towards kitchen.

"Sir, I think you have dialed the wrong number." Cha sat up and signaled Kyle and Aaron to come sit in front of him. His full attention was on phone. Aaron came and sat beside him while Kyle went to bring Omar.

"Turn on the speaker." Aaron whispered. Cha nodded and wanted to turn the speaker on but then he stopped. He looked anxious. He looked around to see if someone were watching them.

"Wh-Who are you? And How do you know about us?" Cha stuttered. He looked worried.

"What would a person like you want with us?" He was even more surprised. Kyle entered with Omar. They sat in front of Cha. Aaron briefed them.

"Now. Right now? It is a decision I cannot make alone. I have to ask my partners." Cha explained. They were all looking at him curiously. So many questions on their faces.

"Why should we…" Cha was interrupted. He seemed curious.

"Half hour is fine." Cha's eyes gleamed with happiness and excitement. He had a big smile in his face.

"Okay. Bye Sir." Cha responded and call was disconnected.

"You guys won't believe who was on the phone." Cha almost screamed. His team looked at him curiously.

Dr. Madison was lying on an operation table. He was just injected with anesthesia. There were a lot of medical staff busy preparing for the procedure. Surgeon had not arrived yet. He was staring blankly into the roof of the room.

Dr. Madison was here to volunteer for Secret Immortality Program (SIP). This research program was banned, and such experiments were declared illegal a decade ago as they posed certain threats to Human lives. However, some companies illegally continued research and in the past ten years, this program advanced leaps and bounds. Dr. Madison was ensured by trustworthy resource that the procedure was not a threat to human life anymore. He had seen a living volunteer on top of that.

"Dr. Madison! The procedure will involve collecting tissue from your various vital organs including your heart. The procedure is harmless, but you will be hospitalized for one week until you are fully recovered. We will monitor your recovery during this time and collect data for future procedures. So, before you come, tie the ends for your family and friends and empty one full week from your schedule." Doctor, in-charge of SIP had told him.

Dr. Madison started feeling dizzy. His vision was getting blurred when the door opened, and Surgeon arrived. His face was covered.

"Are you feeling alright? Dr. Madison!" Surgeon asked as he came closer.

Dr. Madison nodded and lost consciousness.

Lisa was sitting in a large conference room. She was accompanied by Melinda and her lawyer. They were waiting for Steve, his assistant, and his lawyer. After getting beat up by Lisa and Melinda the other day, Steve and his assistant had filed a lawsuit against them. They sued Lisa and her assistant on multiple charges including assault, abuse, battery, attempt to murder, disturbing the peace etc.

Someone from the scene recorded Lisa beating Steve and released video on social media. The news of such unusual event spread like a wildfire. Lisa called for a press conference on the same day and informed media of sexual abuse from Steve. She told that Melinda was trying only to help, and she hit Steve by accident.

Steve held a press conference later from the hospital and denied all the charges from Lisa. He said that Lisa was a horrible and arrogant person. She could not stand the popularity of his new television show. He further added that she was just using her femininity as a shield to gain sympathy and evade consequences of her inhuman act. He claimed to be innocent and peaceful citizen of the society. He resolved that he would take Lisa and her companion to court and make them pay for their crimes.

Surprisingly, all this public drama fetched more fame for Lisa and Lisa could not ask for more in these circumstances. Her boss was happy with this and advised her to prolong this for a few more days.
