Chapter 7 - Chapter Seven: You and Me

The city was fairly empty and Harmony decided to walk around to take in the rare calmness of the day alone. Nyla was out on another 'business trip', but she insisted Harmony relax around instead of get herself in trouble. She missed having a water bender on her trips, but she knew Harmony wanted to just focus on being a regular person instead of being recognized on the street. Harmony decided to leave Nyla's small home and go into the city for a nice stroll. It was a beautiful day outside and she didn't want to spend it sitting on a bed with nothing to do. 'It's never been so quiet.' She smiled brightly, walking around her old home while getting some stares from random people.

Footsteps pounding behind her caused her to turn around to find the source of the sound. A person came crashing into her and the two fell to the floor. Groaning, Harmony stood to grab his shirt collar and snarled at the obstruction in her way. She bended a puddle under her feet, holding the bubble in the air. "What the hell, guy? I was just trying to walk here. What's your problem!?"

"Come with me." He pulled her into an alley, pushing her against a wall.

She looked up and glared at him in the dark. "Get off of me!"

"Shh."

"Wha--"

"Shut up and follow my lead." He grabbed her chin, kissing her roughly.

Harmony tried to push him off of her, but heard a few people on her right. "He's around here somewhere! Keep searching!" She looked slightly and saw a few cops running in another direction.

The stranger removed his lips from Harmony's. "Thanks, Sweet lips. So sorry for the confusion. I didn't mean to do this, but I needed a quick escape. Any complaints?"

"You're.. You. I. What!?"

"I gotta get outta here, but it was nice to kiss, I mean, meet you." He winked, walking off from the unfortunate situation that just unfolded.

'What just happened?' she contemplated, but set her thoughts aside to give him a piece of her mind. "No! You don't just get to walk away from me! You're an idiot, you know that?"

"So you're following me now, huh?" He laughed and crossed his arms across his chest. "I don't think I'm that much of an idiot."

"Why are the police after you AND why did you use me as a prop for your little escape attempt?"

"Now that's for me to know and you to find out, now isn't it? But if you follow me, we can talk some more about my situation and the best time of my day in that alley." He smiled and took her hand.

She pulled her hand away, punching his arm. "Only if you keep your hands to yourself. Tell me your name."

"I promise." He put a hand on his heart. "It's Amaruq. Walk with me, Sweet lips?"

"Harmony. I guess walking would be ok. Quit calling me Sweet lips!"

They walked along the streets and found themselves below a huge billboard with an image of statues of the past Avatars. Harmony sighed heavily while Amaruq chuckled. "What's wrong? Don't care for the big guys up there?"

"Not exactly; I don't have an opinion on them I guess. Then again, why does it matter? It's not like anyone remembers what they did or who they are."

"Well, I remember what they did and who they are. We wouldn't have this city if it wasn't for Avatar Aang. We also wouldn't be walking down this road equally, as a bender and non-bender, if it wasn't for Avatar Korra. They are really important to us, especially me."

"You know a lot about these guys, huh?"

"History's my thing." His eyes made their way back to the electronic board. "Wait, it's changing." The billboard flipped to reveal the next Avatar; Harmony's smiling face was plastered on the wide screen. Amaruq did a double take on his new buddy standing next to him. "You. You're the Avatar!?" His face turned to extreme shock, backing away from her slightly. All that Harmony could do was laugh nervously with a blush spreading like wildfire across her face.

The people on the street heard him yelling about Harmony's presence in the city and began crowding the two. They were excited to be seeing the new Avatar and wanted a closer look. Harmony lifted herself on a high rock platform to get away from them, jumping to a nearby rooftop and sprinting across it to get away. Amaruq was left behind to wonder if he made the wrong impression to her.

***Nyla's House***

Harmony walked to the front door and opened it, careful to stay quiet. "Glad to see you're back, friend. People all over the city are buzzing about you." Nyla was sitting on a chair in front of her. "I thought you were gonna stay here for the day and rest."

"I was getting bored of doing nothing. Sorry I didn't say anything before."

"And you prefer being spotted on the street and bothered?" Nyla laughed wholeheartedly. "I don't mind. Your life is your business. Some kids ran up to me and said they saw you on a billboard, Avatar."

"Yeaaaaaah, about that.."

"I bet you looked cute, don't stress it. What do you wanna do now?"

Harmony blushed slightly. "Kinda can't go outside, especially with everyone the way they are now. What do you suggest?"

"Arena time, water punk."

The girls took stances on opposite sides of the area. Nyla smirked, "What kind of bending are you comfortable with?"

"The original, you goof. Just you and me." She gathered water to encase her arms with a laugh. "I'll take it easy on you."

"Looks like you learned some tricks. I'm still better."

"Of course you are, boulder head. I'll try not to hurt you." She pouted playfully.

"In your dreams, babe!" She spit on the floor to her side, throwing a few projectiles towards her friend. Harmony slashed them into pieces, protecting her face and body. "Wow, that was actually really good."

"Now I'm more than just a pretty face." Harmony threw her extensions towards Nyla, pulling her legs from under her weight. She dragged Nyla towards her, but the earthbender threw a sharp rock at her side. "Ouch!" The water fell to the ground and were soaked up quickly. "So much for not getting hurt."

"I'm so sorry, Har! I. I didn't mean to hurt you--"

"It's fine, promise!"

"No, it's not. I'm gonna get you some bandages. Stay here and stay still."

"Nyla, please. I just.." She put her hand on her head, her body swaying back and forth under her weight. "Is the arena spinning or is it just me?" She laughed and fell to her knees; White figures began surrounding her on all sides as the sunlight faded from her vision.

It is time, Avatar.
