Since the weekend, the Royal Palace of Glear has been hard at work with the upcoming wedding. As well as trying to deny all manners of gossip that Crown Prince Maxen may have gotten Lady Aphra pregnant, which is why the Royal Court is in a hurry to have them marry so young. Not only so young, but soon after their engagement was announced. This had blindsided the Royal Court as they had only thought to have them marry due to the poor health of the King and only focused on the upcoming wedding.
They did not know how to properly deny these claims without fearing that the public will panic if they find out the King is very ill. There solution in the end was to just not say anything, since only time will tell if she really was pregnant. Their silence felt deafening to the masses as they came to believe that the rumors must be true with the Royal Court keeping quiet in the end over the topic.
At first, the rumor was spread through a popular celebrity gossip channel that quickly spread amongst the masses. Other channels picked it up and passed the gossip as truth as the time passed. Eventually, it felt that the whole kingdom was convinced that there was unplanned pregnancy happening amongst the young couple.
As time passed, the Royal Court decided that the only way they could quell the wagging tongues of everyone was to have the couple show off their love to each other; so that they will have other topics to talk about. The Crown Prince had just gotten the ring he had ordered and had suggested that he present her the ring in a more public manner, prompting even his mother to look at him with approving eyes as well as incredulous at the fact that he became sensible over his marriage.
Prince Maxen had thought that he would never get a better opportunity to show off the ring to her in a public manner that everyone approved of. He had gone to school very giddy, making Zander look at him with a smile while narrowing his eyes at him and keeping quiet over the car ride to school. They had parted ways as Prince Maxen went to his class with a wide smile on his face. The other students stare at him wondering if the rumors were true.
Prince Maxen finished his exams, two in the morning and two more after lunch. During lunch, he actively searched for Elizabella and found her heading to a secluded place to eat her lunch. He quickly followed her with his wide smile plastered on his face, but it faded when he presented himself to her.
"Lady Aphra, may I have a word with you?" he asked as she stopped and looked back at him, before curtsying at him and giving him a polite greeting.
"Sir Maxen, you may speak if you wish," she said making him roll his eyes at the way she addressed him.
"I already said that you can just call me 'Wolf' when we are alone," said Maxen as he went near the only bench in this area. "I am sure that you are aware of all the gossip that is going on. I will make it brief. The Royal Court has decided that in order to distract the masses, we should show a display of our affection be professing our love in some manner.
"I already have your ring on my person, and I will need you to accept it in a public manner. I was thinking that we make a show in front of the school as their are still reporters outside waiting to catch photos of us. It would be good if you react excitedly or emotionally to really sell this play. You will also have to think of a way that you show off your affection to me," said Maxen as Elizabella stared at him not moving while processing everything he had just said. "Maybe go out and show off the new ring-"
Elizabella interrupted him by putting her finger up to silence him. Which, he did become silent... in disbelief that someone would dare silence him.
"Did she just... silence me? Me. The Crown Prince of Glear? I must be seeing things. Yeah, we can never get along at this point..." thought Prince Maxen as he felt his eye twitching while Elizabella seemed lost in thought as she frowned and began to pace.
"...You giving me the ring will and makes sense for this marriage to happen without a hitch... also me showing off the ring at every chance I get will also work..." said Elizabella out loud as she continued to pace and look at the ground. "But is that enough on my end to do? No, more needs to be done... What else should I do? The wedding is literally at the end of next week... What is loud enough to proclaim love to someone? Hmm..." she stopped pacing and stopped talking to herself as she looked at Prince Maxen hard as she thought.
Suddenly she, felt like she was inspired as Prince Maxen saw her delicate eyebrows raise up in realization. Prince Maxen was lost in thought as he felt a strong familiarity to the way she raised her eyebrows and wondered just where he had seen her before. He was tempted to ask her if they had met before, but he was certain that he would remember her and even his mother has said that they never met before. He returned from his thoughts when he heard her giggling darkly, making him frown and think that he has never met such a girl before.
"Maxen, you are saying that I have to express my love to you before the wedding. Is that correct?" she asked as she seemed to smile evilly, making Prince Maxen wonder what is going through her head.
"That is correct. The sooner the better since we will be getting married soon. What are your thoughts?" he asked as he was curious as to what would get her to smile so wickedly.
"Humph! I am a student from the Arts department! What better way than to express my 'love' to you, if not through art? I will preform this coming weekend, a love song dedicated just for you. How does that sound?" she said sweetly as Prince Maxen thought that he felt chills coming over him as he wondered just what song she would be singing.
"What song are you going to perform?" he asked curiously, making her grin innocently.
"Why not an original creation? The first production I made in this school was a music video with original music and lyrics. It is not impossible for me to have this finished by the weekend so everyone can see my- nay- 'our love' for each other," said Elizabella as the production swiftly came to her head as Prince Maxen looked at her and wondered if it could really be done.
"Are you sure that you will be able to accomplish this be the weekend? Is it not too hard to do alone? Do you not need to be voted to have a slot in the weekend performances?" asked Prince Maxen looking at her with concern since this did involve him as well, making Elizabella scoff at his comment.
"Please. I have my reputation as 'Director Ginny!' How can I disappoint anybody when it comes to productions in this school? Trust me, I can just go up to the teacher in charge and say that I would like to take a slot to 'profess my undying love to my future husband' and just like that, I have a slot. We could even have the school advertise it to the public so that way we will be able to distract the masses for a while," said Elizabella, rather smugly, leaving Prince Maxen speechless as he thought that he has heard only good things from Director Ginny since she acquired that title in school.
"I will tell the Royal Court that you have a plan in action so that we will have a way to distract them for a while," said Prince Maxen as Elizabella thought that she should really get to know what exactly the gossip is as soon as possible, since she still did not know what exactly it was that the Prince was talking about.
"Yes, leave this to me," she smiled wickedly as her Shadow Guards communicated to each other that she was up to mischief again.
