Portia smiled as she felt the sunshine kissing her face. She got up blissfully. It's her first day in College! She's very excited so she immediately went inside the bathroom to do her morning rountines. After preparing, she left her room and went downstairs to their kitchen.
"Good Morning, Mom." She greeted her mother who was busy preparing breakfast and kissed her cheeks.
"Good Morning, dear. Did you get enough sleep?" Her mother asked her as she put the plates on the tables. Portia helped her preapre the table.
"I'm too excited that I can't sleep last night." Portia answered and her mother chuckled.
"I knew you'd be like that." Her mother said. When they're done preparing the table, they started eating.
Her smile slowly faded when she realized that it's just her and her mother now. There were two empy seats in the dining. One was for her father, the other was supposedly for her younger brother. Sadly, they both died in a car accident.
Until now, justice is yet to be served for the two of them. Portia believed that it wasn't just a hit and run accident. It was intentional. Before her father died, he told her that there was something confidential that he knows that can put him in danger anytime. And it really did.
She wanted to investigate herself and find out who was behind her father and brother's untimely death but her mother begged her to not let herself get involved. If her father was really silenced for knowing something that he's not supposed to be aware of, then Portia might only put herself to danger as well if she still continue trying to find out the truth.
"Portia?" She snapped back at her senses when she heard her mother.
"Yes, Mom?" She innocently asked.
"You're doing it again." Her mother said and shook her head. Portia bit her lip.
"I'm sorry, Mom." She replied. She was spacing out again. Her mom wants her to stop thinking about her father and brother's death and let them have their peace but she just couldn't. She still can't accept the fact that they were killed when they're both innocent.
"Hurry up. You'll be late." Her mom reminded her and so, she just ate quietly and brushed her teeth when she's done.
"Mom, I'm leaving." She said as she put on her shoulder bag.
"Be careful, Portia. Goodluck." Her mom smiled sweetly and pat her head.
"Thanks, Mom. I love you." She said and her mother smiled even more.
"You're all I have, dear. I love you." Portia smiled weakly before relly bidding goodbye to her mother.
She inhaled a deep breathe when she's out of their house. This is it.
She walked to the nearest bus stop and waited for a bus where she can ride. After some time, she saw a bus approaching and so, she stood up already waiting for it to stop in front of her.
When the bus stopped, she quickly went inside. The ride to her new school seemed so long for Portia. She's really excited and she wants to get there immediately and start rhe day meeting new friends and crushing over handsome and young professors. Yes, that's all her expectations.
When she arrived, she can't contain her emotions anymore. The smile on her lips grew permanent as she made her way inside Sunville University.
She stopped when she was already inside to looked around. There are students who are also strolling everywhere.
She did the same. She still have some time before her first period that's why she decided to walk around to admire the beauty of her new environment.
She went to the library, the Canteen, the garden, and everywhere her foot brought her. She took a glance on her wristwatch to see that her first class is approaching that's why she decided to cut her tour anf head to her classroom.
As she pass by the quadrangle, taking a shortcut to where she needs to be, someone bumped her causing her to lose her balance and fell down to the ground. She thought the guy would help her stand up but he didn't. She was left with no choice but to help herself up.
"What the hell?" One of the girls dramatically exclaimed even though she wasn't the one Portia bumped into.
She ignored the girl and looked up to the giy who bumped her to demand an apology But when she saw those deep grey eyes, those thick eyebrows, and perfect nose and jawline, nothing came. No words came out from her mouth. She's astonished. How can he be this handsome?!
He stared at her with furrowed eyebrows. He seemed mad.
"Aren't you going to apologize?" He said. Even his voice is so charming although it sounded so arrogant. It's very manly and deep.
"Miss?" He called her again but she was still busy admiring his features that's why she didn't heard him.
"Stop staring and apologize immediately." He commanded and her brows shot up.
"W-what?!" She said sounding a little sarcastic. She's already turned off when she saw how arrogant and demanding he is.
"Why should I apologize? You're the one who bumped at me." Portia fired back. The guy looked at her in disbelief. Even his friends were dumbfounded when they heard her..
"How dare you say that to him?!" One of the girls shouted angrily pointing a finger at her. ignored her and focused on the man in front of her.
"Don't you know who you're talking to?" Another one of the girls said. Portia took a glance before taking a deep breth and looking back to the guy who never took his gaze away from her.
"Listen, mister. I don't care about who you are. You may be a valuable person in this society but you can't just arrogantly demand an apology from me when you're the one at fault here." Portia bravely said not taking her words into deep thought.
It was dead silence but she can feel the daggers the girls are throwing at her through their gazes. She was taken aback when the guy suddenly smirked leaning closer to her.
"You don't care, huh?" He suddenly said in a husky voice. She felt her knees getting weak because of the sexy sound of his voice.
He leaned even closer and his mouth reached her ears.
"From now on, I'll make sure to do everything to make you realize how you got yourself into a mess just by talking to me that way." He whispered before kissing her cheeks and turning his back on her to walk away.
