Chapter 25 - Chapter 25

21st December 2050

5:00 AM

It was snowing. Kyle left the apartment building after breaking in the Penthouse for his team members. Omar had hacked all the cameras around so Kyle was invisible on security cameras. As per plan, he had to break in the Target's car to help Omar track it. Omar had proposed that he could kill the Target in a road accident, but the Boss rejected the idea. Target had to be publicly murdered.

Kyle was similarly dressed like other members. He was carrying a backpack. Long wig hair could be seen hanging out of beanie. He was also wearing a mask and glasses. There was a mole on his left cheek and a pencil moustache above his lips. The moustache looked weird and prominent on his face. The moustache was only thing that stood out in his otherwise ordinary appearance. The other thing noticeable about him was a limp in his right leg.

Kyle came out the main entrance and walked towards the main road to grab taxi. He had plenty of time to reach his destination and finish his mission.

9:00 AM

Congressman Appleton was getting ready for a meeting. He was standing in front of exquisite dressing table tying the knot of his tie. Beautiful young woman was asleep on king-sized bed behind him. He looked at her in the mirror and envied himself. He was so lucky to have such young and beautiful wife at his age. He started whistling.

His full name was Donald James Appleton. He was 63 years old, short, and fat native American. He had three sons. He became senator for second time this year. He was one of the most senior and the most respected senators in USA.

"Yes." He spoke in his apple gear.

"Okay. I am coming down." It was his secretary. She had come to pick him up. He wore his long fur coat, walked towards the bed, kissed the sleeping beauty Goodbye, and went downstairs. A White Smart Car was parked in the porch. His Chauffer quickly opened the backseat door for him. He got in the car. Driver closed the door and quickly got into the driving seat. Senator's secretary, Nina was sitting with the driver. This car was fully automatic and did not need driver, but Senator Appleton was a traditional man. He felt vulnerable to technology without human touch.

"Schedule." Senator Appleton said in prescriptive manner.

"Sir. You have three meetings with ruling party congressmen. The meetings span from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in the noon. After that…" Nina started in mechanical tone.

"Only three? These bastards. How dare they…?" Senator Appleton frowned.

"Okay. Carry on." His tone became rougher. He was surely annoyed.

"Lunch with Ben at 1:30 then there is a parent-teacher meeting at Ben's school that you are obligated to attend at 2:00 pm." Nina continued.

"Okay." Senator Appleton sighed.

"You will be returning home by 4:00 pm in the afternoon to be present in a television reality show "Life of leaders". Later…"

"Oh. It was today?" Senator interrupted again. He was brightly smiling. His mood changed by 180 degrees. It was a famous show that covered politicians' personal lives. He always wanted to show off his perfect wife.

"Yes. Sir." Nina affirmed. Senator nodded.

"What next?" He was still smiling.

"Sir the last activity on your schedule for today is the Party High Command meeting at 6:00 in the evening. You will present your plan for the upcoming Armageddon."

"Oh yeah. It was today. I am getting forgetful with age." Senator Appleton hit his head lightly.

"Okay. Good job. Have you sent me draft of presentation?" He appreciated Nina.

"Yes sir. Two days ago." Nina looked happy.

"Very good. I will recommend you for a Mayor's seat in the next election." Senator Appleton said.

"Thank you so very much sir." Nina looked extremely happy.

"Laptop." Appleton pressed a button on his earphone. The earphone created a holographic image of laptop in front of him. Appleton leaned back a little to rest his back. He then grabbed the keyboard and brought it in his lap to type in more comfortably. He then grabbed the screen and moved it in front of his face. He enlarged the screen with his fingers and started scrolling.

He began reviewing the presentation.

11:00 AM

Kyle was hiding in the parking basement of a large corporate building. He arrived at this building 90 minutes ago to help Omar install bug in the security system. Omar had control over the CCTVs now. Kyle was basically invisible on digital platforms. This building hosted a lot of offices of political workers. Their target was coming here for a meeting. The meeting was supposed to stretch over approximately half an hour.

After hacking the car, he had to go to the murder site and collect shell of the Ammo. The Rifle that Cha was going to use was not an export item. It was a rifle specifically designed by Pakistan Forces for their own use. To avoid any sort of smuggling, they tagged each rifle and ammo unit with a secret classified number. The rifle and Ammo shell were to be returned to the boss to avoid identification of owner of the rifle.

The car arrived and the Target got off it. Kyle identified the man. He waited for them to leave. As soon as they moved, he started following them. He wanted to make sure that no one was coming back. They all boarded the elevator. As soon as the doors of elevator closed, he briskly came back to the car.

This was a Smart Car. It was a high-speed flying car equipped with latest technology. This car had a very advanced signal jammer installed. The jammer allowed the car to only connect to the secured and verified communication signals. It made the car un-hackable from outside. It was equipped with a Fluid Balancing System that would secure the Car from flipping upside down and from drowning in case of any accidents.

Kyle walked with the wall to avoid any Dash Cams and stopped 10 feet away from the Target car. He opened his backpack. He put out a small device that looked like a handheld game console and pressed a button on it. The device turned on with a beep. Kyle started working on his device.
