Chapter 4 - Belongs to me

I inhaled a deep breath when the first period ended. Zico never left my side the whole time. He was just sitting there and taking a glance at me from time to time while he was laughing with his guy friends. I also never left my place even though I could literally feel the other girls shooting daggers at me for being there. I don't know the deal of this Zico but I certainly don't want to get involve with anything about him so when the bell rang, I quickly gathered my things and put them inside my bag before standing up and leaving the room.

Numerous eyes were following me as I make my way out of the room and away from that guy. I could also feel his intense stare as I take big steps just to get out immediately.

When I'm finally outside, I thought I'm safe already but just when I was about to go to my next period, a shout echoed along the hallway.

"Hey ugly girl!" Yes. That's what the freaking guy shouted with all his glory.

I immediately figured it to be Zico's voice because it was still so manly even when he shouts like that. I refused to look at him and just continued walking but the idiot didn't stop there.

"Hey! Ugly Portia!" He shouted more. "Make her turn around!" I heard his command and I immediately stopped on my track when some students blocked my way following his order.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath once again before turning around.

"Better." He said and his usual smirk is plastered on his handsome face again.

"You know what? We've just met a while ago and I have no idea what's your deal but I seriously wouldn't think that you're interested in me so what the hell do you want?!" I said losing the thin string of patience I have left.

His lips slightly parted and his brows shot up as he looked at me with an amused face. I could hear the students gasped when they heard what I said. Some of them are even whispering while looking at me like I'm someone with a mental disorder.

"Your guts really amaze me." Zico finally spoked and it sent shivers down my spine again for the nth time.

"And you really annoy me." I fired back and he laughed sarcastically like I just blurted out a very hilarious joke.

"You really have no idea who you're talking to, huh?" Donna barged in the conversation as she placed herself beside Zico who is still looking at me like I'm his new favorite toy. Well, I think I'm really gonna be.

"Yes. But I also don't have any interest to find out." I smirked and she looked at me in horror. Just who the hell is this Zico for them to give me those reactions?

I slowly felt the urge to find out but never will I ask them or him about that. I would never want to give him that satisfaction.

"This girl is unbelievable. Admiring." Neo, one of Zico's guy friends, said and then laughed. I rolled my eyes at him before looking back at Zico who is now staring at me blankly.

"Are you saying that you're not interested on me?" He said emphasizing every word. while sternly looking at me. I gulped.

"Yes, if you still don't get it." I bravely said. I swear I could see anger forming in his eyes. I can tell that he didn't like what I said. He clenched his jaw before turning his gaze away from me. His eyes roamed the whole hallway as he yelled this.

"From now on, this girl belongs to me. I will make her life a living hell until she finds out who I am!" My heart started beating like crazy when I heard that. His personality suddenly changed from a playful to a fearful one.

He gave one last glance before leaving me speechless there. Everyone looked at me with mixed emotions before continuing what they were doing.

The whole day, I never saw Zico again. He never showed up in any of my classes as well so I guess the first period was the only common subject that we have and I'm really glad about that.

The professors barely showed in our classes since it's just the first day so I just spent my whole leisure time trying to think of ways on how I can stay as far as possible away from Zico and his troop.

The news spread like a wildfire because whenever I go, everyone was staring at me the whole day. How I wish they were staring at me like I'm some goddess who's beauty they cannot contain but no, they were looking at me like I'm an old witch who they need to stay away from.

When the day finally ended, I made my way out of the campus to finally go home. I did nothing tiring for today but I just seriously want to go home, kiss my mother's cheeks and lay down straight to my bed to take a good night sleep.

I massaged my neck as I was walking towards the main gate. Cars were passing by me. These freaking spoiled brats born with golden spoons in their mouths are sure as hell lucky living their never-gonna-be-serious lives, huh.

I never really envied those kids though. I never wanted to be like them. I'm happy with the simple life my mom and I are living. She raised me well with love and support and I just feel so lucky to have her all the time. Even though my father and brother left us early, at least I still have my mother. She's the only family I have and I've always promised myself to work hard and give her the best life I could give her when time comes.

When I arrived at the bus stop, I sat down on the bench of the waiting shed and stared at the busy people crossing the streets. This is the life I'm living and I'm happy with it. I never had more than enough allowance but I surely don't need to starve myself to save money. I don't have my own car but I never had to walk to go home since I always have the money to pay for transportation. We're not well-off but I managed to reach college without having to work to support myself.

I'm living a simple life and I'm happy with it. This simple life I never thought I will lose upon meeting Zico.
